Even though people have shown & proved to me that schneiderlin does have the ability to pass and be a more attacking focused midfielder; i still doubt he will be used for any midfield role other than at DM. He is a fantastic organiser and his defensive ability is almost as good as a CB. Having two ball playing defenders shielded by an enforcer like schneiderlin seems like a wonderful balance.

I dont see how schweinsteiger & schneiderlin are related in positions at all.

Save for the fact that they can both play the No.8 and No.6 roles to a high standard, they aren't. But it has become apparent that we are keeping Schneiderlin as a back up in case the Schweinsteiger deal doesn't work out otherwise I find it impossible to believe that we actually think that £25m is too much for him.
Unless we have another option in mind we are running a huge risk here because we could end up with neither and for what? A thirty one year old injury prone midfielder who could fail to adjust to this league or have another injury ravaged season that will minimise his impact! Unlike Ramos Schweinsteiger is a bonus signing, the one you make having satisfied the team's immediate needs i.e. Schneiderlin.

I see how schneiderlin schweinsteiger-herrera has balance. I dont see how schweinsteiger as a no 6 brings balance to the team especially not without an even more defensively minded CM being targeted.

IMO the delay is all to do with de gea. Put all the purchases possibly 2 or 3 at the same tkme as a player like de gea leaves.

like Blind? I think if anything Carrick's spell on the side-lines highlighted a defensive gap rather than a playmaker.
No, not like blind. If all I'm reading regarding the playmaking number 6 is correct, then it would be someone like Alonso or Veratti, who can play on the front foot in deep areas. Who can set everything in motion with authority.

Of course it's hard to find them.

SSN is one thing I really don't miss since moving to SA. Jim White and all those tanned tarts with their tits out acting like they know shit.

Actually I just realized I do miss it.

Jim White is a nobend, but leave the tanned tarts and their tits alone.

I don't believe that De Gea's future has any bearing on this signing because we have put the ball in Madrid and De Gea's court. If Madrid decide not to pay up or go significantly towards meeting our demands then De Gea sees how we value him and hiw little Madrid value him and other defensive players, you never know what that does to him.

I don't know what to believe anymore but if we let this slip I'll be livid, to say the least. I agree with your point on Schweinsteiger, if we sign only him then we will be looking at him/Carrick, Herrera and Fellaini in midfield which is basically our position right now minus the Carrick alternative that he will provide. Schneiderlin, on the other hand, is a Fellaini upgrade and a Carrick alternative rolled into one. With Carrick playing him frees Herrera to do his thing in the final third and without Carrick he slots into the DM role and Ander drops deeper bring Mata/Di Maria central, perfect signing.

Towards the end of last season I developed a faint idea of us grooming McNair into a DM seeing that he has the ball skills and a history of playing in midfield in his youth career. Having a solid player like Schneiderlin in the squad allows us to blood in young midfield players and do experiments like the one I'm talking about. Carrick, whilst being superb defensively, lacks the speed and the superiority in one on one encounters to cover the errors that young players are bound to make. Sorry I'm beginning to sound like his agent.

This guy has a great turn of pace, tackles deftly, passes well. Exactly what we need. I cannot see us not signing him at all.

I hope to god this second bid is accepted cos it seems to take us a couple of weeks to prepare a bid!

Both managers want Schneiderlins future done and dusted before pre season starts for both clubs. This will be sorted next week.

We have been hearing the same tune for three weeks now. The media haven't a clue whats going on and they are just speculating. They were late on everything including the first bid.

Come on Woodward - enough is enough. Sign Schneiderlin already so we have a DM ready for the start of the season.

The normally reliable Sport Witness reporting that Arsenal are back in the frame. I hope that Woody is not going to feck this one up by his usual farting about preparing bids.
