Why does his age matter? If he's good enough he's old enough, a cliché but nonetheless entirely true.

Because even with him in the team we have struggled to score goals. Let's be realistic and take the pressure off him. When Rashford isn't scoring then all the people praising him will be all over him.

We need to be realistic. If we are to challenge for the prem then we need a 25 goal striker.

Even if we bring Mourinho in and win the league in the first year, they will say its short term and he'll feck up in the 3rd year etc.

Let them say what they want, I just want us to be the most successful and hated team in England again. Don't give a shit about what the scousers or city fans have to say.

Absolutely but it is risky to play someone so young every week, they can easily pick up injuries or burn out. We definitely need another option up front and more attacking options from the bench. I'd be happy to rotate Rashford and Ibra.

I'd rather see Martial played as a striker and Rashford used as his backup. We will more than likely see this under Mourinho.

Why are people suspecting Giggs? Isn't the general conspiracy theory concensus that Giggs has the most to gain from LVG staying seeing as the options were Mourinho comes in/Giggs leaves, or LVG stays another year and Giggs takes over at the end of his reign. So why would he self-sabotage leaking damning LVG news to the press.

Rashford shouldn't be a starter next season. We shouldn't be relying on 19 year old to get us 30 goals a season. Should definitely sign Ibra and two wingers.

Rooney was starting games at the same age. You want Rashford to be world class? then bring those games.

Rooney was miles ahead of Rashford in terms of development. He was strongly built as a 18 year old too.

Do you think Rashford is going to get us 20-25 goals?

Remember when Rooney came in we had RVN, Saha and Smith.

"You never know, though: he might fall in love. He has waited a long time for this — and if any club has that power, it is Manchester United."

- I actually think that, assuming he's successful, he'll want to stay. I think we'll see a Mourinho who takes an interest in the future of the club and wants to genuinely (to quote the Donald) make it great again.

Because Smith was ok to be on the bench. You can't compare Smith and Saha to Higuain and Ibra. Zlatan alone is fine, he's 34. Bottom line is Martial and Rashford should be allowed to play loads of games, that's the only way they will get better.

Oh wow, the senior English players are blameless and those useless young players can't even boil an egg; well that's me convinced. [/sarcasm]

Self-serving, past-it players using their media contacts to hang LVG and their younger rivals out to dry, 'natch.
Pretty much sums it up. The senior players were actually the bigger disappointment this season, no leadership, no quality, no nothing. If they dont like Mourinho, well, they can leave. Not surprised they wanted Giggs since he wouldnt break up some of these old structures that imo hold us still back. Giggs is the next one who should leave after LVG

Really??? Our most successful player ever, a true one club player and responsible for some of the most exciting football I've had the pleasure to see. Apart from being unfaithful to his wife and wanting the United job (who wouldn't want it), what exactly has he done to upset you so much?

This attitude annoys me. He was a huge talent and a great servant to our club during a fantastic period so I have many great memories thanks to him but the man is an absolute snake and its red tinted glasses if you refuse to see this. I was genuinely sad when I heard the stories because he's my boyhood hero but there is no excuses for what he has done.

He doesn't even have the personality it stones to put himself out the for the job in a positive way it's just sneaking around with his mates vouching for him.

Who said anything about Higuain?

I don't think we should waste money on him. I said Ibra and two wingers. Get rid of our current back up striker which is apparently Young.

Rashford will play a lot of games especially with Europa league. But we need someone proven up front next season if we want to challenge.

Signing Ibra wont do much harm to Rashford, he would still get plenty of game time and it removes some of the pressure that we have recently been putting on his shoulders.

The exact same thing was said about Martial, he's a mainstay in the side and I don't feel anyone would want him ousted now despite his age. Rashford, like Martial, seems mentally very tough, the pressure isn't bothering now and once the team around him starting performing it'll get easier anyway.

We should absolutely bring in additions but whoever we do bring in should be ready to fight for their position, not automatically jump ahead of Rashford.

I'd like to think Rashford, Keane and Wilsons futures at United but we have to fix the squad I would trust Jose to do that and take an interest in the youth games next season. I'm pretty sure Mata and certainly Martial have said it'd be great to play with Ibrahimovic at United. That's not an x by any of the kids. We'll probably see a fair bit of rotation. The only thing i'm not keen on is us spending lots of money on other clubs kids (though Sane would be an exception). I think we've quality here and maybe someone like Ibrahimovic will bring them on further. Someone that stays back to focus even more. Someone to say sometimes dreams are not worth fulfilling and it can be wiser just to appreciate where you are. I think selling becks for example led to Ruuds demise at United. I think their futures were interlinked because Ruud was always getting the right service into him.

Jose might and should view united as different.

Van Gaal arrived at Carrington just before 9 according to Sky Sports.

If they lawyer is helping to deciding who gets the kids in the divorce then Van Gaal can have Rooney.

I'm the opposite. I'd love for our transfer strategy to focus more on monopolising the best young talent on the continent rather than established stars. Supplement it with our own academy graduates and the occasional player in his peak.

I imagine this stuff takes a while to thrash out but I'm just looking forward to it being done now, even though the world and its dog knows it's happening.

Poor Giggs is still getting shit on after it turns out all those class of 92 conspiracy theories turned out to be bullshit.
Gotta love our fans sometimes.

It's an ITV documentary done a few years back called 'ITV Presents: Mourinho' when he was approaching his 50th birthday. It's very good, here's the best stream I could find mate:

"In England - Tell me a team who plays better than Chelsea.......Arsenal?"
"Well they might get more claim....."
Nods, bottom lip puckered out seemingly in agreement.
"10 points behind"

When Rooney was attempting to leave, all the papers had the same story appear at 10 pm one evening. Later Daniel Taylor of the Guardian gave away that Rooney's agent had briefed the press on the matter. Same set of journalists (who in most instances have since been promoted to being senior football correspondents for their respective papers or have moved into more senior jobs at other papers) are reporting this story, not the current group who follow United and City on a regular basis.

Someone with an agenda handed the media this story. I'd say Rooney through his agent but Giggs would also be a candidate. Can't imagine any of the others would be so desperate to get the info out. They might talk of one journalist but I doubt they have a list. Rooney needs to keep the media onside in order to get in the England team. On form his place in the team is very much in jeopardy.
My first thought on reading the story was how it managed to absolve Giggs of any blame whatsoever. In fact, it suggested the players would rather him than Mourinho. Considering he has no credentials to speak of, why would players with any ambition prefer him? It makes no sense unless those players know deep down they are not good enough or are past it and only preferential treatment will get them into the team. So my guess is it is either Giggs or Rooney.

Great documentary that.

Genuinely havent felt as excited as this since SAF left. Finally feels like we are on the cusp of great things again and anything is possible, rather than always being in the early stages of a protracted transitional period.

SSN on now. Why do I do this to myself? Can't wait for the 15 minute loop of bullshit and adverts.

Nothing can be announced until the NYSE opens can it?
NYSE is only relevant if its a high end position. For a company manager is not that type of position. If CEO or director were changed only then you tell to NYSE
