Mikel Arteta | Lego Pep watch

Now Klopp has gone, he has to be the most hated manager in the league. I mean Pep is at least funny. Lego Pep is just a bitter man.

Klopp was a wanker but at least he was successful and earned his wankery arrogance. This gimp has won sweet feck all, barring an FA Cup against Frank Lampard, and has no reason to be such a smug twat. He's certainly universally detested these days.

A final in which Anthony Taylor gift wrapped them the winning goal

I don't think Arsenal fans are to enamoured with him either. His football style used to be decent, they are boring now

Their fans on here seem a-bit cult like towards him. My brother supports them and has never bought into the hype about him.

Another quote from the Lego Pep after tonight's game.

"Are we going to win big trophies? I don't know but playing like this there are very few teams in the World that can play at that level"

He's right though. Very few teams can. You have to have a specialist like Allardyce or Pulis to pull it off.

It’s etched in my memory. Christensen was very clearly fouled and ignored in the lead up to Auba’a winner. Anthony Taylor was also the ref in the 2017 final between us where he let Alexis Sanchez blatant handball go unpunished as he ran into our box and scored. Why do you think Chelsea fans ran a stupid petition to try and get him banned from Chelsea games?

They've got lost in all the hype about how great they are at set pieces and forgot how to play football. Everything rests on corners it seems and the time they take on them really is unbelievable.
I was thinking during the game that Arteta had been replaced as manager by that scruffy looking set piece coach given every corner they had the camera panned to him.

This foul?

He's managed to turn Arsenal into an irrelevant has been to the ugliest team in the league. No class and always looking for the cheap ways to get ahead.

At least Liverpool have some quality about them.

They have their own rules on set plays, they get way longer than the standard time to set up almost like an NFL play it’s a joke and needs to be sorted
Absolutely!

Also I have no idea how they can ever complain about time wasting, given how much time they spend setting up their corners and free kicks.

Yes Bellerin over ran the ball, Christensen won it cleanly, Bellerin walloped into him. As clear as foul as you can get, but the ball fell to someone (Pepe I think) and Auba scored 3 seconds later.

I usually agree with you on most things Pat, can't on this I'm afraid. Christensen wins the ball but it's clear on that angle his momentum wipes out Bellerin, not the other way round.

We played lots of board games over Christmas and my 4 year old daughter is literally a more gracious winner and loser than Arteta. And she’s horrendous. He’s an absolute joke.

Guy said, Arteta is soo negative he can change a pregnancy test by looking at the testing stick.

He has cooked Arteta

Fair enough, we can agree to disagree. It seems evident to me even in the angle you posted above, Christensen wins the ball cleanly and it is Bellerin’s momentum and him being late to ball that causes him to crash into Christensen. Every angle, including the one you kindly posted, show the same thing.

That's the first time I have watched Arsenal this season and the huge amount of time they take over taking corners and free kicks is very irritating to watch and actually really makes them a hard watch. I know that set pieces are important to them but do they do this every match ?

They do. Last season they had a nice balance of steely pragmatism, physicality, organisation and importantly, good football. This season they have moved too far away from the 'good football' part. Far too reliant on set pieces, they have lacked fluidity and generally look flat.
