Mourinho sacked

Slightly different in that Mancini was sacked after the season had already finished if I remember correctly, not during.
Sacked after the FA Cup final, before the final round of league fixtures.

It should be seen as a compliment.. not an insult. Ferguson's job was a difficult job. The job now, not so much. You have more resources than any club in the world, your fans have lowered expectations at this moment, the league is the weakest it has been in years and you have one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

The only drawback is that your team is poor for a big club... but it's nothing that solid recruitment and £250million couldn't remedy. The problem is your player recruitment has been poor and your managerial appointments has been even worse.

So would you be happy to go another 26 years without a title. I know we have money, we have always had money relative to other clubs. Without the right manager we will not be able to sign the right players. I wouldn't sign for LvG, top players will know what is going on from players going on international duty. I certainly wouldn't sign for Giggs with zilch managerial experience.

Woah  , I just said trophies are better for me when they're won in style. You took that a bit too extremely I think.

The last year of his first stint with Chelsea. Also said the last season with Real Madrid was the worst of his carrer, that's from his own mouth. Clearly he has had bad spells before.

He was what 5/6 points from the top when he was sacked first time round? And he finished 2nd at Real to a very good Barca ffs. This is quite clearly the first extended bad spell of his career. One would have thought Chelsea would have afforded the luxury of time to their best manager ever in such circumstances.

Reputation only gets you so far with a slump like this. He lost the dressing room and many a great manager has suffered the same.

Again...

If United have any logic running through their boardroom (assuming Pep and Carlo are not attainable), they would be mad not to consider moving for Mourinho.

It's a bit of both for me. Trophies won the ugly way mean little to me.
So you wouldn't care about winning the CL or something by playing Atletico style football?

I actually find the determined defensive football appealing if its done right

LVG was the best available at the time, moyes was a bad decision. LVG has stagnated but his main problem wasn't his signings it was the speed in which he axed of old players.

We've recruited well, one more summer should do it but there is a case to be made about how the squad is being managed, that said, i think our recruitment has been fine bar fellaini.

15 points behind Barca and the dressing room in tatters.

The ugly way for me isn't the Atletico style football, it's the Chelsea type of fluking it like when they won it. I like Atletico when they're displaying crazy energy and fighting (not so much when they get in fouling mode).

Considering Barca got 100 points, it's really nowhere near as bad. Van Gaal taking Barca to the relegation zone or close to it is a bad spell. Finishing 2nd behind Barca was more or less expected.

Obviously not as bad as this year. But a bad spell nonetheless. Finishing second with Real Madrid is nothing to boast about. Juande Ramos did it and so have many other managers. That was the most expensive team ever. That was undoubtedly a bad spell and he himself has said it.

Finishing 2nd to Barca and scoring 100+ goals is not something to be ashamed about either. Obviously he's a bit of dick and pissed off everyone towards the end but purely footballing wise it's not remotely a bad spell. Mourinho says a lot of things and no doubt this had more to do with the off field nonsense about Casillas and co.

The last season was most definitely a bad season. Especially in those days when Atletico weren't quite as strong as they are now and Valencia a shadow of their former self, second place was a mere formality to the big two. 15 points gap and a dressing room divided is not a good position to be in. Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

7 months ago, not a decade.
We were crap last season. We only won because every other team was even shitter. We should have won the league two years a go as well but we collapsed against shit teams. Mourinho has not been great in this stint, rather par for course up until this season.

He's a broken man. Genuinely think any top club that hires him now has lost the plot, much like he eventually would if they do.

Specialist in failure.

Thought Chelsea and their fans were talking about PL domination for years last summer?

" At an end your rule is, and not short enough it was. "

Real Madrid will welcome him back with open arms once Rafa has completed his mission. No Casillas either. It's made for Mourinho.

No Casillas, but Cristiano, Pepe and Ramos.

He fell out with pretty much everyone but Arbeloa there. Completely lost the plot.

He'll probably have a resurgence at some point, but he looks like someone who could do with a spell out of the game. Mid-career crisis of sorts.

How much longer Ronaldo and Pepe will be there is questionable but either way, both will prefer the devil they know and had them playing well than the one they don't and only playing well in the non-big games. As for Ramos, captaincy will keep him towing the party line till the 3rd season horror show.

Why would it? He was essentially captain under Mourinho given Casillas wasn't starting. Still didn't stop him getting Mourinho (rightly) sacked.

I hope he comes back and knock us out of the CL again and again till the time fans like you realise what the club have let go off.

Seriously pissed off at the club right now.

Hahah... dippers gonna stay burnt.

Atleast we will always have 27thApril.

Just looking at Mourinho's seasons at Real Madrid on wikipedia and they aren't even that bad. Last season they had a bad start in the first 4 games of the season but after that it was good.

It's really strange what happened to him at Chelsea. Don't understand how you go from winning the title to diabolically shit in a couple of months.

I´d be surprised if Ronaldo and Mourinho got along again. Believing the rumours too many things happened between both and i think that at this moment it´s practically impossible to see them in the same team. Tbf they never got along except for the first two years of Mourinho´s Real management. Both have huge egos and their bad blood comes from the days where Ronaldo was still at Manchester.

Oh, piss off. We survived well enough without him and we will again. It's not been that great with him back this time and we are in a worse state then when he took over. I'm not afraid of Mourinho and fans who are should sort themselves out. Support the club, not a manager.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Wanting your own club to be knocked out? You typify "Chelsea" fans - only there for Mourinho.

Needs to take a break and accept he was on a road to nowhere picking fights with anyone and everyone. Could you imagine having a boss who is so paranoid and self-obsessed?

I don't want him at United. I want our next manager to have some self-awareness

He needs this six month break for his only sake, because it looks like he's completely lost the plot and has gone crazy, and not in a good way. A well rested Mourinho could be a risk worth taking if our football and results don't improve under LVG, even if he is an insufferable person.

He seems a more bitter/moody person ever since the Madrid job.
