MLB 2014

Is there any comparison between teams of the MLB, and say the EPL? Not even serious comparison , but likeness in terms of teams.

Is it normal for players to reject offers? Ie Santana rejecting the Royals. Was it because he was looking for more money?

It's not like here where typically the players want to go to the best teams. 99% of the time they'll take the most money. Contracts are guaranteed, unlike the NFL.

Still can't believe how the Atlanta game went in the last two innings. During the 6th inning I was expecting it to be boring for the rest of it. Both Atlanta and the Mets got 4 in the last two innings. Is it normal for a game to change like that near the end?

Seems I've become fond of Atlanta and the Mets(because of Bartolo). How do most people rate them?

The Braves are good, although they'll probably come second in their division. They have a reputation as being cranky dickheads who always bleat on about the game being played the right way. The Mets are bad, and although they should get better, they don't have an amazing farm system like a couple of the other strugglers.

So basically the equivalent of City fans, 10 years on.

The Braves have been a really well run franchise in the past 25 years but they haven't been able to win the big one as often as they should.

The Mets/Everton comparison is pretty apt. Both are depressing and play under the shadow of a local rival. I wouldn't pick the Mets because of Colon, he will be retiring soon.

Not sure yet. I'm going to keep watching and learn more about the game. Ideally I'd like a team who are going to compete for the WS, but aren't seen as top contenders for it. Outsiders, but comfortable in knowledge that they've got the talent to get there with some luck.

Is there somewhere I can watch extended highlights of games, as in 25/30 mins? Does MLB show them?

That's great how they condense games into a short span like that, unlike all those Fox Sports affiliates and ESPN Classic with boring three-hour replays of classic games. Condense that shit so I might watch!

I've become fond of the Braves, they've ok odds(and I'm not expecting them to), but what's a good place for them to reach?

Justin Upton is impressive. Gatiss too. I've no idea of how the playoffs are done.
Got a quick explanation, or link to a youtube vid?
Some lad is predicting the WS to be Braves vs Angels.

Each division winner makes the first round and are seeded by record.

The two non division winners with the best records play 1 game for the 4th seed.

4th seed plays 1st seed in a 7 game series
2nd seed plays 3rd seed in a 7 game series

Winners play in a 7 game series for a spot in the World Series

Ah. How long would it last from playoffs to the WS?

Damn, Abreu looks legit. I thought he might take some time to adapt to the league but doesn't look like he needs it.
