So its not suprising...its still Messi
Today Ronaldo was poor imo but still this man has led his team so far till this point. Messi was carried by his teammates
Laughable.
Neither scoring a single goal in the knockouts is quite embarrassing.
Pele still the goat then.
There'll be a horde to soon hound you for that. Argentina are even worse than Portugal apparentlyHow? Portugal are shite, it’s a miracle Ronaldo have 85 goals for them.

2014 world cup:
2-1 Bosnia Messi goal, assist
1-0 Iran Messi
3-2 Nigeria Messi*2, 1 assist
1-0 Switzerland 1 assist
Those are all the goals Argentina scored in the tournament. Every single one was either Messi's or his assist.
Hope to see some consistency here.
"Oooh Messi hasn't scored in World Cup knock outs - definitely not in arguement for GOAT"
Seen that thrown about a couple of times today by the Ronaldo side of the fence. Will they say the same?
Probably notPortugal better than Argentina according to Messi fans... No chance!! Besides Ronaldo singlehandedly getting a draw and the pony Quaresma doing his 1 trick, Portugal were limited to scoring from corners and pumping pointless corners into the box.
India is shite, but still our captain is the third highest goalscorer after Ronaldo. How? Portugal are shite, it’s a miracle Ronaldo have 85 goals for them.
There are not all the goals Argentina scored . Why twist facts ?

Amen to that.I like both Messi and Ronaldo. The worst thing about the pair of them are the insufferable set of fan boys who spend their sad lives arguing about who is better. I'm glad both are out the world cup so maybe now we'll stop fecking hearing about this goat bollocks.
"Not fair comparing Portugal to Argentina, whole different level"
Uruguay 3M population, Portugal 10M population, the irony.
All of Argentina's best players occupy two or three positions(striker and attacking midfielders). No defensive midfielder, no fullbacks, no goalkeeper. It's an utterly unbalanced squad. And they do not have a targetman upfront, which means that they are always trying to pass it in to the goal. They are.
The problem you and the other Ronaldo stans have is that you're looking at it on paper and going "yeah, Aguero > Andre Silva" etc. Argentina are an absolute shambles of a 'team'. There's no system, balance, shape, there's nothing. It's a bunch of individuals who look like they've never kicked a ball before.
FFS they've got Dybala, Aguero and Higuain sitting on the bench while Pavon and Meza get a game
India 1 billion. What does that have to do with anything
Oh, now it doesn't have anything to do? A week ago it was all the hype.

Sorry, I forgot precisely one goal.
Fine, they scored 1 goal without Messi's involvement and 7 with.

Also:
Euro 2016:
1-1 Iceland Nani goal
0-0 vs Austria
3-3 vs Hungary Ronaldo*2
1-0 vs Croatia Quaresma
1-1 vs Poland Sanches
2-0 vs Wales Ronaldo goal, assist
1-0 vs France Eder
So, 9 goals out of which Ronaldo was involved in 4.
Ronaldo set up the Nani goal against Hungary.
Quaresma against Croatia also counts as an assist for Ronaldo because it was his shot that was saved (I think).
Whatever the case on paper, the Argentina team is total dogshit which sometimes rises to the level of mediocrity due to individual moments (Rojo, AdM, Messi in the world cup). Their record without Messi proves their total incoherence.Without Messi, Argentina played eight matches in qualifying. They won one. They scored 0.75 goals per game. They lost to Ecuador, Paraguay and Bolivia. They drew with Venezuela. Tata Martino was sacked and so was his successor, Edgardo Bauza.
With Messi, Argentina played ten matches and only lost one (to Brazil in Belo Horizonte). They beat Chile twice, Uruguay and trounced Colombia 3-0 in San Juan
Mods, please start a Messi-Ronaldo appreciation thread. What we're seeing now is the beginning of the end of one of the most astonishing periods in football history. And it's about time we started celebrating them.
Oh please anyone that seriously argues Portugal and Argentina national teams talent saying they are equal are just biased . Not going to get dragged into a debate to prove Di Maria and Silva are same quality
