Mourinho | New old Chelsea manager

You're excited to potentially see Chelsea move to a much higher level in 3 years if his previous stint there is anything to go by?

You're one weird fella.

He probably means that Mou will fck up Chelski in three years ... or something :wenger:

It'd be hilarious if Jose ended up not going to Chelsea. I'd say a certain two popular Chelsea fans on here would have a Caf meltdown.

I expect to read this headine in a day or two: 'Chelsea fire Mourinho; Perez offers him Real job by mistake.'

For all his greatness, that's twice he's been shafted out of a club.

I think we'll see more issues with him and the Russian crook down the line.

Can't think who else we'd get.

Who knows, Fergie might get bored and fancy another job. That would see a true CAF meltdown.

Do you fancy Mancini? He's available. And you might still keep Rafa which is wonderful. No? :)

Happens to basically every Real Madrid manager. I don't know why managers even bother to go there, even winning doesn't prevent them from getting sacked.

cause when they retired they can say they worked for the potentially most famous club in the world...eventhough they know its not long ter,

Not sure how exactly the same they are. If Fergie thinks Jose is the right fit for United, we would have Mou at OT as of today! Well, it didn't happen, not because Jose had got a job and refused to come to OT. It's because Fergie did not recommend him.

Well, I dont know how you arrived at that conclusion. I can only speak for myself and I have never wanted him to be anywhere near OT. It looks like Fergie thinks the same! :)

There was a [poll on here before Moyes was announced for sure and it was fairly conclusive that RC wanted Jose as a majority IIRC.

Meanwhile, a Newbies poster named Twiggy requested that I post this here:

Atletico won the Europa League once before Mourinho joined Madrid. So Atletico have a Europa League trophy, Copa del Rey trophy and the mickey mouse friendly Europe trophy.

It's like the stat the other day about Benitez's success in the UEFA Cup/Europa League. Who cares. Better managers haven't even entered that competition because they are trying to win the Champions League.

Thanks for the title last year Mourinho, can't say I'm sad to see the back of you though.

Now to the important things, where's this Klopp fella?

Real Madrid is a mess of a club, maybe Hiddink would do a good job for them

... and the picture made its point. When you start comparing what Mourinho achieved with Real Madrid to what Atletico Madrid achieved then it shows how much of a success it was for Mourinho, regardless of who indeed did better..

Also truth to be told, Benitez also reached 4 champions league finals, iirc..

Ancelotti will be the next Madrid manager. Actually looking forward to being able to watch Spanish football without all the nonsense Mourinho brought with him.

Well if what you said is true, it's simply because people like myself have not taken an interest (or missed it in my case)in the poll. :p

Seriously, I thank god we have now someone other than Jose!

Hector Cuper's Valencia reached two of the four you're thinking of.

Indeed. He won two La Liga titles with Valencia, but it was Hector Cuper who led them to the CL finals a year before Benitez took over.

Make it twice then, but considering he did it with Liverpool, it does count as four anyway..

Considering we ridicule Benitez a great deal here, it is amazing that we don't bring up his own particular achievement. Since 2000/01, only three teams have won la liga; Barcelona (6 times), Real Madrid (5 times) and in between, Benitez was the only manager to lead another team outside the two big favourites to La Liga success, which is an achievement itself considering the financial clout that the big two have.

I wonder why Jose will want to go to Chelsea again. It's not a bed of roses for managers, is it?

In my opinion, he would go to PSG, try win the CL with them and then will eventually settle at a stable club.

There's been a couple of articles floating around saying that he turned down the United job as he wanted to be in London, close to his family home and daughter's college.

And there was a poll on here at the time - Mourinho got about twice as many votes as anyone else, if I remember correctly. The buzz when the "Mourinho to United" bandwagon was gathering steam immediately after Ferguson's statement to the resignation when it became apparent it would be Moyes were in stark contrast.
