Mikel Arteta | Lego Pep watch

They've been publicly chasing Cucurella for 2 months and they have 450 midfielders. Don't you think he felt he was unwanted and getting chopped ?
Move to London, quadruple your wages, play more. Very hard to imagine his decision indeed. He is cover for LB/LCB but he's also smart enough to see Tierney can't be relied on.
He will play plenty.
You’ve missed the point. The hard to believe part is a player swapping the City bench for Arsenals bench as the poster he responded to was saying he’d be good cover. If he goes to Arsenal it won’t be to warm the bench was the point.

He started around 15 league games, few cup games and few CL games. Doubt he would be swapping that for few extra games. When players leave because of game time, they usually look for clubs where they are first choice players.

Aye, as a left back, think that was well documented. There's no way we were looking to swap out Gabriel for him, Saliba would probably be ahead of him in the pecking order at centre back as well.
Why? Those two are nothing great.

He played 15 games while being the LB#2, going from LB#3 to LB#1.5 at Arsenal + benefits is an enticing move. Don't know what's so hard to believe. He already got PL medals, he might want to participate a bit more and not just be in the squad pictures.

I had a chuckle at the notion a player would leave Citeh for Arsenal’s bench. There was less delusion after OgS had us finish 2nd.

Isn't it, looks like there is a bit of feel good factor as they won few games in a row so most of the players are bit overrated.

Is exactly the same. Both have had allegations of rape made against them (your player has had two from different individuals infact). Both are under investigation.

The right and proper thing to do would have been to suspend as in every other walk life. Unsurprisingly though Arsenal know best eh!

Glad MPs are calling them out;

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...lub-refusing-suspend-footballer-accused-rape/

How did you feel about re-signing Ronaldo who is documented to have said “she said no and stop several times during sex"?

From the little I can find on the player that can't be named, his accuser, was also a long term partner who he rejected a marriage proposal from. He's left uncharged and likely doesn't have bail conditions because he's in the United States. CPS haven't got the evidence to proceed with any charge

Probably best not talking about it given their own fans can’t help but name him nor do they seem to understand the legal process.

It sounds like you don't. Ever heard of 'Innocent until proven guilty'? Should every man who's falsely accused be out of a job and have his life ruined?

Your player would never have been suspended if there wasn't a publically released recording of him commiting rape and on top of that photo evidence of extreme domestic violence. If he only got arrested and left without charges he would still be playing for United. To pretend it's the same is completely disingenous.

Our squad and first XI is miles better than yours currently and that’s long before our business is even finished. Not a single player from your midfield or back 4 get into our starting XI.
Ehh, combined squads are subjective, people tend to view their own players through rose tinted glasses so I'm not going to get into that. Suffice it to say that your squad + manager are better than Arsenal and if we finish above Chelsea, it would be a (slight) upset or Vieira/Martinelli really exploding into a higher level of quality.

Our business is yet to finish though, so if we get someone like Paqueta or SMS I'd be a lot more confident about our chances.

Trust me, from reading this place United fans are definitely not guilty of that on the whole

I'll take the feel good factor over the got fleeced factor for now. And that 11 points trophy too. Nothing matters until the season start.

Meh who cares, we have class manager and you have poor one.

Another clueless post.

No one mentioned anyone being out of a job but the club should have suspended him and it’s no wonder they are being pulled up on it by the media and MPs.

It sends out an awful message. I’m actually surprised you all seem okay with it if I’m honest.

Sorry but it's very hard to imagine Zinchenko would be trading City's bench for Arsenal's.

That's why I said competition as well as cover. He'll get minutes as a midfielder here that he didn't get at City, but equally as important is that he can provide cover for Tierney, maybe even displace him as first choice.

Why? Those two are nothing great.

You might think they are nothing great, but Arsenal fans who have plenty to moan and complain about usually generally rate Gabriel. He's big, physical, suited to the league and young enough to improve. He's apparently Juves first choice to replace De Ligt.

Saliba is younger and inexperienced but just been named best young player in France, named the the team of the year over there and we want to keep him and develop him and make sure he has a pathway to getting a lot of minutes.

Also, it's yet to be proven how great Martinez will be in England.

Has it been confirmed Partey is the player who was arrested?

Since you keep bringing it up in this thread.

How come you avoided this part?

How did you feel about re-signing Ronaldo who is documented to have said “she said no and stop several times during sex"?

I can only assume that you were vehemently against the signing?

Wasn't there an active trial in Las Vegas?

Otherwise this is just a really tactless points scoring exercise?

Because there’s a thread on Ronaldo and it’s been done to death?

He’s not been accused of anything whilst at the club. If he had he’d be suspended just like Greenwood. That’s the comparison.

You totally miss the point and clearly have no idea about the legal system.

Says more about you than I sadly.
I didn't realise I was talking with a legal guy. Glad to hear you have the facts of the case, and clearly know what is going on behind the scenes, do continue...

Where do you work pal (I assume work, but it might be school)? I might chuck in an accusation against you, and I fully expect them to kick you out without any case being heard, I am sure you won't have a problem with that. I believe in innocent until proven guilty.

It was just a bitter dig against another club. I get it.

Maybe, i like ETH and what he's done with Ajax but from what i read here, there really is huge expectations that he will make it all okay. He has a massive job ahead of him.
Season kicks off in a month, your main target is still not here, you basically have no real striker, and he's set for a few weeks of questionning over who starts at CB if you don't start well.
As good as he is he's going to need a lot of good fortune. Arteta will clearly need to show something for the 250M he got Kroenke to spend but he's working with a healthier group.

Why name him? Silly post
I'm sorry, are you drunk right now?

Because you posted in the Arteta thread that Arsenal are a disgrace not suspending the player accused of rape.. If I'm not allowed to name him then maybe you should wait until it's actually confirmed before saying we're a disgrace.

Not sure about expectations, I don't know what even caf expects from the manager.

I'm just excited to finally see us playing attacking game and a coach who knows how to set up the team to attack and control the game.

Who starts as CB is all for forum arguments, doesn't mean EtH doesn't know which CB will be starting.

That's all he does. Stir sh*t and answer like a toddler. You'd think a United fan would be the last to comment on such issues.
Seeing how the club's social media has started including the player in pictures and Xhaka's recent IG story you'd think a lot of convincing explanations have been given in private.
But it could also go horribly wrong, we don't know and there is no point trying to know.

I posted an article readily available on Sky Sports and another from the Telegraph.

Arsenal are called out on the latter for not acting by MP Jess Phillips.

The only people who have been naming the player are your own fans. I’m more surprised you all seem fine with the clubs stance given how damaging it is and could be.

What message does it send out? That people should be innocent until proven guilty? Such a terrible message that.

And yes Jess Phillips does want him removed from his job, suspending someone puts them out of their job and would hurt both his career and Arsenal's use of an asset.

Why isn't Ronaldo suspended btw? Why are you running from that one, he admitted that she said 'no and stop' during sex. Does rape not count if it's CR7?

No allegations have been made about Ronaldo whilst playing for United. You’re rambling.

As said in any other walk of life you’d be suspended but Arsenal appear desperate not to. Big risk.

The article you posted didn't name Arsenal. If it's true that it's about an Arsenal player then I'm disappointed he hasn't been suspended.

Can't say I'm surprised though, society really doesn't take allegations of sexual assault seriously. Your own posts here are a really good example actually. Arsenal are a disgrace for not suspending our player but you have no issues with Ronaldo playing for United because his allegations are historic.

Good. Be excited, you should be. I'm sure most oppo fans are intrigued at how he will do. And will be the first to fire if it doesn't go well :D
I'm sure Eth knows who will start but whatever his choice is, he will be grilled every week. Why did you drop WC winner Varane ? Your 80M captain ? Why is your 50M signing on the bench today ? Is he too small ?

So your point is rape is okay as long as it happened before you signed the player? You don't have any issue with this after playing morality police:

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/cristiano-ronaldo-rape-case-allegations-b1915710.html

Hypocricy at it's finest.

And again you're wrong. You wouldn't be suspended from your job in most walks of life providing you aren't charged and even if you are you wouldn't be if you're bailed. So even more nonsense from you.

Ronaldo isn’t being investigated for anything currently? Correct me if I’m wrong. If he was I’d want him suspended and not to wear the shirt much like Greenwood.

The irony here is all of you seem really against that and as such are trying to deflect by mentioning Ronaldo. A situation that is completely different. Poor form.

Ronaldo is not currently under investigation for any offences. It is odd you can’t see the difference. Greenwood is and the club acted accordingly. He’s also not been charged as things currently stand but he’s rightly suspended.

After the last season, he has free run at the team. He can pick any team and the player who is benched will be deserved to be on the bench. It's always good to have too many good options, something maybe EtH will enjoy.

You’re not reading what’s written. No one is saying he wouldn’t leave Club A to play more for Club B, that wasn’t what the post you to unbridgeable with was saying.

A poster said he will be a good signing for Arsenal as cover which is nonsense, if he were to join it would surely be with a view to start a lot more than he did for Citeh.

Anyway if you’re all happy with the Arsenal stance on this fair enough. I think it’s disappointing personally and it seems my sentiments are echoed by the media and even Members of Parliament.

If the investigation is still ongoing by the start of the season it will create a whole host of problems for the club.

Even the XXX player hasn't been charged. Anyone can make an allegation, Greenwood's case seems to be an open and shut case with the allegations and proof available on public domain.

It's a bit baffling how in most contexts most mock MPs, yet you're using one to your advantage to prove a point.

I will stick to the fact the club know 100x more than you, or any MP does about the case, and I trust they're doing what is right.

If it turns out he is guilty, then my opinion will change, but we know absolutely nothing yet so i'll hold judgement until we do.

Again, absolutely nothing like Greenwoods case where there was clear proof for the world to see from day 1. There's quite a few rumours about what happened, some bad and some look like more of a set up, so let's wait and see what the truth actually is before judging..

And the fact that every player in the club seems to be getting on with player X, and in fact supporting them, to me shows there's more going on behind the scenes than people think or assume. Whilst you might want to mock Arsenal because you think you know better than the club, I doubt the players themselves are under any obligations to get on with player X, they're doing it out of choice.

He really, really is a nothing player

4th most chances created in the league last season behind TAA, Bruno and KDB. Captain of his international side. Presses the most out of anyone in our team, and is 23rd in the league for it.

But yes, Robbie boy will tell me he's a nothing player.

Absolute nothing player, yes. Decent for Arsenal I suppose. Ole finished 2nd and 3rd in the league, but he's still a fecking fraud - stats can often paint a brightger picture than reality.

It's also worth pointing out that, Bruno had a wank season - under two clowns - and KDB a stop-start one, and both still finished ahead of this fraud.

Ignoring the fact he's above 95% of the other players in the league

He's far from a nothing player, but you keep thinking that.

I don’t know if I can post this so mods feel free to delete. The story my arsenal supporting friend told me was his girlfriend thought he was going to propose and when he didn’t she made the claim out of spite.
