Mouriniho has to start to get rid of some players..is good news to hear Depay to everton and bastian to mls..
from what i see he needs two or three seasons to get it right..

for next season he would need atleast 4 in my view

a striker
an attacking midfielder.
a right back ( since he doesnot belive in damian)
a defensive midfilder ( none of current ones are effective so far )

other positions we dont desperately need..

left back..central midfield..central defense..wing players

Disagree. We sorely lack pace out wide. I'd prioritise a winger over a right back, as Valencia is solid there, and Darmian is reasonable back up.

I will say this; that performance against Midget land was orgasmic. He tore them apart. Considering his age and the state our team has been in lately, I don’t see a problem in giving him a chance on loan. Koeman might just be the on to fix the young man.

First, and foremost, it might be worth reading my two previous posts for contextual purposes. https://www.redcafe.net/threads/memphis-depay-2015-16-performances.406638/page-189#post-19282466 and https://www.redcafe.net/threads/memphis-depay-2015-16-performances.406638/page-189#post-19282881

Given Memphis' skill set, I'd personally be delighted if we loaned him to Nice. In the links, I posted, spoke about the importance of playing an attacking left full back in the posts when Memphis is deployed in the starting berth, and Nice have R.Pereira capable of playing on either side, and the quick Brazilian fullback Dalbert is capable of using his althetlicism to bomb forward to attack space, and beat his man with a sudden burst of acceleration.

Moreover, Nice have used four different formations this season, all of which include (see where Belhanda is situated.) This is exemplified by:

Additionally, Nice is the club where Ben Arfa made his resurgence. His loan spell at Hull was deeply underwhelming, and it wasn't long before he was granted the opportunity to play for Nice. At Nice, he scored some goals which were ultimately derived from individual brilliance, his exuberance was back, he was influential against PSG, and he was in a system which played to his strengths. Similarly, Balotelli played poorly for Liverpool, and subsequently on his return to Ac Milan, scoring 1 goal for each, despite accumulating 16 and 20 appearances respectively. Yet now for Nice, it seems the players have really taken to him, he looks like he's willing to play for them, not just his self. He's scoring goals again, and some of the things he's said recently, suggests he's maturing. Perhaps the duo could form a potent duo.

Wouldn't believe that blob on anything but it may as well be permanent if he's making a move. Not good enough for us. Hopefully we'll recuperate a decent fee before he stinks Goodison Park out.

Everton would be a bad choice for Memphis. With his qualities he is more suited for f.e. the Italian league.

Can't see him going on a loan if he's not even able to make the bench for this game against west-ham. He's probably being sold

How much can we fetch for him? Surely 20 minimum?

Everton have new owners who weren't afraid to pay 30m on Bolasie.

He's not been at a Manchester United level once since he's joined the club, unfortunately. Maybe there's a player in there somewhere.

He needs to go somewhere permanently and play football again and see if he can improve. I'd sell him ASAP - but I'd include a buyback clause if it was to Everton or anyone else in the Premier League.

He needs regular football to get back his confidence if he is going to achieve anywhere near his real potential. shame it's not worked out for him here, if whoever he goes to gets him firing on all cylinders they'll have a great player on their hands.

I bet it's somewhere between 10 - 15 million max. We aren't very good at the whole selling players thing unfortunately.

I can only think Everton have offered us good coin. Loaning him to get into form before selling would have been the play otherwise.

You'd really hope so. Maybe it's a sale to get him off the books quickly? Duncan Castles kept (and keeps) banging on about how Mourinho wanted a few more defenders to sign but the club couldn't get players off the wages quick enough.

Our wage bill is a problem of course. Another reason why Bastian was isolated I think. Not that he's terrible but that his play couldn't reflect anywhere near his wages.

Everton have a few quid to spend this January and wouldn't be surprised if they bought Depay & Schneiderlin. Money is there and they'll probably move the likes of McCarthy on to make way for Schneiderlin, they've found scoring goals a problem like ourselves and are certainly short on players who can score goals so can certainly see Depay moving to Everton.

Bolasie suffered ACL injury yesterday. Sad for the dude, i quite like him as a footballer, hope he recovers well.

Depay is Everton bound now 100% IMO.

I hope it's a loan and I hope he absolutely smashes it. He's not been given a sniff this season and it's simply not fair on him.

He will go, and score a reasonable amount and do pretty well I would say.

Good luck to him, just hasn't worked out here.

Me too. I don't know what it is that I find quite likeable about him, but I really do want him to succeed. I'd love for him to go there and tear it up, and return here afresh. Nobody else is really stepping up and making either flank their own here, so it seems odd that Memphis isn't at least been given a chance.

The Dutch Wilfried Zaha. Plenty of talent and raw athletic ability, but no footballing brain.

He'll be at the right level at Everton.

So you expect Everton to trust Depay to score goals in a league where we don't trust him to score goals?
A loan is realistic, I doubt they'll buy him though, unless we dump him off but that I wouldn't want since I'm interested in seeing what he could do for Everton before completely giving up on him.

He won't do anything at Everton. Another coin flip from the Eredivisie that has landed on the Afonso Alves/Kezman side rather than Ruud/Suarez.

That unplayable game he had against Midgetland is the slither of hope I have for him. Loan deal would be good but wouldn't be heart broken to sell him.
People forget he played very well v Arsenal last season at Old Trafford. Kept Bellerin on the back foot which was key to beating them.

A new winger is coming in January?

I think that's indicative of the problem. He's been here a year and a half and we can still pinpoint the few really good performances we've gotten from him. Fwiw, I think he moved to us at the wrong time. He wasn't ready. His game wasn't close to being developed enough. You could see it within a month or two of arriving. He looked shocked that defenders in the PL wouldn't let him cut back on his right and, when they did, he'd be smothered before getting a shot off. A year or two at a slightly smaller club, where they could allow him to make mistakes without the pressure that came from being LVG's wild card would have been better for him.

I agree.

But I also feel it's an issue with us and wingers since Ronaldo. We've had some talented players in those positions but none have thrived.

Nani is a good example. The one season where he had full backing he delivered big time and in big games too.

The only wingers we've trusted have been Valencia and Young to an extent. Uninspiring players who value tracking back and working hard over the so called flair players.

I get that players have to work hard, but I also feel players who have the potential to do serious damage have to given that trust and backing.

Well let's hope we can get a better fee now. Wishing Bolasie all the best in his recovery ofc.
