Mourinho | New old Chelsea manager

Wonder if he's still the Happy One...

They are SO lucky they didn't lose. Brunt went for glory, Popovic gave the ball back to them when he should have held onto it and Marriner gave a soft penalty. If we beat Arsenal we are even on points with them. Funny how a few weeks can make such a big difference.

I didn't actually watch today's game, how did Chelsea play?

I will say that Chelsea haven't concerned me in two seasons, they didn't concern me at the start of the season, and they still don't concern me now. They looked awful against Newcastle last weekend and the lack of a quality central midfielder and striker still hurts them.

Tons of possession (69%) but pretty shit.

He was convinced that it was definitely a penalty and if anything Chelsea should be upset with the ref because West Brom didn't deserve to draw

What did he say?

On SSN, he said it was a definite penalty, that he'd watched it back from many angles and it was a penalty. He then spoke about a freekick or something that WBA were awarded that he disagreed with (possibly leading to the second WBA goal - I've not been following the game today) and that if any side should be unhappy with the refereeing then it's Chelsea. He then said the ref was one of the best in England and Europe and called him by his first name a few times like they were close friends.

One behind us actually :P

Mourinho is doing what Fergie did. Backing his team like a blind man.

Don't see what's wrong with that. Although his I should've made eleven changes comment in the last match was a tad daft.

What was it you said "bless your cotton socks" lol seriously Rob another decision in Mourinho's favour. I'm telling you and you said we'd struggle to make top 4, I think it will be Chelsea who struggle.

That's class from Jose. He's loving it. As long as the camera is on him, he's happy. He'll happily lie like he has done there to make headlines.

Now no one is talking about Ramires - whereas if he was a United player everyone and their uncle would be talking about him.

It's always a good example of how much more negative stories on United sell than those on Chelsea. Ashley Young's dives are discussed even in mainstream media, despite having no impact on the match whatsoever. Ramires saves Jose's proud record and in a week no one will remember.

Can't believe how many decisions there has been in Chelsea's favour they must be at least 6 points off due to poor refereeing!

Fans of Chelsea might disagree, but it's way easier to give a 'soft' decision to Chelsea than to United. If you do it to United, you're called out by 90% of the country as corrupt/Fergies friend/United fan. If you do it for Chelsea, the WBA fans are angry, but no one else really cares tbh.

I'd agree with that as united are disliked especially by them southern softies

It was never deactivated. He is a gobshite and the media and pundits lap it all up.

I would've taken Iain Dowie over this cnut during the summer

Mourinhos reaction to that penalty decision was disappointing. The signs are there that he's cracking up! He looked proper stressed out in that interview. He's fooling no one! As KM said, it's only what SAF would have done yet in the same situation I reckon Ferguson would have accepted it was a bad decision and that you get some and others you don't.

Poor bloke's aged about 20 years. Dem eyebags. It's not going to end well at Chelsea.

He must be the only bloke in England who thought it was a penalty!

Even the BBC, who usually fall all over themselves to lick Chelseas collective love pump were adament it was a shocking decision.

It all stems from the comments he made a little while back when asked what he would do if any of his players dived.
He tied his own hands with that comment, yesterday he was left with either publicly criticising his own player or backing him and saying it was a penalty when he knows it wasn't.

The more annoying thing for me is that every interview I have seen, he has been asked the question and the interviewee just laps up his answer and doesn't press him on why he thinks it is a penalty.

From his pre-match press conference:

Mourinho joined in the debate over diving by admitting: “I hate it.” Although he was at pains to make clear he was not talking about Ashley Young after the Manchester United winger’s antics were heavily criticised again this week, Mourinho made a more general point about players who are guilty of simulation.
If, because of diving, a football result directly is affected, I think the player should be punished. But I don’t need to speak to my players because they don’t dive.

Twattish for him to then pretend it wasn't a dive.
I've seen it said on here that Fergie would also protect his players but I've seen Fergie admit when we got a soft decision and also drop Ashley Young after he dived.

Any chance of this guy coming to United?

Thought his "No comment" interview regarding Moyes was interesting. I can't see any news ruling him out. Kevin Moran says he wants him at OT

Edit: Oops. Just saw the thread below this. Move along, nothing to see here.
