Mo Salah

So, what do we make of this? Fake news? Nothing in it? Or, enough for the FA to throw the book at him?

With only 2 games remaining, if he gets a ban for that, he won't break the goals scored record. Am assuming the only reason he played 97 minutes today was so he could get that record.

Needs to be on a new page in case any journos lurking and who want to pick up a free story:smirk:

Fat chance

You really do have to wonder after 100s of replays of Smalling shirt pulling, why haven't the media even picked up on this? Am not holding my breath.

He was crap today and missed a big big chance early in the game.

It happens, not the end of the world. Our midfield doesn't help the guy much, need better players in there than what we have. Need another couple of additions as well as Keita in midfield in the summer in my opinion.

I think the fact that he (luckily) didn't catch him and apparently offered an apology straight after doing it will see nothing come of it.

Also there's the chance the ref may have seen it given he was looking in that direction which if mentioned in his report won't that negate any possible action?

All that said it's the FA so anything could happen from here!

Not so nice, Mo?

If intentional, and it seems so, definitely should be banned. Would really love that, I don't think Liverpool will be as marauding in front of goal without him, even if they still have Mane and Firmino.

Well, at least City fans can feel vindicated for once. If it was one of theirs, it would be splashed all over the media.

Although it would have been the same if Suarez had done it back in his Liverpool days, but Salah is their player of the year, Good Guy Mo, and this doesn’t fit in with the articles they’ve been writing so best to pretend it didn’t happen.

However, this trial by media thing is bullshit. The evidence is there, it shouldn’t need to be on the back pages of tabloids for it to be acted on, but apparently it does.

Be hilarious if he got banned, they miss out on top 4 and he misses out on the goal scoring record

Like it or not reds are rarely given to players who do this sort of action where there is no contact. Vieira tried to kick van Nistelrooy and he only got a (second) yellow.

No no. They need to make the final for the loss to be all the more crushing

That's just not true though. For us to lose in the semi's would be much worse. If we do make the final then we'll be the under-dogs anyway. Don't get me wrong, a loss in the final wouldn't be fun, but we'd at least have made the Champions League final.

I don't think you'd find a single Liverpool fan that would agree with you, with respect.

Which accounts for nothing. Trust me, you will be crushed

A lot of times he should just pass the ball to his temmate to score a open goal but he tends to shot 90% of time. If this current form is his nivel for the rest of his career, its ok, but if its a purple patch it will be a problem.

It pretty much does, United lost in 09 and 11. Can't say I have any fond memories. The only thing is that you are at least in the mix.

Yeah, that's fair enough. I don't remember '07 as fondly as '05 but it's still about progress. I would rather make the final and fall at the last, than just go out in the semi's.
Remember, this is our first season back in a few years and many predicted we'd fall apart having Europe to deal with.

I'm not going to pretend I wouldn't be gutted to lose, if we get there but I still have some perspective.

Yeah, it's better to make the final than not but going all that way and failing is gutting in a way that is much worse than going out in the group stage or such.

Definitely. It's also helped I think, that each team since Porto I've been thinking 'we could go out here' or 'we won't get past City over two legs'. Now it's 'If Roma are on it at home.....'

It's the worry that's keeping me honest!

Perfect opportunity for the FA to ban him so that their snowflake golden boy gets a free shot at the golden boot. Come on FA, do the right thing for once and get him banned.

Maybe that's why you only have three. You don't value the competition enough.

I value the CL very highly but no one remembers the losers.

Trueish. On the other hand, if you prefer a great chance over a small-time domestic cup instead of a decent chance at the best trophy in club football, I'd say that sounds like the mentality of a loser.

Blatant ban offence, no brainer for fa especially as a ban will have no real consequence
