Mo Salah

So two wrongs make a right?

Confused where the first wrong was, wasn't it deemed as not a bannable offence? So surely the second one isn't wrong neither as it's no worse than what Hegazi did and Salah didn't even make contact. Really not hard for a person to argue that if Hegazi's isn't bannable neither is Salah's.

This really peeves me off, Ashley Young get's a 3 game ban for a short elbow to the belly.

Elneny gets sent off for a slap to the face, but somehow it gets rescinded.

Elgazi clearly punches Ings who actually complains to the ref, no punishment given.

Salah has now given out a quick hook (perhaps didn't make huge contact) but where is the consistency?

I made a threat about this before, the only reason Young got banned was because BT sport decided to make a huge deal out of it and repeat it several times.

Trueish. On the other hand, if you prefer a great chance over a small-time domestic cup instead of a decent chance at the best trophy in club football, I'd say that sounds like the mentality of a loser.

Its' apples and oranges really. On the one hand, you can get your hands on a real trophy. On the other, you are making it to the final of the most prestigious football competition at the end of the season, which almost feels like a party in itself even if you go on to lose.

Both are equally desirable for different reasons and neither should be discredited. Now if the question was "is winning UCL better than winning FA Cup", the answer would always be in the affirmative.

Really can't make a fair assessment based on that video on the last page. Yes he does something, but it's impossible to see what's really going on. Is he swinging to hit, or just waiving, frustration... who knows. The ones making the decision will have better footage of course. I did see that Hegazi-incident though, and that's three games. Retaliation, violent (although not the hardest punch, but that's not the point) - a travesty if he escaped punishment.

Maybe that's why you only have three. You don't value the competition enough.
Yep we have only 3 because Trizy of RedCafe doesn't value it more . What about when Brendan Rodgers played a B-team at the Bernabeu? Shows a lot of respect for the competition that.

Back on topic, the Salah punch is getting more traction in the press now. Would be wonderful if the FA ban him.

Well seeing as it's already been decided by the FA that he won't be banned good luck with that.

Not scoring against Stoke means nothing. However Klopp should have a plan B for these types of games... like maybe dropping Salah a bit deeper or switching him oer to the left.

A panel of three referees reviewed the Hegazi punch. No punishment.

I don’t care at this stage, it’ll have no impact on the season but you’ve got to wonder what goes through their heads at the FA. It’s the inconsistency that winds people up.

No impact? If Chelsea win their remaining games and Brighton manages to nick a point from the bin dippers, they could end up in fifth... So of course it can have a massive impact. And if Mane is injured, their front three would be Ings, Firmino and Solanke

Yeah I guess it could. I've basically written Chelsea's chances off in my head so dismissed it here.

Absolutely visibly shattered. Hope he can score one more league goal so we can send him on holiday for three weeks.
It would be mad to play him against Chelsea, he looked bit dead on his feet at points in that game.

Your link doesn't work for me, but here:

Can't defend that. No need for it, regardless of situation.

When he doesn’t score, he really doesn’t contribute all that much these last few matches. Even in games where he has scored a couple, his overall contribution hasn’t been all that. But, when you bag a couple of goals every match or so, who cares?

His style of play is to be right on the last line of defence. Mane is the one who gets more involved, but Salah is the finisher.

Klopp should just rest him for the last game. He looks jaded. They need him fresh for the CL final.

Tiredness produces petulance. His diving and attempting to punch Bruno Martins Indi imply he's a bit shot. Hopefully, if he fails to find the net in the league, that would dent his confidence to an extent for the CL Final.

They have a 2 week break between the final league game and the final so he should be fine regardless.

Huge predicament for Klopp. He desperately needs to rest him against Brighton but it’s a huge risk as they’re one dimensional and impotent without him.

Only just seen the Salah punch. Has anything been done about it, because its a bannable offence if I've ever seen one.

Committee of three said no action was merited.

Yeah, I know.

They have a week's rest until Brighton, then two weeks' between Brighton and the Champions League final so it'll probably be ok to play him in both.

Not really, on the contrary actually. Two weeks between that game and the final - you don’t want three between games. I mean, that’s the same as a whole summer vacation for most people. Salah would have played against Brighton regardless
