Schneiderlin/Carrick
Schweinsteiger/Herrera Herrera/Fellaini

I think Pereira has to go on loan

I think you'll be wrong on this. We, as in fans, may have only found out about Schweinsteiger yesterday but it won't be when Utd knew they were getting him - that would have been a while ago. During that time we still made a formal move for Schneiderlin. As for the delay in going back to Southampton with another bid - formalising the Schweinsteiger move strengthens our hand in the sense that Southampton can't play the "desperate" card. A compromise will be reached - and I don't think it will be long before we hear.

Told you! @Julian Denny

Well I'll be skipping to work today like I just got laid.

Midfield is finally sorted! Just wish we got an extra centre defender in and one striker before the tour. Now we may have to wait till deadline day....

I don't think we're getting him as we're not very interested.

Think back to the fact that we bid once and haven't made much of a move in over three weeks. The whole "Man United remain interested" is garbage, as we're not revealing anything to the journalists. Briefs and leaks are misleading, simple as that. Then, on Wednesday (maybe Thursday), Mike Keegan went out of his way to compile an article on how we sent out negotiators to push for a deal, which, I believe, was quite simply a smokescreen for the Schweinsteiger deal. And then bang! Friday night and German sources start revealing our bid has been accepted for the German midfielder. If we truly were interested, Schneiderlin would be here. FFS we paid £25m for Depay, a player who we don't actually need or aren't desperate for. Yet we refused to pay the asking price for a player we (previously) required.
:lol: Patience you muppet!

Use plenty of KY next time and find a nice soft pillow to sit on.

Knowing my boss she would probably say, dont worry, do some work tomorrow but I tempt my faith. :D

:D, I want to slipped off work and go home early, press F5 every minute till I see both Sch in a United jersey so much. But i am no Gerrard.

Very pleased about this one, excellent signing for us, the midfield is looking stellar.

Absolutely man & we got what me & you wanted - 2 CM's. Whoooo-hoooo :D

Now onto 2 CB's & 1 or 2 Strikers & we're sorted :devil:

This has been a f*ckin surreal & bizarre window so far for us. The signings have been muppet dreams that have now become a reality. It's just mental carry-on altogether :eek:

Quick roundup of posts I put on quote earlier

Not to mention like 5-6 clubs are all over him so we should sort it out like in hours. :lol:
You called it sir. It was sorted out in hours

But, but, lvg clearly only wanted him as backup??? Ha ha. Some people panicking earlier. We always wanted him.
The panic was really strange. There was nothing to suggest it was a case of either/or.

:drool::drool:

I'm gonna have a busy morning at work.
This gonna be good. :lol::nervous:

Florentino Perez, who? Ed is the man.

@pocco , @Drifter Commiserations!
:lol: They'll still find some fault though. Just you wait.

I have cut my gym session short this morning so I look on here and read everything from last night before I start work.

:D:D:D

Can't go to bed when Edorama Festival is on. I'm really happy with this, and this makes the signing of Schweinsteiger even better as I feared Morgan was the 2nd option. Schneiderlin ticks all the boxes for me: PL proven, perfect age and last but not least, finally real quality to replace Carrick. What a signing.

Feel sorry for Southampton though. They've done amazingly well and seems to do everything right when it comes to running a football club, but up steps the bigger clubs to do everything they cant to ruin their progress. Hopefully their signings will kick on like the ones they purchased last summer.

Love the total silence during the negotiation stage. Seems to me that both clubs had an agreement to keep it completely under the radar, probably to give both clubs the best negotiation climate as possible for both the Schneiderlin case and other recruits (Clasie, Schweinsteiger). Well done United and Southampton.

Buzzing! :D

Is it me or does the winking smiley wink really profusely? Like he's having some sort of fit.

It really isn't, carrick's passing range is alot better and can be more direct.

He's still very good though, tons more steel then the current carrick. Good legs and a great challenge, just don't think he dictates games/pace as much as some think on here. That's the biggest difference between them both.

We didnt buy him to dictate games, we bought him to make us solid & win the ball back / break up attacks. He's just what we need, as we looked toothless & wimpish in CM last season.

I kept reflecting on the Ince & Keano combo last season & now i wont have to do that this season with our new additions - converged with Carrick, Herrera & Fellaini too.

I can see the latter being played up top with Rooney on a more permanent basis though (when he comes on from the bench). He's very effective at causing a shit-storm for defenders. But he's an option in CM too & he gives us extra physicality (same as Morgan & Basti) which is frightening for the opposition - as we seen last season. They dont know how to deal with Fellaini - i doubt his Ma & Da even know..

Aye, the second one in my post actually does, though the first one seems normal. Must have gotten something "shot" in his eye, spying on myself and the Schwein like that! ;)
Ana is beside me, heartbroken. I'm considering helping out. :D
Hahahaha, maybe try being a team player and introduce her to DDG!

DELIGHTED!!! Honestly thought this one would be going elsewhere after Schweini was announced, but I am absolutely ecstatic that we've gone and bought him as well. Our midfield is starting to look insanely good.

Wow, I went to bed, woke up this morning, logged on Facebook and there it was. Perfect way to wake up.

So who's next? Otemendi seems like it's almost done, then we just need a striker! This could be the best window ever. We're going to be so disappointed next summer, we've been spoiled this year and last.

In a way, these moves have given me confidence that we dont nesseracily need to target a well known CB like Ramos. It would be great but wont be the end of the world if we pull of a CB similar to us getting vidic couples years back.

It's on a plate to get Otamendi - just hope we get that deal done. So that's yer man right there.

Ramos would be massive bonus, but that looks far-fetched. I said the same about Bastian coming here though; so you never know - it could trigger alot of players desires to come to us & talk endlessly about philosophy..

Shame on all the pesimistic bunch lead by Sam.

Never doubt Woody again.

Absolutely. I think we're all as shocked as you mate. Our midfield has finally started to look solid & optional now. No more Rooney playin there too - up front is where he should be all the time.

Next stop - CB's & Strikers & we're whistling dixie :D:devil:

"I heard rumours we were working on this deal for 4, 5 months. Sure I'm glad we got it sorted but the fact we worked so long on a transfer should send alarm bells and it means its something dead work with our transfer dealings."

Paranoid, pessimistic mode off. :D
