Mourinho | New old Chelsea manager

The problem doesn't really stem from Iker and Ramos's ego though. Other players at other clubs will have egos just as big. The problem lies far deeper within the club to the point where Jose is supposed to bow down to them. There is simply no other club in the world where no manager, whoever it is, could not be in complete control of the players. Fergie would have been in the exact same situation. He'd have told Casillas to feck off as well if he started leaking things behind his bacl.

See, you are missing the point imo. Nobody with a decent mind can attack Mourinho for choosing one player rather than another (Diego Lopez instead of Casillas for example). Its his job... this doesnt mean that a lot of people wont have an opinion...its football. The problem comes when the press in MAdrid (who are the clubs worse cancer) go on a crucade against the coach because of this...and when Mourinho not only uses his right as a coach to pick but also decides to discredit his own players (e.g. Casillas, Ronaldo and Pepe). This is not ok. He was given loads of power and he proves why he shouldnt have. He publically splits the team, the fans and ultimately brings down the value of the clubs assets (players). Not a good manager really....

Also, some people need to start realising that the press and the club are very different things. As I said, the 'MAdrid friendly press' is not friendly at all...its a cancer.

The only mistake the club has done here imo is to give Mourinho much more power than he can handle and not acting on Mourinhos antics before (e.g. how he instructs players to be violent, how he attacks everyone rather than being a true sportsman, how he sticks his finger in another coaches eyes etc..)

A lot of vitriol towards Mourinho on here.

I think he's done a decent job there. Reigned in what was widely hailed as the best ever club team in the world whilst at their peak and took Madrid to 2 semi-finals (a marked improvement on their previous CL performances).

He won't have insurgency in the dressing room at Chelsea - Ivanovic, Cech, Terry, Lampard, Mata, Luiz, Hazard and Ba have already come out and said it would be amazing if he were to return.

No one can take on the egos in that Madrid dressing room, even the biggest managerial ego of all.

Del Bosque managed just fine...and he had a lot of egos in the dressing room

José knew what he was getting into - hell, even SAF warned him - but gambled on being able to bind the team together. Unfortunately for him, disgruntled senior players have a direct line to Perez & aren't shy of going to see him personally, to complain. In short, the whole thing was only going to work out if Real were amazingly successful from the very start...and if Mourinho behaved towards the senior players as Rodgers has done at Liverpool - with deference.

Nonsense....prove it... typicall I read and believe everything tabloids say kind of comment

I read it in Marca, complete with quotes from Ramos & co, like:

Gawd knows whether it's true or not though.

Exactly my point. Marca= Tabloid. Marca= Real Madrids cancer.

Apart from that, imo if that particular comment were true I think its fine. Ramos & Co. probably know Mourinho wasn't very safe and they wanted to inform the club of that they had a choice to make. All of them are the clubs 'assets' after all...

having said that, its bollocks.

We hire Moyes, Chelsea hire Mourinho

6 years of Europa League obscurity awaits us.

He's going to make them so good that they occupy all 4 Champions League spots? That's what I call awesome management.

Didn't Del Bosque get the sack because he dropped Raul?

'Mourinho fired, blames corrupt Eurovision.'

Hiring Moyes over Mourinho is obviously a fairly brave move which goes to show Man United are willing to keep a certain sense of stability and authenticity. Time will tell whether it is really possible to maintain that in modern football

One thing that's rather obvious anyway is that Mourinho would not have stayed 6 years at Manchester United, had we offered him such a contract. Bloody hell, he was still at Chelsea six years ago

I reckon Mourinho will fancy bedding down somewhere now. He's been around Europe and decided that he doesn't enjoy anywhere as much as England.

If he can reign in the combativeness, I could see him being at his next posting (hopefully ours) for a while.

I think he may well want to do that Chelsea seem to be the wrong club for that given how roman operates. City may have fired people quickly as well but I can se them being patient with mourinho so that might be an option.

I think there's only one club for Jose in England, and that's Chelsea. I think people are getting too carried away with suggesting certain players and managers would play for some of thier biggest rivals.

Mourinho vs. Moyes

6 November 2004, Chelsea home, 1-0 Chelsea win.
12 February 2005, Everton home, 1-0 Chelsea win.

23 October 2005, Everton home, 1-1 draw.
17 April 2006, Chelsea home, 3-0 Chelsea win.

17 December 2006, Everton home, 3-2 Chelsea win.
13 May 2007, Chelsea home, 1-1 draw.

Wow no compensation to be paid after 3rd June. Mutual consent. Everything is just falling in place for Chelsea.

Him going back to Chelsea will end just like it did last time after a few years. He really never sticks around does he.

To be honest a lot of managers at big clubs don't stick around too long for whatever reasons. It's just more obvious with Jose because he's so melodramatic.

Three years + is more than any other manager we've had since. I'd gladly take that and all its attendant trophies. And I genuinely think he could last longer - he has a home here. He's been around and realised England is where it's at.

If he's given the tools, he could be up for doing the one thing he hasn't done on his CV - building a dynasty over time.

Seemed inevitable really. He's bound to end up back at Chelsea now; they'll be a massive threat next season.

People who somehow think that Mourinho will create a "dynasty" at Chelsea are forgetting Chelsea's owner.

I'm more worried about the transfer budget Abramovich has promised Mourhino than anything Mourinho will add to Chelsea himself.

If he goes to Chelsea then it will be with the promise of significant investment, there is no way he'll join with Ba and Torres as the main strikers for example, and they'll surely upgrade centre mid as well.

It'll also be a lot of fun. I love Mourinho for his antics. The Premier League is much more entertaining with him in it. How I miss the days of Mou, Rafa, Wenger and Fergie. :D

Mourinho is one of those people I actually do like but get proper pissed off when he's a direct threat to us.

Chelsea (if he goes there, still think PSG is very likely) will be a massive threat next season

Marca's already sticking the boot in - two photos of José, one from 2010 & one recent pic, accompanied by the caption:

His three years as Madrid coach have worn. Thus now old José Mourinho.
