These guys are so obsessed it’s getting a bit creepy at this point. Comparing Messi’s choked sitter 2 feet from the goal when his team needed it to Ronaldo :lol:

Like I said, winners focus on winning & losers focus on winners. It’s been the story of this thread for quite some time/years now.

Because we have one stupid mod who is probably a Messi fan. :wenger:

Riiighhhttt. The reason you're the laughing stock of the forum is because a mod is "stupid" and so is everyone else for calling you the same thing.

Ronaldo’s bottom level - he’ll score.

Messi’s bottom level - he’ll choke.

I don't think you understand the first thing about football so I'm not sure I should even waste my time replying but your idol didn't score last night or the previous game. If that's his bottom level, then he plays crap and doesn't score. Messi's bottom level is to play well, link up play for his team, regardless of whether he scores.

I'll expect a reply because you seem obsessed with me.

"Everyone else" being you Messi brigade?

Everyone else being the entire forum.

Say, how was it watching Ronaldo advance to a 3rd straight CL final while breaking numerous CL records in the process? Just wondering.

Everybody used to hold the Champions League in highest regards until Ronaldo made it his playing ground & we started hearing how CL is some easy competition and not an incredible feat.

Crazy how narratives change in real time hahaha

Indeed, funny how the CL was the pinnacle of football when Messi and Barca used to win them quite regularly.

Suddenly, La Liga is where it's at.

Some things never change

Goes to show how Ronaldo single handily carries Madrid year in year out and it’s the same in 2018. Has scored 50% of the teams goals. No other club relies solely on 1 player as Madrid does and it’s not even close.

How do you say that Cristiano "single-handedly carried Madrid" in the 2013-14 CL when:
  • Real Madrid won the RO16 (Schalke) by an aggregate score of 9-2, Ronaldo scored 4 out of 9 (to make it 3-0, 6-0, 7-1, 8-2 on aggregate)
  • Real Madrid won the QF (Dortmund) by an aggregate score of 3-2, Ronaldo scored 1 out of 3 (to make it 3-0 on aggregate)
  • Real Madrid won the SF (Bayern) by an aggregate score of 5-0, Ronaldo scored 2 out of 5 (to make it 4-0 and 5-0 on aggregate)
  • Real Madrid won the Final (Atlético) by a score of 4-1, Ronaldo scored 1 out of 4 (to make it 4-1)
6 different Real Madrid players made it to the UEFA Team of the Tournament too.

The common opinion at the time was how Real Madrid had a fantastic team with Ancelotti. Your post is a pretty good reason why people shouldn't make over-reaching judgements based off stat tweets. :wenger:

@Arbitrium @Cal? I know this is way OT but can you guys please explain how you win a game of football by only scoring goals? Hopefully you can do that without any references to dribbling as well.. ;)

You might want to revise what I initially said. I told cal to go easy on you because I knew what his opinion would be. Literally, the only way you can ever win a game of football, is by scoring goals.

@Sarmz Woah, 1 season years ago where he didn’t have to score as many crucial timed goals. What a shame he still scored since it’s so easy to do and players do it for fun all the time! Not like he set a record or anything for most goals scored in a single CL campaign or anything...how dare he? The audacity of him my gosh. :nono::mad:

PS - hope you realize how far you’re reaching here and how ridiculous you sound :wenger::lol:

Fair enough.

Literally, the only way you can ever win a game of football, is by scoring goals.

Right, but that's not what I asked. I asked how you win by only scoring goals.

You can score 10 goals in a game and still lose, so you obviously need to do a lot more than only score goals to win. I'm guessing that this is all a misinterpretation of what I said in my original post, as the question of how you win a game of football is just too simple to get wrong.

If you score enough, you’d win. Eg Pool v Roma

Yes, Pool v Roma is a great example, and so is literally every single other game of football where one team won and the other lost.

Look, the extremely simple point I was trying to make is that you also need to make sure the other team doesn’t score. Therefore the point of football isn't just to score goals.

The point of football is to outscore the opposition.

Can't understand how all you people rate this pointless dribbling, passing and defending stuff. It's goalscoring that wins you games and trophies. Imagine a team with ten Ronaldo's. One already scores 50 goals a season, ten would logically score 500. Maybe we can even sacrifice the goal keeper and play another Ronaldo there, this would make 550 goals. Incredible.

11 Ronaldo better than 11 Messi

What more proof do you need? ;)

Correct, and what I've said 4 times now is that you don't do that by only scoring goals. Do you agree with that?
Unless you think Messi is there to stop the opposition scoring goals, I'm not sure how that's relevant to this thread.

Oh the irony.. You were the one who brought up “the point of football” in your argument about why dribbling isn’t an important skill. You were also wrong about that and that’s why I’m still talking about it.

It’s nice to see though that you’re too proud to admit that I’m right so you pull the 'off topic' card instead.

But they don't do well in La Liga ;)

Yea, don’t quite get what he’s going on about. Rather common sense stuff.

“But but you have to prevent goals as well”, yea no shit sherlock but end of the day the point is to score more goals than the other team and what it comes down to when it’s all said and done. You can’t outscore someone 0-0 you know

I replied "correct" to the post you're qouting. And it was obviously not the statement I originally disagreed with. Also, "the point is to score more goals than the other team" implies that you need to do more than just score goals.

Can't you at least put some effort into your wumming, otherwise the only result is that you're embarrassing yourself and it's just not as much fun that way. Still hilarious mind, but I want the full muppet experience.
