I'd imagine José got sacked both times. The mutual consent thing just emanates from Abramovich's respect for Mourinho - the same kind of respect that led him to give us Petr Cech.

@Summit - so yea, from my understanding (by watching Sky Sports) they said it was a sacking even though Mourinho would have left. He is given bigger compensation this way.

Good post. Some of the Chelsea players have been dreadful. The game against Leicester was evidence of that and the pundits tended to confirm Mourinho's comments. I think their ship has been slipping for some time but this season with incidents like that with the Physio suggest there has been a growing rift between the manager and the players. The players' engagement with social media has been sloppy and an anti-Mourhino agenda has been evident.

Bought him in for Sanchez (when Sanchez got injured). At that time, he played in strike and looked quite decent. They had the easiest of fixtures and no one else had him. As he kept farting air each match, I kept thinking "ooh they got TEAM X next I'll give him one more chance"...

I think he's been borderline depressed since the beginning of the season - certainly long before they lost hope of qualifying for the CL. There was no chance he was ever going to last the season.
For me, this has nothing to do with an owner with an itchy trigger finger and everything to do with a man losing all motivation for the job.
Question now is whos going to end up at Chelsea, id be extremely disappointed if its Ancelotti. I would rather we sack LVG and get Ancelotti in. Im not a fan of José, forget football, I don't like this guy. If Ancelotti does end up at Chelsea only Pep coming to UTD in the summer would compensate for the disappointment. I think Pep will end up at city to be honest. Just to clarify I'd rather have Ancelotti than the other two simply because I can see him being here long term.

Sure, I'm not the biggest fan of Mourinho and his antics, but to take Giggs over him we leave worse repercussions if things do go wrong.

Spot on, something seemed wrong in the summer but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. To me, it seems that the Madrid job really changed him.
In fairness, Giggs knows everything of what it means to represent United. He would have passion unlike anything you've seen since Fergie.
Contrary to popular belief.. the United job isn't that difficult. Unlimited money, poor league, referees generally bottle against you (don't take offence, it's true).. it's just that you haven't had a passionate character. Giggs would be a decent appointment.
And create a Telenovela named "Pobre Diablos" taking place in Carrington.

His dad had brain surgery and then had a few strokes this year. He's been getting better the last couple of months though. That had to have some sort of impact on him.
