Mourinho to United | Officially Announced

Yea but people cannot say united have been classy on the pitch like we have been angels, and what Mourinho will bring is something we have never seen before that is disgusting, if Mourinho gets united winning doubt anyone will care how we behave, that was proven in the fergie years. I don't think many cared when keane purposely injured players, cantona fighting fans in the crowds, there has been plenty of times when ferguson has crossed lines. I think we need to recreate a siege mentality that has been lacking since fergie left, if Mourinho can bring that all the better, has the most important part is getting this team looking like a threat again

For me (although I hate that phrase, when halfwits like Hoddle et al repeatedly use it...we know it's for you, you're the one speaking grr)...erm anyway... for me, it's the appointment we should have made 3 years ago.

The players would have respected him, he'd have been arrogant enough to think he could have improved things, and it could and probably would have been really nice. Certainly wouldn't have slipped to 7th.
Some will say he was signed up elsewhere, some will try and use the 6months of last season as a reason it wouldn't have worked etc..

At least we have tried to rectify it now.

As a minimum I expect him to stop us being so clueless against the lesser teams, and not spend so long keeping the ball for so little reason.

When you guys have some time you should watch the whole 45 minute documentary if you haven't already. The Inter part is my favourite bit but the quotes from SAF are great too. Essential viewing for the upcoming week.

I watched it when I should really be working on an assignment  It was a great watch, although I seem to remember having seen if before!

Only handing him a 3 year deal worries me slightly, don't clubs generally hand their new managers 4/5 year contracts? I know we only gave LVG 3 years but surely that was more due to his desire to retire? We gave Moyes 6 years didn't we? Worried it sends the message that we expect this to only be a short term fix

A lot of people cared about what Keane and Cantona did and they both served long suspensions because of those actions.

Nothing is official yet so just wait until the announcement before jumping to any conclusions about his contract length :)

If it is true that we are giving him a 3 year deal I'm not really worried about that - he'll earn an extension.

That's a tidy set of targets. See how many are true and come off.

Wasn't that long ago James was so highly sought after he went for a colossal fee. Him and Ibra would get the pulses going.

Stones less so!

If he is appointed one thing is for sure, this summer will be even more mental than the last two...

The Guardian says José Mourinho has identified André Gomes, João Mário, John Stones, Álvaro Morata, Mauro Icardi and Ezequiel Garay for Manchester United as part of an anticipated minimum £150m spend.

:lol: No-one has a clue!!! So basically we will be linked with every player in the world this transfer window!

Whoever we sign, I'm not really sure I care who, I have complete faith in Mourinho to bring in good players that will improve our team and squad.

Defiantly will, what do I google to find it?

If you're expecting Mourinho to stay longer than 3 maybe 4 years then just stop

KEY POINTS
  • Andre gomes, joao mario,Garay, stones, Morata, icardi all targeted.
  • 150Million minimum spending
  • Appointment has made Carrick. David de gea, herrera and MATA happy, although mata may leave as he was sold earlier by Jose.
  • Carrick might stay after all, so might DDG as he was goin to leave if LVG was to stay
  • Icardi is fall back for Morata who is number 1 target
  • Garay fall back for Stones
  • Pogba and juve left back alex sandro enquired for and rejected by quoting 150 million euros for each
I think it is guess work right now. All players are Jorge mendes clients and its a good guess that 1/2 may sign from them.

English media haven't had a clue who we're after since Moyes went. Nothing's changed there if you ask me.

Stones plays some nice balls but is he 40million pounds better then some of the young defenders we've coming through at the club? I don't think so.

I'm sorry but this is all FM tabloid shite. This player will do this, the other player will do that. Who truly knows? Muppet mode is fecking code red and will be until August no doubt.

Yea the ferguson teams at the height of their powers were really class at times, the ferguson teams when the pressure cooker was at its highest, they would win at any cost because that is what winners do. I argue this current era has been way to soft

Didn't Fergie lambast his players for the way they behaved there?

DDG
Stones, Smalling, Marquinhos, Shaw

Stones shouldn't be anywhere near right back I don't think and James would be a waste on the right. Nor do I like the idea of Rooney in midfield in the long term.
