Mourinho | New old Chelsea manager

Had he been our manager, many would have been supporting each sentence of his. That's the way it goes in football.

Well, most of the people who can look at him and his antics from neutral side don't agree with him, and say he is acting like a cnut.

Yes, as a neutral he is an abominable cnut. My point was, football fans have this mentality of "he is cnut, but he is our cnut" and they think it to be fair excuse. Not all mind you, but sizeable.

Yes, no doubt about that, football fans change their opinions quite quickly, especially from perspective OUR PLAYER/MANAGER - THEIR PLAYER/MANAGER.

Understandable to a certain extent, it's hard to actually hate someone who plays for the team you support. So you're not actually going to be actively posting against him, but you adopt a more neutral stance or just don't post at all. If Mourinho had come to Utd, that's what I would've done, I really didn't want him here but wouldn't have actively post stuff against him.

To a certain extent though, the Rooney situation will be interesting for us: at the moment, loads of people in there really dislike him, but if he stays will probably revert to a more neutral position, ie "I don't like him, but as long as he's in the team, I'll support him". But some probably won't forgive him this time.

And in any case, actively rooting against someone that works for the team you support is a bit boring in the long run (see Benitez at Chelsea last year).

I'm starting to remember why I disliked him last time he was Chelsea's manager. Here's hoping a speedy return to frosty relations between him and Roman followed by Mourinho skulking off out the back door shortly after.

The same could easily have been said about SAF.

Mourinho probably said more shite in last month than Fergie did it in last few years.

Fergie rarely criticized other managers without them criticizeing him first, and Mourinho just criticised both Guardiola and Moyes in last few days even though no one said one bad word against him, if anything, Moyes praised him few times recently.

True. Doesn't change the fact that most neutrals would've said Ferguson was a cnut too. Mourinho is worse but SAF wasn't exactly Mr. Popular. Yet we still love the guy. That's the way football fans are.

I don't think MOST neutrals would say that, but can't argue that there is lot of them who never liked him. Mourinho is just something else, I don't think we should compare him to Fergie at all.

No pretty much every neutral would. I'm an Aberdeen so obviously love SAF possibly more than United fans do but that doesn't change the fact he's not well liked. It's the reason him and Mourinho get on so well, SAF says he sees himself in Jose.

You guys talks about class and dignity and what a cnut Mourinho for taking a jab at Moyes (which happens to be his main rival manager), while you yourself can't fend the urge to dish one another on an internet forum

Talking about triple standard

Well, I know lot of neutral fans who don't think Fergie is cnut at all, so I don't agree.

I think it's important to draw some sort of distinction. They have similarities for sure. They like control, they like power and they like winning. And both are very strong personalities. But I do think there is a general respect and admiration Sir Alex had within the game that mourinho definitely doesn't. You can see it in the way young managers talk about him, you can see in the way his rivals ( barring the el fatso) talk about him. Yes, he is a "tough" man and doesn't like losing and does breathe "fire" at times, but putting that aside he is, for me, a classy individual. Sir alex would never eye gouge the oppositions assistant manager. He doesn't make everything about himself. In fact on his last day out at old Trafford, in his speech, on a day that was all about him, he made it a point to stress very strongly on the fans giving the next manager all their support. Yes, they have similarities, but I think it's unfair to club them together. Every manager has a cnutish streak, even wenger has made some absurd comments and some cnutish ones too. Sir alex has a sharp tongue for sure, but I simply cannot accept that he is devoid of class the way mourinho is. For me, I have never felt let down by sir Alex's behavior and conduct. On the other hand vato thinks mourinho was disgraceful in his conduct.

The difference is Fergie drew the line somewhere before "poking an opposition coach in the eye".
Exactly. Can you imagine sir alex stooping so low? fecking no.

I actually am not a mourinho hater. I respect him a lot. He's a brilliant manager. But classy he certainly isn't and for me fergie is.

Ferguson was nowhere near as bad as Mourinho but I genuinely do think he was disliked by most neutrals. They see him as someone who moans, bullies referees, gets favourable decision and generally acts like a hypocrite. He may indeed be a classy man but I doubt most neutrals see him in that light. Mourinho has a classy side too but we don't focus on that. Didn't he help Mark Halsey out when he had cancer? Football fans tend to turn rival manager into black and white caricatures when in reality they're all usually a mix of good and bad points.

It is bitterness at SAF's success. Pure and simple.

He must have an clever, evil plan to win the game in the second half - the first was awful. He's a mastermind that Jose.

What were the fans chanting about him?

I heard "Sit down Mourinho" and "You're not special anymore".

Jose will be so delighted with today's non-event. Almost sent me to sleep but he's got his precious point

He has Mata on the bench, one of the best players in Europe and a constant thorn in our side, and he brings on Mikel to get a point.

Strange that he picks this exciting young forward line and emphasises their 'mobility' then systematically fails to use their pace whatsoever. If he was looking for a straight-up smash and grab he may as well have stared Torres.

Is Jose really the answer at the Bridge? They always say never go back....

Not if they want to play in a stylish and attacking way. Jose is the most pragmatic coach going. His teams and ideas always lack something in terms of style compared to others(not results of course). When he had a load of superstars at Real he couldnt get them to shine.

It really grinds my gears the way he keeps touching or patting other peoples' heads when he greets them. In my culture, touching somebody's head is really disrespectful, especially if you're younger than them.

I bet he would do a great job with Stoke, mind you probably be 38 0-0's and relegation.

I cannot get my head around the Mata situation, one of the best young talents in Europe and he doesn't even get a chance.

Another bid on Rooney will depend on whether or not Rooney let's Chelsea know "how he feels". Mou is getting desperate now, he wants Rooney to go public.

If Moyes had ignored our best player of the last 2 seasons, not gone with a genuine striker and played for a draw I don't think he would be getting an easy ride from the media like Jose has. I still think Chelsea are a bit behind us and City.
