Mourinho | New old Chelsea manager

In an ideal world, but we're talking about human being, he is after all just a mere teenager going into adult.

It's easy for us on the telly to say what you're saying, but he spent the good 6 years of his youth with this united team, playing in front of the united fans, probably the United team was as much as his best friends in England,

I've seen bully soften up at a point, and Ronnie's not even a flat track bully

So, not only is Ronaldo a world class footballer, humantiarian and all round nice guy but he's also the inventor of the first ever time machine. Teenager?

Anyway, on point, although not at all for this thread, Ronaldo is a professional footballer, paid to score goals and win games. The notion that he would ease up on United purely because he used to play here is madness. He wouldn't be doing his job if he did that.

We need to let go of this notion that Ronaldo loves us and wouldn't do anything to hurt us. Yeah, he might respect us enough to not rub our noses in it, he did the same against Sporting, but at the end of the day he is a winner, he's shown as much, and he's single minded. His job last night was to score and win, he did that, and you can be assured that if he'd had an actual clear chance to bury us he'd have taken it. And rightly so.

Regardless of whether or not he will get it, are there people who still think Mourinho doesn't want the United job?

Its not black and white though is it.

If he had the pick of destinations for next season, do I think he would choose us? I think he probably would. Would he be prepared to wait around for it if he got an offer from Chelsea or City? Im not sure he would.

He wants it, I reckon. But how much? Not necessarily enough to go out of his way to ensure he gets it.

It was just something I noticed at the time. I could care less what Ronaldo thinks about us so that has nothing to do with my opinion.

I do think he eased up though, whether he did it on purpose or not is a completely different matter. Maybe his frame of mind for the game just meant he thought about things too much and didn't let his normal natural instincts take over.

That's definitely a possibility, he said the occasion and atmosphere got to him, so there is definitely the potential that it affected his game, but allowing the occasion to get to you and deliberately easing off are two entirely different things.

I don't think he eased off at all he might have been a bit nervous playing at OT which affected his game a tiny bit but not tremendously. I'm sure he still hold Manchester United and Sir Alex in high regard but he plays for Real Madrid now and he will always play at the best of his ability to benefit Real Madrid no matter who he is playing against.

Ronaldo described his game as "shy" - which while an awkward choice of words seems to fit. You can't play his game if you're self-conscious, he has to be able to just do it, and last night he looked like he was miles away from that.

Mourinho said before the match that all the respect and affection being shown was making Ronaldo uncomfortable - so the reception he got at the start of the match was almost a tactical master stroke. If only we'd been able to do the same for the ref.

I read on twitter this morning that when announcing teams it's almost always the away team first and the players are announced in numerical order but that yesterday Madrid were announced second and Ronaldo last.

And Mourinho would know, he's the master of this tactic himself. He disarmed our whole team in the Chelsea v Inter Milan game by waiting in the tunnel and shaking every one of their hands in a warm embrace as they came out.

Kill them with kindness. Was I imagining it or was Ronaldo getting booed whilst on the ball early on? I was quite surprised at that.

He was playing for them - of course he got booed

But only after this - try 3:20 0n:

26 is prime in footballing world, but 26 is just a mere weeny kids in the walk of life

Do you remember what it was when you're 26? I'm 31 one now, and I've done stupid shits when i'm 26

This is probably a lot of it as well. If the roles were switched and we had went through in the same circumstances I know I personally would've been a little disappointed.

Yes I'd be happy we went through but at the end of the day the red card dulled the victory and gave us/the footballing world an excuse for why Real went through.

Completely right.

Mourinho Agrees deal with unnamed club in the summer

Jose Mourinho will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and, according to the Spanish media, has already signed a deal with his next club.

Spanish radio station Cadena SER has reported that Mourinho met with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and made it clear that he wanted to leave in the summer after three seasons in charge.

"At the beginning of January, Mourinho signed an agreement [with Madrid] to leave the club at the end of the season, whatever happens," said journalist Jose Ramon de la Morena. "Both he and the Real Madrid president [Pérez] know this for sure, but understandably they don't want to admit this nor go public with it."

There has been plenty of speculation linking Mourinho with a return to Chelsea, especially after interim manager Rafa Benitez made it clear that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

The Express believes that Mourinho tops a shortlist, which also includes Juventus manager Antonio Conte, drawn up by Roman Abrmovich and his advisors and that he will be approached in the summer.

Whether Mourinho would favour a return to Chelsea is yet unclear as there is bound to be interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe if the Portuguese manager does leave the Bernebeu in the summer.

However, Morena is convinced that Mourinho will leave and that he has already agreed a contract with another club.

"There are 11 games to go in the La Liga season, and there are 11 La Liga games to go in Mourinho's career at Real Madrid. He's leaving in the summer, added Morena.

"For this reason, he hasn't participated in Real's preparations for the coming pre-season, while he also hasn't been involved in discussions about the club's tour to China - and he isn't interested.

"He has already signed a deal with his next club. Whatever he wins this season, he isn't going to continue at Madrid."

While it has become almost impossible to retain the league title, Mourinho still has the chance to make history by becoming the first manager to win three European Cups with three different teams after Madrid secured their place in the quarter-finals with victory over Manchester United.

City more than likely, I can't see him going back to work with Roman and Ancellotti is doing well at PSG.Mancini will get booted, Mourinho with City's funds :nervous:

Can't see Mourinho working under director of football, he likes to have total football control like SAF. Also City's director of football are Ex-Barcelona directors who've been hired recently.

It's Chelsea (effectively ruling out a move to us in the future), with an outside chance for PSG (another league he can win the league title and raise their profile, while earning a fortune and waiting until Fergie retires).

Though I got to admit I wouldn't be THAT surprised if Fergie is indeed retiring after this season. There was a poster here who had an interesting theory about Fergie's anger about Nani's dismissal against Real (the fact aside it was horrendous of course): It was his last shot at the European Cup. I'm not convinced, but there could be something to it.

I wouldn't rule out Chelsea at all. I reckon Roman will have learned a lot since he left, I can imagine him settling on Mourinho and no longer being such a complete bellend. He thought the grass was greener on the other side, he has tracked across the wilderness far and wide, he must have satisfied himself that Mourinho is about as green as it gets. I can see Mourinho settling at Chelsea and a period of stability and calm ensuing.

The way he acted against us after our match against Real and also the fact that he gave an exclusive interview to MUTV and Crerand makes me think that he's coming here next season.

I tend to agree with this.

I don't think Ferguson is ready to leave now. Winning another Champions League title seems to be his obsession and we can do it in the next 3 years with this team so I reckon he'll stay to have another go at it.

It was weird wasn't it? Nothing like Mourinho. Didn't celebrate the win? The best team lost? It's very hard not to think that he wants/plans to manage United, but next season? SAF hasn't given any indications that he's leaving the club next season..

It was a bit similar to how he didn't crack a smile after Porto won the CL and then he left.

I don't really buy it, but there are definitely plenty of signs pointing towards this!

I agree it will be Chelsea. Dont see why it rules out amove to another PL side in the future. Mourinho is his own man and will do what he wants - and you can bet iof he comes back to the PL and wins trophies he'll have just as much chance of ending up as Fergie's replacement as any other top manager, regardless of where he's at.

SAF hasn't given any indications that he's leaving the club next season..

After what happened the last time, I don't think he's going to give any indications. Whenever he decides to go, it will be a sudden announcement at the end of the season.

I don't think he will leave after this season, but when he does leave he is not going to give a slightest hint or indication. It will be announced with a press release on the official website first. Then we'll most likely have another manager lined up, ready to be presented shortly after.

There could be an argument that he didn't celebrated out of respect of Sir Alex but the interview with MUTV(Crerand) was very weird. I can't remember any other opposition manager who has given an interview to MUTV like that.

Zaha is a Fergie signing and I am not sure Giggs would have signed a new deal if Fergie was to finish this summer.

Jose surely going to Chelsea

I know he wouldn't give a hint like say it, but I meant I didn't see anything in him so far (lack of desire, lack of energy, lack of emotions, ...etc.) that would hint to me that he's leaving at the end of the season.

Also if he was going this year I don't think he would have re-signed Giggs for another year, nor would Giggs re-sign in my opinion.

Yeah, I think that is the biggest indication of it. Although I'm sure that Giggs would not mind working with Mourinho for a year.
