Oh dear probably rubbish then, but if we really are waiting on Ramos, and Schweinsteiger before we move for Otemendi, and Schenerderlin then end of the week would make sense, with Copa finishing soon, and Schneiderlin wanting to get things sorted.

Schneiderlin would probably be the better signing given his age and from everything I read.
But if lets be fair here, if Schweinstiger performs like he can he's twice the player schneiderlin is. We're talking about a guy who has been among the absolute top midfielder in the game for years. He's been a beast of a midfielder, and better than cafe favourite Vidal.
Not saying he's the better signing. He probably isn't. Schneiderlin is younger, fitter and has I assume has all the hunger what with his peak ahead of him, and that's the kind of player I want us to sign too. But we should remember how good schweinstiger can be.

Hopefully Schweinsteiger gives us an answer soon. That can be the only thing holding off a bid.

I don't even get why this is a choice. Fellaini plays almost as second striker. We need numbers as well in deep midfield areas.

Theoretically, we could and should actually buy both, Schneiderlin is versatile enough and different enough to play two positions.
There's the age and fitness issues too. If our answer to Carrick coming to the end is signing a 30 year old who played 15 league games this season, it seems very shortsighted

I don't think any of these journalists know anything. He is linked to Spurs because of Poccetino, linked to Arsenal because he is French and a defensive midfielder and Arsenal are always linked to them and linked to us from that French article and we're usually just linked to everyone. Basically he could go to any team and these journalists know feck all.
I really, really want Schneiderlin. It's such an obvious purchase. The complaining so far has been really futile but if we pass up on this and inadvertently strengthen Arsenal in an important position then I'll be a bit narked.
There is only Javi Martinez I'd want more than him tbh. Seems like the perfect Carrick replacement and would compliment Herrera so well. Not to mention how much easier our CBs it would have with him. From Blind to him is such a huge upgrade.
