Mo Salah

Wonder what the odds are on him aggravating his injury. I'm not convinced he's fully fit, but there's very little that could stop him from taking part in this World Cup.

No, I'm not either. But he's making the 1st game, apparently.

Knew it.

He was hardly injured and from being out of the WC plays the opening game.

What a stab to the back of Liverpool and Klopp.

I can smell your wumface through the laptop, tr.

Joking aside though it's a pretty spectacular turnaround which has to make you wonder if he could have made it 10 minutes to half time?

I can fully understand why he'd pick a WC with his country over Liverpool though. He's only been with you 12 months.
Nah he had no way of knowing how bad it was at the time. The pain might’ve been too much for him at that moment.

We’re not all superhero’s like you. ;)

Even as a pool fan myself I think mo thought when he went down after the ramos challenge this hurts and I don't want to risk playing what could be his only world cup with his country. So hobles off.

That's what I think happened.

Klopp said it was serious post game but now we know it was only a bit of a knock.

I think Salah could have played on but he mentally went.

If Spain top group A as many expect and Egypt take second spot in-group B behind Uruguay there could be a tasty Round of 16 clash which could see Salah v Ramos round two - how tasty would that be?

Salah not starting. But....but...but the injury was so minor he could've played on in CL Final.

They then proceed to put on a show of fairplay, and at the end of the game they swap shirts only for Salah to "refuse" the Spain shirt, then Ramos brings him a real madrid one thus announcing his signing for real madrid :drool::drool:

obviously, he is not a real patriot, but is playing it safe to stay fit for his club so he can land himself a fat new contract.

I'd love if Egypt met Spain and Ramos made clean shit of Salah, again.
Disclaimer: I'm not wishing injury on Salah, he's likable. RAWK would be funny, though.

He was being a wuss let's be honest, nothing was even broken.

They're just being over protective, Liverpool have probably threatened a petition against them if he gets re-injured.

Basing themselves in Grozny is such weird decision. They'll have a 2,500 km trip to Yekaterinburg and two hour time difference to play their opener, then another two hour shift and 2,000 km trip West to St Petersburg and finally another 1,700km East to Volgograd.
Which team is that ? Egypt or Uruguay?

Manager said he was fit to play, not start.

I don't reckon he'll get on at any stage today, fwiw.

And won't look fit if he does. Probably play half an hour & score at least twice now - but it is Gnasher's mob so don't mind that too much.

This non (starting) appearance is clearly a bitter blow for the ''he was never really hurt'' camp though - :D.

I knew the instant he wouldn't be starting the game vs Uruguay when the man himself stated that he was "optimistic" and "vowing" to be fit for WC the next day after the CL. That was a lifting the spirits for the Egyptians only.

Sadly I was right. In hindsight of course. Maybe next game. It does not seem that Egypt is missing him that much at the moment vs Uruguay. No need for Cuper to risk him yet.

From Cuper's comments, it won't be a surprise if he doesn't play at all.

Should have brought him on for the last 20 25 minutes could have won them the game.

This is the player that a lot of you were saying was much better than CR7 this days?!... :wenger::lol:

Have you ever had a bad shoulder injury? Trust me when I say it is nothing to be sniffed at - even if you didn't break anything.

He definitely benefits from the Liverpool system, but this Egypt team are very poor.

You can see when he gets the ball he's still got quality, but without Firmino / Mane taking up the other defenders he's not able to isolate players 1v1.

Not gonna judge him off this but if this was a United player, say Pogba going off in tears in a Champions League final and then doing nothing in a crucial game like this (apart from a miss that he'd normally score) he'd be branded weak, a choker and not up for it etc; etc;

I expect a million excuses.

I was mainly winding up the Liverpool fan TBH, Yes I've broken my collar bone before and I couldn't play on fully.

He's had a better season than Ronaldo, yes. Playing in a poor Egypt side doesn't change that.

Hahahaha of course. He had a better season despite having scored less goals than CR7 while playing much more games, and winning absolutely nothing while Ronaldo won the UCL, CWC, etc...
