Mourinho | New old Chelsea manager

Meanwhile, a Newbies poster named Twiggy requested that I post this here:

But he's done a good job their!

Against that Barcelona team he's done pretty darn well to get those 3 trophies!

Perez's speech was a cracker; it was more-or-less like this:

"Real Madrid is the greatest club in the whole of last season. And José Mourinho was the longest-serving coach in our history, lasting 15 minutes at least. But, alas in Spanish, he failed to win the Grand National & X Factor, as well as the Champions League, so his standards fell way below that of the fantasy Real Madrid which exists only in my mind. PS Don't forget to vote for me or I'll bugger off, leaving the club skint."

I don't think expecting your manager not to aliennate the players, fans and media is a big ask to be honest.

Jose's shot himself in the foot too many times this season, surprising for someone as good as him .

You wonder if he really has the club's best interests at heart with some of his decision making.

If he goes back to the club that gave him the sack that tells you everything about Mourinho. I was actually one of those who would have liked to see him here but now that it looks inevitable that he will join Chelski again I really think he is a bit of a cnut. Or a money grabbing whore.

How so? He's always said that he loves Chelsea. Once Roman gives him the boot, I'd still take him in a heartbeat.

I don't think it's about money really. What he's going to earn at Chelsea he could earn at City and has probably been earning at Madrid too. It's just that he couldn't stay at Madrid any longer after alienating everyone around him and he did feel comfortable at Chelsea before Abramovich went nuts. I think Roman has already apologised and they've made amends, so he can now get back to work. I actually reckon he wouldn't have quit Chelsea for much longer the previous time.

Or it maybe shows he wants to go to a place where he enjoys working and is loved by the fans.

Mou only loves himself. I am so glad he won't be anywhere near us apart from the time he's taking his team to play an away game at OT. He wouldn't have fit into our culture.

Mutual agreement so Madrid didn't have to pay him off and Chelsea didn't have to buy him out. Surprisingly civil considering the sums involved.
It was the obvious option really. Madrid wanted him out as much as Mourinho wanted to leave, they can't wait forever until the other one blinks.

Hm, let me guess... He's a winner, he can handle the pressure, he's extremely experienced and he knows how to improve players (Lampard still credits him with bringing the best out of him). I say he's the perfect match for us.

He makes decision having his own interests in mind for sure. It maybe his strength as well as his weakness depending which way you look at it.

I'm not sure that I can take that article seriously.

And not only did José win every trophy, but he also built the stadium with his bare hands. As well as the Great Wall of China too. Once, a blind child asked for The Special One's autograph and - lo! - soon he could see again. The child, that is, not José; he could already see. Anyway, I lurve smexy José xxx.

Yours will be the favorite for the next 3 seasons, man. Still hoping he feck off somewhere outside Premier League.

Although football is about winning, a club like us is too classy for a manager who manages by hook or by crook, and he would have a hard time building up a team without spending big to feed his ego. What about youth development. This is a department he lacks experience with.

At united, this character would destroy what Sir Alex has built throughout the years.

He is perfect match for Chelsea because many within the club are money grabbing whore and hence they speak the same language.

Except Ferguson has said many times that he was exactly the same at Mourinho's age.

Let's be honest, the vast majority of this site wanted Mourinho over Moyes and were buzzing at the prospect of gazumping his Chelsea return at the 11the hour. Now that it didn't happen, people are turning the guns on him.

What Evra said when we won the 20th title sums up what the dressing room was like. He said something along the line of: how we lost last year hurt us, and it was an accident. We were determined to get our trophy back..."

The win at United has gone far more than just monetary value. The players instilled in themselves (via the character of SAF) that it was truly hurting losing the trophy and they played with more determination to win it back than considering their own benefit.

Mou will never be able to keep that mentality among his players if he comes to United.

or you know that people who wanted Mourinho are still saying in favor of him and who didn't want Mourinho are still talking against him.

So you think a team managed by Mourinho wouldn't have been hurt after losing the title to a 90th minute goal?

This is the list of the Real manager's since Perez sacked del Bosque in 2003:
Carlos Queiroz, Jose Antonio Camacho, Mariana Garcia Remon, Wanderley Luxemburgo, Juan Ramon Lopez Caro, Fabio Capello, Schuster, Ramos, Pellegrini, Mourinho

It's always the manager, right? :D Perez and his pet players remind me of wrong-way drivers that wonder why everyone else is taking the wrong direction.

Except Ferguson has said many times that he was exactly the same at Mourinho's age.

Not sure how exactly the same they are. If Fergie thinks Jose is the right fit for United, we would have Mou at OT as of today! Well, it didn't happen, not because Jose had got a job and refused to come to OT. It's because Fergie did not recommend him.

Well, I dont know how you arrived at that conclusion. I can only speak for myself and I have never wanted him to be anywhere near OT. It looks like Fergie thinks the same! :)

Many of us did not want José, regardless of the success he might've achieved here.

So you think a team managed by Mourinho wouldn't have been hurt after losing the title to a 90th minute goal?

Well those players would be ready to move on if there are greener pastures (i.e. more money). Not sure what you are driving at but if you have heard enough legends talking about how proud they played for United because of our history and culture, you wouldn't have argued with me Sir Alex did set some standards for the club which Mourinho cannot really fit in.

People on here love Mourinho because they think he can bring trophies to us in the short term, but without regard of the long term goals for the club. It's very short sighted

Or it maybe shows he wants to go to a place where he enjoys working and is loved by the fans.

I for one wouldnt enjoy working for the same person again that gave me the sack years ago.
But maybe you guys are right, maybe it's not about money and it's all because he has so much love for Chelsea under Abramovich. It's just a bit irritating tbh.
But may well be the two had a talk. Who knows.
