Well i dont think you understand football if you think ronaldo is regarded as one of the greatest. It is your opinion. Most footballing people dont regard Ronaldo as the greatest and thats a fact.

What Messi/Maradona/Pele have is sheer creativity. The make the game beautiful. Im a fan of Ronaldo he is a great striker but how you think is on the same level as messi is beyond me. I honestly think ronaldo fans deep down know he is not on par with Messi.

How you can compare a great goalscorer to a the best player in the world at goalscoring/dribbling/passing/assists/creativity is beyond rationality. You are denying facts.

I do follow barca and if followed real/man utd whoever i would watch every barcelona game to watch the greatest player ever. The only time i went WOW was when R9 got that bicycle kick vs Juve. Every time messi touches the ball its a WOW moment. Thats the difference Messi/Pele/Maradona could do the extraordinary all the time. Ronaldo cant. He is not in the same category.

The Mourinho report from 2006 is crushing new evidence in favour of Messi. Even at the height of Ronaldinho’s powers, it was young Messi who was considered the greatest threat. The report had no answer – ”just foul him”.

Have a friend who's life long Juventus supporter, he's been so excited about Cristiano coming to Juve and considers him as brilliant player but he also sees Messi as better player. One of my best friends is Real supporter since he was like 8y old (we're in 30s now) and eventhough he really hates Barcelona and Messi he also considers Messi as better player. Tbh I'm still to find a real life person who watches football and think Cristiano is better player overall.

I'm not saying I do. It's just when I watch them I come away thinking holy shit he's the greatest. Then I watch the other one and think holy shit he's the greatest. Imo (and this is where some might disagree) football is about moments that you remember. In that respect I can't separate them.

People think Paul Scholes was better than Ryan Giggs. I personally don't because I like the way he played better than I liked how Scholes did. That doesn't make me wrong and it's why I never talk on absolues.

Yeah, football is about preferences and what you like in player. It's testament to Cristiano attitude and mentality that he's in conversation as best ever while going against Messi who's just freak of nature tbh. I like them both as players but for me personally Messi edges it because of his greater involvment in matches, he doesn't need to score or assist to have massive influence on team play while Cristiano is more about others serving him than other way around. It will be sad day seeing them retire.

There are several croatian posters over here, try asking them, maybe it's just my circle of friends although there's none in it who supports Barcelona so that's why I did mention it in first place, cause they don't have any reason to prefer Cristano over Messi and that 1 Juventino that could still finds Messi better.

Fact of the matter is, in early 2006 Ronaldinho was widely considered the best player in the world. He was the reigning Ballon d’Or champion. If you said publicly in early 2006 that Messi or Ronaldo were better, you’d get laughed at.

The fact that the official Chelsea report said Messi was better than Ronaldonho at that point says something.

Can we be 100% sure it wouldn’t have said the same thing about Ronaldo? No, just as we can’t be 100% sure that Messi won’t sign for Everton this summer. But the odds are against it.

It’s intriguing because just analysing them as players you’ve got an elite playmaker and goal scorer against an elite goalscoer?

Public perception is not always correct, that was my entire point. But for AVB and his scouting team to go against public perception and say Messi was better in their offical scouting capacity (and not as a pundit who’s paid to spew controversy) with their professional reputations on the line is pretty stark evidence that Messi is a very, very, very special player.

If Messi truly was better than Dinho in early 2006, which Ronaldinho himself said he was, just imagine who he is better than now.

Hint: his name also starts with Ronald. And it doesn’t end with McDonald.
