MLB 2014

Offensively the Yankees are beginning to look...........bad. A ton of it stems from Girardi not getting it down in terms of setting the lineup, under no circumstances should Jeter be batting 2nd anymore, legend that he is if he wants to go out winning he should be towards the bottom of the order, he is hitting for singles nowdays. Gardner needs to pull his head out of his arse and starting swinging the bat instead of watching hittable stuff go by just because he wants to maintain his rep of running up counts. Honestly you take Ellsbury out of this lineup and it looks old and pretty weak, now the rotation is starting to look shaky too.

On the plus side Tex looks more like his usual self and McCann/Beltran are bound to heat up again soon. Just a brutal loss last night though, brutal. We had so many chances to walk off in multiple extra innings and just couldn't get it done.

As a mets fan, I know how this feels:(
we an't been to bad this year so far! Our offense has been a bit dire. but our rotation has been pretty good and made u for it, and it likely to get better when Harvey fit again and Syndergaard is ready.
is we can just get some decent offense we will be a real contender.

PS: great to see an MLB thread on here, tried to start one in the newbies but it failed miserably!

My god, what the feck has happened to the braves. 6 losses in a row, and an absolutely terrible batting average.

I liked him at the Yankees, he was actually really good until he got hurt and just wasn't the same when he got back that year.

He's still better than CC. 3 more years of $24 million avg for a 90 mph non-finesse pitcher with the 3rd worst ERA of any qualified starter. Yuk.

We have been decent so far. We need to get our offence going again

He was amazing for the A's last season. After getting rid of both him and Balfour their bull pen is struggling. Great addition for the mets though.
yeah lots of mets fans don't seem happy we got him, personally im delighted, he may only throw fastballs(that mostly of the time arn't that fast), but he is so subtle with his variation, batters struggle against him. so im delighted we got him especially with Harvey out

and i don't have much sympathy for the A's billy aways seems to find a way to win and their top of the AL west.

yeah was really hoping granderson would come in firing but it hasn't happened.
think we are gonna have to rely on pitching as offence is so expensive and i can't seem alderson forking out a huge sum to upgarde what we have got too much, and their doesn't seem to be too much coming u through the minors either.

still where winning at mo so lets be happy

Granderson was one of my favourite Yanks, when he gets going hes a real plus point to any lineup. I won't ever miss watching him strikeout a million times a year though.

this has been really get on my nerves, recently, the guys got a great pop when he acually hits it, but at the citi field that counts for nothing, so we just get him striking out or hitting fly balls that just get caught easliy... getting very depressing, but then most of out offense is depressing!

Yep he's all or nothing and at Citi Field it tends to be nothing a bit more often. Honestly even though he was injured for a lot of last year when he came back both times he didn't look like the same player, he was swinging at garbage and not running the count.

He will probably figure it out but I don't see him hitting 40+ HR's again which he kind of has to do to justify hitting in the low .200's. Is he atleast still playing good defense?

ell he good at running down fly balls, but his throwing is a has a lot to be desired, but he a lot better than Chris Young who.

Welp... http://espn.go.com/dallas/mlb/story...lder-texas-rangers-season-ending-neck-surgery

Profar is out again as well. They must have pissed off the baseball gods seeing as Fielder is the 14th player to appear on the DL this season.

This is mind-boggling front office management. They should always screen a potential acquisition. Not that a neck problem would have been screened or even found at the time, but a full physical should be a minimum policy at the club. Especially with a fat ass on a bloated contract.

---
Daniels doesn't second-guess the fact that Fielder didn't get a physical prior to the trade going through this offseason.

"In this case, a cervical MRI, at least for us, has not been part of our standard physical," Daniels said. "A guy that had no history and no documentation, no treatment and no issues that anyone was aware of, had we done a physical, we wouldn't have done a cervical MRI. There may be other clubs that do that as standard practice. We're going to look into that. The bigger question is: 'How do we get better?' "---

Mets actually won last night:) and against the Dodgers!!!!! :) :)
Niese pitched a beauty and even got a hit!!!

But did you see Puig's catch? thing of beauty!

A friend of mine was all hyping up the Tigers a couple weeks ago as possibly the third best team in club history. Right up there with the 68 and 84 sides. I was like let's hold off until October before anointing them the next greatest thing in sports.

Man, Dellin Betances has been incredible for the Yankees this year. K/9 of 15 and a half. FIP of 0.86.

He is electric to watch, he actually looks unhittable when he's on it. Fastball at 96-99mph, knuckle curve at 79-86mph. He does this to so many hitters its crazy:

The other day he made someone swing on consecutive pitches that would have hit them in the knees, then struck him out. The next series he strikes out 5 of 6 on 22 pitches. Damn shame he couldn't make it as a starter with his control issues but I'm happy enough to see him make it as a reliever, on his current path he could be a closer inside a year if the Yankees let Robertson walk. Love watching him, one of the few bright spots on the Yankees so far this season.

Love the draft, bit boring to watch once the top picks are done but its always really interesting to see how it goes.

wow...

HS LHP Brady Aiken is the warm favourite to go number 1 to the Astros. The Marlins should then take LHP Carlos Rodon although they have been linked to HS C/RF Alex Jackson. The White Sox at 3 would then be between HS RHP Tyler Kolek and RHP Aaron Nola, with the late buzz being that Kolek is slipping. The Cubs at 4 might take Jackson if he falls, which would make the internet explode.

WOW. The Marlins went for Tyler Kolek. Buzz that he was slipping was wrong. Rodon to the Sox?

Man the Tigers are so shitty. It's honestly what they get for having like 4 nine-figure contracts on their books. They have to penny-pinch that bullpen and shit like this happens.:lol:
Dropped 13 of 17. In-fecking-credible. Except for Sanchez, the rotation is to blame.
