Confused as to what your point is here and how United's inconsistency on the pitch has any relation to my personal life. Odd.
It'll have an impact because we have limited funds so spending £45m on him when we also need to sign at least 1 more forward who will cost around £60m as well as a right wing back and almost certainly a new CB with Martinez injury would indicate to me that he's not going to be a rotation option.
Swiss Ramble did a breakdown of our finances and they estimated we'd have around 120m for this year. 30m is gone on Dorgu and 45m for Tel leaves you with enough for 1 other player unless we make significant sales.

Understand. But we currently sell to buy anyway. Sell Zirkzee and Hoijlund. This will find your striker. It should really matter as long as we continue to do 1 in 1 out. I don’t see the point in extending on the squad, it’s needs restructuring, it can’t all be done at once but you have two strikers who the manager clearly doesn’t like. Sell them both and sign Tel and another.

I'm obviously not serious and making the point that even an inexperienced kid could grab at least one goal. It's a point about underperformance and how almost anyone with any degree of ability might be able to match Zirkzee and Hojlund's standards.
Well if we have £50m to pay for Tel, we can surely find £10-15m extra and get Osimhen. Who's getting goals in Turkiye without trying 100%, I've watched plenty Galatasaray matches this season.
He's a very complete striker, did it in Serie A as well and not bad in Europe either (both CL and EL).

The biggest possible mistake we could make right now is to waste money on a stop gap signing. If we think we can get Gyokores and Cunha in the summer then i'd rather just wait until the summer.
Too much short term thinking has damaged this club time and time again.
There's virtually no player that we could sign right now that would be able to get us in the top five, and the Europa League is so weak I still think we are strong favourites with our current squad.
Quite frankly I often considered the option myself especially at the time when there were rumors that Juve were ready to spend some decent money for Zirkzee. I did so because
a- our forwards are cack. I've never seen a United with such a weak forward line
b- there's financial issues at the club
c- Chido Obi Martin might be 17 but he's built like a tank. He won't get intimidated by the typical EPL CB
d- There had been 17 year old strikers before who did well in the EPL or elsewhere
What stopped me from considering him as a real option is the consequences of him either picking injuries or starting to believe his own hype. It would be very unfair if we end up ruining his career and we certainly don't need a new Rashford saga in our hands.

When you look at the last 5 to 7 years, United's problem hasn't really been buying from Bayern or the Bundesliga. It has been "buying" in general.
Sure. I mean, the epiphyseal plate closure doesn't happen until around 21 in males, so, up until then his long bones are stil lengthening, which despite his massive frame, is still going to make him somewhat vulnerable.
This is the unfortunate trade off for when a player is so good at a young age. Someone like Yamal being almost the world's best player and in reality, it's physiologically not expedient for him to be playing this much whilst his bones are lengthening.

I don't think a loan with an option was ever going to be possible with Bayern. Pure loan, maybe. Loan with obligation, definitely. But an option? Yeah no, Bayern ain't that stupid, that's only risks and no upsides for them.

They'd take a loan or loan buy guarantee. We only want loan with buy option. At best a compromise would be loan with forced buy if certain targets are met (goals/appearances).
From our perspective we just hold pat. At this point why overpay for a player or develop a player for Bayern without us getting anything. It's not like we'll win the league or anything. Europa we seem to be okay it's depth in EPL that's lacking and we can just play kids if we need to.

Thought so. So it was absolutely not the same to what Frankfurt was offering.
Frankfurt is also a very well functioning team that is known for getting the best out of its strikers. It is a shame that Tel turned that opportunity down.

That's not less, that's better from Bayern's point of view. An option to buy is only advantageous for the club that's taking the player in.
And like Acrobat7, I'd say Frankfurt would have been the better club for a loan regardless. Shame Tel didn't want to, I could have seen that do him a lot of good.

Depends on what we are aiming to play, 60m is a lot of money and frankly could result in a mistake id rather us lose out on all trophies than 60m
De Ligt was a decent price. Certainly can't complain about the fee, but I wouldn't call it a bargain.

The very tweet you just posted contradicts that narrative, according to it they'd have also been cool with a pure loan (at least in Frankfurt's case). They've also been trying to get Tel to go out on loan in the last summer window.
As has already been said multiple times in the thread, they either want a fixed deal (direct sale or obligation to buy) or a pure loan, and that totally makes sense from their perspective. I cannot see United changing their mind about that. They also have no pressure to act, Tel's on contract for a long time and his wages aren't enormous.
