Anyone else surprised that City aren't in for him too? A huge upgrade on the Fernando/dinho and Toure in the deeper role.

I'm more surprised that Arsenal aren't making serious waves for him. He's exactly what they need as he is exactly what we need too. We're not going all out for him, it seems. He's there for the taking. Swiping him from our grasp would not only strengthen them, but it would serve a significant blow to us.

Probably, with their financial backing its hard not to be up there with the Beeb.

I guess I am wary of them sometimes because I get the impression they create rumours for their Sky bet offers as well.
They do. But they are worth looking at during transfer season, unlike few other places to be honest.

It's not once off at all, they've got it wrong quite a few times. As someone else mentioned above Gundogan was another more recently.

For me I've always gone with BBC as being the most reliable, more often then not they only print what is absolute fact.

BBC are most solid, imo Sky have been very trigger happy lately.

No one else is being linked anymore

Imo, biggiest signal this is just a matter of time

(but **** i hope its soon!)

Oh yeah BBC are 10x more reliable than Sky. They have been even when Sky were good.

Gundogan's situation seemed to have changed rapidly. You can't always blame Sky for reporting that he was leaving and in talks with us when that might've been the case and what they heard at the time. There seemed to be quite a few factors which made Gundogan stay at Dortmund, one apparently being the huge wages he was demanding.

However, they never used to report situations like the one I said just above. They seem to report things at the first sign of it being possible where as they used to wait a bit until it was at a more advanced stage.

Defo, feeding the transfer muppets!

The really know how to jazz things up though to get you hooked!

I think they just moved too quick on the story, gave a very precise statement regarding the transfer and it didn't do them any favours.

Sky has gone downhill since all that 'HQ' shite and 'BREAKING NEWS' crap they do.

Used to actually be a time when "Sky Sports understands" or "Sky Sources" meant something pretty fecking concrete. Now it's shite more often than not. Even "Sky can confirm" has been devalued.

SSN is one thing I really don't miss since moving to SA. Jim White and all those tanned tarts with their tits out acting like they know shit.

Actually I just realized I do miss it.

and deadline day is the absolute feckin worst! Utter garbage rehashed for 12 hours straight! They eventually get so desperate so any one driving a car into the grounds is hyped up like its Messi arriving at Leicester City!

Jim White on that day is horrific. Shouting over feck all. Awful.

I thought people might like the video! The Apres Match guys do some great stuff :)

Was worth watching just for people shouting "feck her in the pussy" -- also, Harry's car door.

They spoke at the end of the season like they had most of it wrapped up..

I didn't see LVG or anyone at United speaking of anything. They might want to do business early all they want but if the player has no release clause, his club can decide to hold on to him and there's nothing anyone would do about it..

We must be waiting for sweinstieger to make is mind up or we would have wrapped this up by now .

The technical number 6 being key to lvg's system, someone else mentioned this, might be one reasons why we aren't jumping at this. Makes sense as well. If lvg wants someone who can control a game from deep areas this guy doesn't really suit that.

like Blind? I think if anything Carrick's spell on the side-lines highlighted a defensive gap rather than a playmaker.

Since they play two different roles, I don't think that we are waiting for Schweinsteiger before concluding this transfer. We are just trying to have the best deal possible.

I get that but even if we were to get the ultimate technical No.6 Sergio Busquerts we'd still need the physicality that someone like Schneiderlin possesses if we are to avoid getting bullied in this league. So for me, signing Schneiderlin is a no brainer because he is the player we need to avoid having to play Fellaini as a starter, granted they are two different players but each would bring the physicality we need but the main difference is that Morgan is a midfielder we can use either as a defensive box to box, part of a double pivot or as the main anchor. Basically it should not be an either or between him and Schweinie and if we have approached this window thinking it is then we are in for a rough ride because it's a dangerous game where we could end with neither whilst we actually need both.
When push comes to shove we would be better off signing MS because at least the chances of him being injured at the same time as MC are very remote but with Schweinsteiger it's almost guaranteed to be a regular occurance.

The ultimate number 6 for van gaal would be javi martinez not busquets. Saying that i think busquets is twice the player.

Javi Martinez needs to remind people again how good he is. He's played too little due to injuries. He's easily the best defensive midfielder when fit IMO.

You flip the false 9 position around and you get the false CB position. Thats when the 433 becomes the 352. IMO thats what van gaal is slowly building us towards.

You are right that martinez is unlucky due to injuries but still the CB/CDM hybrid players are few & far between.

Unfortunate for united that Martinez and Strootman have both suffered serious injury as either would have been pretty useful for them.

We should have signed Martinez while he was still with Athletic, there's no chance Bayern will sell him now, especially when he's getting fit again. Unlike Schneiderlin, who isn't as good but should be available to us.

Yeah and he is one of the few you could play behind a Di Maria- Herrera duo and still feel secure against being runover whilst being good enough on the ball to control the match from that position. With a DM like Martinez you don't need an all action defensive box to box but he is not a realistic transfer.

Schneiderlin is half the playmaker Carrick is but what we miss most when Carrick is out is the defensive assurance that he brings. Besides we Herrera, Mata and Carrick himself to structure the attacks what we lack is someone who will stop teams when Carrick isn't around and this lad can play too.
