Mason Mount's Many Misfortunes (please don't make another waste of money post)

Who could've guessed!

Really unfortunate. On a human level you've to feel for the guy. He had started to look half decent, but it was predictable that he'd soon get injured again.

Turning out to be an awful signing for us. We seem to have filled the Phil Jones sized hole in the squad with some precision.

Can we pay off and release him from the club? That way we’ll atleast save a few bucks spent on rehabilitation from his constant injuries. No other club in the world would be insane enough to take him at even a few million pounds.

Guy looked genuinely distraught going off. I really want him to stay fit as I think he’d be perfect in this 3-4-3 system.

His injuries were never this bad at Chelsea. Does feel like we’re a bit cursed.

He’s had a horrendous time with injuries since joining the club. You have to feel for the guy, every time he returns and starts to get a bit of rhythm going another injury strikes and the whole cycle repeats itself again.

Hope its not a long one, he's been horribly unlucky. If its any consolation Gundogan went through a similar period where he just couldn't get on the pitch, then came back and was phenomenal for 4 years. Hope the same for the lad.

Has to be our worst transfer right?

Seems like a sound lad, but feck me
for me, that title will be held by sancho. I really feel for Mount though, I think he's a good honest player but he's not going anywhere with these injuries and it's a really negative cycle. I don't know who would buy him so he's going to be in the situation of someone 'taking a risk' on him or a loan which is potentially disruptive to recovery as well. It's sad to see someone's promising career slip away. I know money won't be any issue for him but he's sure to be hurting about lost opportunities.

I was mad and thought "here we go again". Then seeing how devastated he looked, and I just felt so sad for him.

Our situation is not comparable to City. We need to rebuild, we don't have room for passengers. We can't have a player who we spent 60M on and is on big wages not playing in the 1st team. We aren't good enough to have passengers.

And when Mount is healthy he isn't great. The best thing that anyone says about Mount is that he presses and runs. We can promote a youth player for that.

We have to be ruthless and get rid of players who can't stay on the pitch. Shaw and Mount just have to go.

Doesn't seem viable as a top level athlete any more. In fairness most of us never were. Just one of those things.

Gutted for him tbh, he was devastated. I really hope he can somehow get fit and play a part as Amorim really rates him.

He looked absolutely gutted and you can see he desperately wants to be involved, seems a popular character with the rest of the squad too.

It sucks for him, but if he keeps getting injured, we have to cut our losses at some point.

He's gone.

Everyone who wanted to sign him in the first place who had any sort of influence is no longer at the club, so he's gone.

He was ever present in our team for years. And I think that’s part of the reason he’s in this situation now. He played a ridiculous number of matches for club and country and with his playing style when he was here it’s very taxing physically. He ran himself into the ground.

Need a better doctor maybe? it's not good for his body that it keeps happening not long after returning.

There must be some kind of specialist out there who can identify why he keeps breaking down and formulate some kind of treatment? I recallGiggs having specialist treatment and a unique training regimen for his hamstrings in latter years.

Felt horrible for him today, had a terrible time since joining and really wish he can overcome these niggling injuries eventually, still think there is a player in there.

On the other hand Amorim seems to love him, so I wouldn't be so sure. And who is buying him?
Ruben can love him all he wants but the club is paying him to kick a ball and he seems incapable of being fit enough to do so.
He's been really unfortunate since he's joined us but a miracle would have to occur for him to be able to play at the intensity that Ruben requires of him.

Really felt bad for him. You could tell the other players all felt for him too. We have to sign a lot of players in teh summer.

Saw a tweet that he's played 90 minutes for us once. Feels more like he's played less than 90 minutes total since signing.
