I've read that this could be Mendes doing as he has some beef with LVG. Either way they can feck right off with this sort of nonsense. LVG's football has been dire but I personally dont think this is any way to treat someone who has been an important figure in management over the last couple of decades, has tried his best as our manager and actually won something.
ESPN saying Van Gaal knew on Wednesday.

It's not like Moyes where he knew from the media.

I think the whole youth policy is complete pants to be honest with you.

Look at Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter how great is their youth academy? it's not.

Are you supposed to just meaninglessly promote players into the first team who aren't good enough?

It's much easier to do it at United or Barcelona there is sometimes a good player in the academy.

SAF could promote players for the Carling Cup (Capital One) give them experience.

Would he drop a first team player for a vital game if everyone was fit? no.

Equally if you have Iniesta, Xavi, Messi coming through at Barcelona are you going to play them? yes of course you are.

If you have the class of 92, Giggs, Scholes, Beckham knocking on the door are you going to give them games? of course you are.

You can't give players games if they aren't good enough.

wow

Just watched a documentary on Jose's time at Inter.

There's a great section on the 2 legs vs Barcelona and they're discussing the second leg where Inter went to the Nou Camp defending a 3-1 scoreline. Jose says "when Thiago Motta saw the red card, the Barcelona dugout was celebrating like a goal. I thought in that moment they were thinking the job is done. So I went over, when Pep was speaking to Ibra to say 'you think it is over, but it is far from over'."

They show the actual clip of him going over to whisper in Guardiola's ear and walk away with a sly grin on his face. Guardiola is speechless.

The derby next season will be pure box office.

Where is a video of his?

This classless episode is just a sample of what Jose Mourinho and his team would bring to United. So disappointed at this potential appointment :(

Yea the ferguson teams at the height of their powers were really class at times, the ferguson teams when the pressure cooker was at its highest, they would win at any cost because that is what winners do. I argue this current era has been way to soft

Real Madrid academy is alright. They produced Soldado, Mata, Jesé, Lucas Vasquez, Casilla, Morata, Nacho, Cheryshev, Callejon and others in the last 10 years, three of them have started under Mourinho.

It was a scandalous award of a pen. But backing off like a coward didn't help from the ref!

Stand there, and if they touch you, get some cards out! Simple.

Although this is certainly now happening, reports like the above are still opinion, conjecture and unsubstantiated reports.

Think we can assume it's more than that if the BBC are also reporting it. They have higher standards.

The link has been deleted. Who wrote the tweet, and what did it say?

James Cooper, Sky Sports, 5 mins ago
I'm paraphrasing but:
"It seems Jorge Mendes is confident that the deal will be concluded by Tuesday but that there could be some 'little details' to sort out "

Ah.. Seems he deleted the tweet and then rewrote it...?

Nah it's just sometimes the tweet loads up properly and sometimes it doesn't, depending on the browser/phone you are using. Same for me - sometimes when I load the page the tweet is there, other times not. Don't know what the solution is though

Yea but people cannot say united have been classy on the pitch like we have been angels, and what Mourinho will bring is something we have never seen before that is disgusting, if Mourinho gets united winning doubt anyone will care how we behave, that was proven in the fergie years. I don't think many cared when keane purposely injured players, cantona fighting fans in the crowds, there has been plenty of times when ferguson has crossed lines. I think we need to recreate a siege mentality that has been lacking since fergie left, if Mourinho can bring that all the better, has the most important part is getting this team looking like a threat again
