BBC don't usually jump the gun and every other news outlet under the sun is reporting the same thing. Relax, it will be announced in a few days.Starting to think bbc jumped the gun...

How? BBC reported then that United had contacted Mendes over Mourinho. If @Acquire Me is to believed then United first made contact and had their eyes set on Mourinho in December. No, the piece in February was jumping the gun!
Di Maria, Ozil, Varane, Modric... Nobody has a perfect record but I'd say Mourinho's is better than most.Essien, Adebayor (loan), Coentrão, Altintop, Sahin, Pedro Leon...and that's just at Real Madrid.
I've read that this could be Mendes doing as he has some beef with LVG. Either way they can feck right off with this sort of nonsense. LVG's football has been dire but I personally dont think this is any way to treat someone who has been an important figure in management over the last couple of decades, has tried his best as our manager and actually won something. It's really mean spirited to try one up the manager you are replacing the moment he wins a trophy by announcing you will be taking over. And it was almost literally a minute after. Shows the Portuguese lizard mentality at its worst. They do have their good side as well, but I'm basically talking Madeira.
One can only hope.Starting to think bbc jumped the gun...
Either way, it's a pretty shitty thing to do. Hopefully it's Mendes, as I'd rather the most important parties (United and Mourinho) not behave like classless pricks. We don't really know who released it, though. It could be from United side, or Mou's side. Who knows?
Who do you want in charge? One can only hope.
I fear they haven't though..

Van Gaal could've got CL until Tuesday and had a cup final yesterday, after that the news was free to come out.As in it's taken a good 3months + for it to get to the appointment stage.
So the reports yesterday I would say just be patient over! It's obviously very very close now. Which it wasn't in Feb.
Just because we are close to making it official now doesn't mean we weren't in contact with Mourinho's camp six months ago. I think United were trying hard not to do a City and announce the new manager when the current one is still in the job but obviously the news has leaked some how and it's a bit of a mess now.As in it's taken a good 3months + for it to get to the appointment stage.

Won't there be more than 3 people involved in this deal (Woodward, Mourinho, Mendes) so why are we blaming them for the leak? I really doubt Mendes would get to the position he is in by being so unprofessional
I'm not sure what role SAF has under this roof exactly. With mou and saf under 1 roof we would have the most successful managers in the epl ever
That's right. Course there was a beef, it was about the De Gea humiliation of Mendez, and the LVG take no shit attitude over the other Mendez signings. Loved LVG for this. Mendez is dirt.I've read that this could be Mendes doing as he has some beef with LVG. Either way they can feck right off with this sort of nonsense. Shame about Frans Hoek. I know he's one of Louis' coaches, but having DDG get a new coach again is a bit irksome. Hoek is a fantastic coach.Duncan castles is on the case now. Here are what his thoughts are-
This could mean bye bye GIGGSY!
- Mourinho contacted in December, told he is first choice to manage united
- Asked to wait till end of season to take over.
- LVG was given reassurances he will be manager next year so he did not stop to work for 4th but he still failed to get it. Even if he had got 4th Mou was coming.
- Mourinho planned accordingly, rejecting madrid, arsenal, paris, everton.
- He was first offered job for 2017 as some mebers of PLC board did not want him
- Members of PLC board had reservations, but in the end decided to go with him.
- United had also contacted Poch, pep, carlo ancelotti but all had prior commitments
- Rui faria will be assistant coach and Silvino LOuro Gk coach, 2 others will join Mourinho staff
- Mourinho will lead wholesale changes to the football department of the club
- 3 year deal should be signed on tuesday.
So, Mourinho has had since December to prepare for this moment.
That means he has had time to analyze our team and work with Woodward behind the scenes on signings and departures.
I would expect alot of news of incomings to come over the next few weeks if this is the case.
All in all a masterstroke from Woodward if true and will be nice to have a manager in before July for a change.

Crafty as feck! If this is Woodwards doing.......Crafty!

Could? There's no way Mourinho would agree to keep him on.Duncan castles is on the case now. Here are what his thoughts are-

other than the ability to mutate in a split second with either his arms and legs growing or filling the goal area with his body mass, don't see how he could improve.De Gea has improved every time his coach has changed, hopefully he'll get something new to add to his game.
De gea doesnt like him, i think. He liked Eric steele. Maybe its great that he is leaving.Shame about Frans Hoek. I know he's one of Louis' coaches, but having DDG get a new coach again is a bit irksome. Hoek is a fantastic coach.
I fairness, we said the same when Chris Woods and Eric Steele left David, but he's just gone from strength to strength under each coach. And Lauro is no scrub either. He has trained 3 UEFA Goalkeeper of the Year winners under Mourinho at Porto, Chelsea and Internazionale (who all improved under him):Shame about Frans Hoek. Louro began a career as a goalkeeping coach, successively at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid, always under countryman José Mourinho. Several of the goalkeepers he worked directly with (Baía, Petr Čech and Júlio César) went on to win the Best Goalkeeper award, given by UEFA.
One can only hope.
