Mourinho sacked

He's a broken man. Genuinely think any top club that hires him now has lost the plot, much like he eventually would if they do.

Specialist in failure
.

I despise Mourinho as much as anyone, but let's not be silly, he's achieved some great things in football.

He needs to take a break, think what is failing in his relationships with players and perhaps consider some changes in his staff

It is such a sad end to his Chelsea career that I can't gloat about it even though I dislike him and had doubts about his second stint from the start. The thread about his appointment from 2013 would make for an interesting read.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Wanting your own club to be knocked out? You typify "Chelsea" fans - only there for Mourinho.
Awww... just 7 laughter emoticons to hide the agony that the great man has put you through.

Anyways, I guess you have a bin to forage, just about now. :D
See I dont want Mrs Loblow and Loblow junior to go hungry tonite.

Oh, piss off. We survived well enough without him and we will again. It's not been that great with him back this time and we are in a worse state then when he took over. I'm not afraid of Mourinho and fans who are should sort themselves out. Support the club, not a manager.
Youre fickle. Who cares about survival, the club survived well enough prior to 97 as well. You just dont let a guy like him walk away like this.
The club clearly lost the plot with the transfers. Its Emenalo who should have been sacked. What else were we going to get with papi jilobodji and falcao.

Proper fecking ruined my vacation.

And will again, hopefully here at the end of this season.

That's a sickening thought. Mourinho. At United. As a City fan who despises Mourinho, that really is terrifying, I do not think my body could cope with the levels of bitterness I would feel if he won anything.

Don't worry mate, you'll get Guardiola. Mourinho polarizes people, that's for sure. He's a bit of a dickhead but one hell of a good manager. His players, with whom he won the league just last May, have let him down. As I said yesterday, a pissed off and fired up Mourinho with a point to prove would be a force of nature at United. Would make derby day a bit spicy, that's for sure.

A fired up Mourinho with a point to prove would be a different guy than the bitter and crazy one on display this season. To think of it, us with Mou and City with Pep is my preferred combination if these two are to end up in Manchester for next jobs. I quite admire Pep but facing a fired up Mou will scare me more.

Why not ask the question about why this is the 3rd time his players have "let him down"?

His methods don't work long term.

Changes in his staff? Won´t happen. Rui Faria and Silvino won´t ever leave Mourinho. Rui Faria has had offers from all 3 top portuguese clubs but he´s loyal to Mourinho and confortable with his assistant role. Silvino is from the same town (Setúbal) and is practically family. The guys who he didn´t trust fully AVB and Baltemar Brito were the only ones that i knew sooner or later would leave Mourinho. The core of Mourinho, Faria and Silvino will remain till the very end.

He has apparently given an interview today to BT sport, hours before sacking. Not sure if it is telecasted yet.

Long term...who in these days besides Ferguson, Wenger or Guy Roux stays in a club long term?

Don't know. It's not that he needs to stay long term though. It's the fact he leaves clubs in a mess.

They haven't been really tried long term. I don't know how often you've seen Chelsea this season, but from what I've seen, some of the title-winning players seem to have had a talent transplant.

I didn't know that they were so close.I never liked Faria when they were in Madrid. I read in As or Marca that Mourinho won't get any compensation.I always supposed that he was more than happy leaving with his 5 years contract.

I don't care much about him. It's the invasion of pop psychology into football I despise. First it was the moronic "mind games". Now managers are being "broken".
He used to be a flamboyant and inspiring leader, always taking fire for his men, but since his last year at Madrid he seems to have become bitter and petty, throwing his players under the bus at every opportunity.

I wondered how the players could put up with that, the answer is they didn't, I'm even surprised the Chelsea locker room held for 2 years.

They should go all out for Pulis
He'd do really well for them in the short term.

He'd be a really good fit at the club.

He'd work well under Abramovich.

Let's try and make this happen

Yeah, because they get fed up of his bellend antics. How come players stop playing for him so often?

Is there not a valid argument to be had that Jose kind of wanted this to happen, for me this last two months he has just lost his passion and looked like he was going through the motions, maybe once it became clear that the title was gone he just wasn't interested anymore, and struggled to motivate himself and his players, so maybe he did the reverse and almost demotivated his players to accelerate the sacking.

The guy knows he could walk into virtually any club with a clean slate, and arguebly much more funds to spend in the transfer windows, at Chelsea he would have had to clear out players and recruit new ones with limited funds and no CL, a hard job, and one I think wouldn't have interested him.

United Bayern, Madrid, and City all need a top manger, all clubs that are in a much better position than Chelsea, and there Mourinho sits ripe for the taking with no strings attached.... bet he's laughing into his bottle of red tonight.

Everyone rejected him apart from Chelsea when Madrid sacked him. Why would they be wanting him now?

Mourinho never comes with no strings attached.

He has been a fecking awful manager all season, the worst in the league. There is some fleet footwork going on from some, trying to pretend that is not the case.

5live are painting this as a mob lynching by his own players. He's a manager; fecking manage.

Good article from Marcotti.

ANd from Delaney:
http://www.espnfcasia.com/blog/espn...ho-couldnt-fix-chelsea-and-it-led-to-his-exit

A number of people close to Chelsea say that one reason Mourinho never formed the unbreakable bond with the current players that he did with the 2005 generation of Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard because he was never as attuned to "the millennials," those born from 1990 on and who came up through modern youth academies. He wanted angry aggression from players never suited to angry aggression, even though he had forensically restructured the squad.

It is hard to manage players who don't want to be managed. A lot find that out. He won't be the last manager who lose his job to player power. It's just that he is the biggest name.

Moyes

Not sure why so many people think this is a bad decision by Chelsea. I think it was clear Mourinho had lost the dressing room and the players just weren't playing for him. Chelsea made the right call in sacking Mourinho now because I don't think it was going to get any better. Hiddink is a safe appointment, he's managed Chelsea before and did a good job so I'm sure he'll steady the ship for who ever takes over in the summer (can see it being Diego Simeone)
