You can see him going to Arsenal, depressing to be honest, if the get Cech and Schneiderlin this summer it will elevate them to Chelsea's strength. :(

It's extremly concerning we aren't being linked to him, he is a perfect Carrick replacement and I think he has the ability to surpass him too. We should be all over him a double swoop for him and Clyne would be fantastic.

Sadly he will more than likely end up at arsenal with the rest of the frenchies, which is worrying tbh because with a proper DM like schneiderlain they will be serious contenders.

Everytime I see this thread bumped I get excited. Stop it people :(

I definitely rate him, but why do you think he can surpass Carrick? Also where do you see him being put at Arsenal when they have Coquelin there?

Well he is only 25 I think we signed carrick at roughly that age too, I would say that they are both pretty much equal they both share similar attributes on the pitch but I read Last season schneiderlain made the most tackles, run the most kilometres and made the most interceptions out of any player in the league. He basically has Carricks ability to read a game and passing ability but with more athleticism. That's why I think he could surpass him.

Arsenal just seems like the team that would suit him most tbh I could easily imagine him there more so than anywhere else. As I said all the French links will help him settle quick and the way arsenal play suits him perfectly.

well as a defensive midfielder I agree he edges Carrick, but as a playmaker he is nowhere near. It depends on how you want to play.
Arsenal is not exactly free ride with injury, so he may have a place

He will compete with Coquelin for the DM slot if he comes. I think Wenger would prefer someone with a bit more about them (say Lars Bender) but Schneiderlin is a decent option.

how has Ramsey done with injuries recently? I don't know anyone from your midfield to sustain, Caz is 30 now, Coq is the only one to spring to mind

out of all the positions we need strengthening, DM is top priority. fits the bill so its disappointing that we're not in for the best DM player outside of the top 4.

Ramsey has had hamstring issues this season but is hopefully over them. I always saw Wenger as gagging to play Ramsey/Jack as the CM pair and bugger the pure DM.

Our apparent lack of interest is mind boggling. He's exactly what we need.

His tackling and reading of the game is about the same level as Carrick but Carricks passing and controlling the tempo of the game is on another level.

What do you mean by a bit more about them? As when I've seen Lars Bender he's always struck me as a very basic DM, nothing that really stands out.

More athleticism and pace, better user of the ball and potential to offer more going forward.

Wenger will stick with Coq au vin and spend his cash on a flashy player instead

If reports are to be believed and Spurs are favourites, we should be doing all we can to blow them out of the water. Him and another 8 would see our midfield set for the foreseeable.

If Spurs are to be believed are in for him .No way we would be involved.

Schniederlin is just the type of player we need to protect the back 4, very similar to Matic at Chelsea. Hopefully LvG is interested in him, otherwise i can see him go to Arsenal or Chelsea and make a difference to their teams.

I remember all the same things being said about Cabaye. Never been convinced by either that they should be playing at a team with our aspirations.

Cabaye wouldn't have been a bad buy, nothing great, had we tried last January. However, Schneiderlin is far better than Cabaye ever was; he'd be the perfect player to replace Carrick, considering all circumstances.

Word on the street is Spurs are in poll to sign him.

"Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin joining Tottenham this summer from 10/1 to 6/4, following an ‘enormous’ flurry of bets. ...

Michael Bowers, Football Trader for Betfair commented "Rumours have been circulating linking the 25 year old Frenchman to almost every big club in the Premier League and Arsenal have been leading the charge in the betting, with them accounting for 70 per cent of all of bets taken. ..."

“Today has seen enormous support for their North London rivals however, and we’ve been forced to cut Spurs from 10/1 to 6/4 favourites. ...."

I've never thought that Cabaye was the player we should be happy with, but Schneiderlin is the real deal. I think he should be our priority over the like of Gundogan and Vidal.

He's way to good for Spurs. Surely he knows that too?

I think hes great but not a chance....he has nowhere near Carrick's range of passing.

Feck stats but...

Players of a similar mould if you ask me, just goes to show how great of a season he had.

Agree with most of that, but there's alot to be said that he's the best DM in the league Bloxy..

Matic also of course..
You know I said wrote outside the top 4 right?
I'd go one further and only Matic and Carrick are better, yet he is better than Matic when it comes to vision and passing, and more physical than Carrick when it comes to defending.

Yeah of course, but my point being - he's just as good (if not better) as players in the top 4 also..

Wouldnt swap him for Carrick of course, but would be great to see both play together for us though!

Yeah I'd say he's the nieche inbetween the two.
