What he adds to our team, is outweighed by his weaknesses. Very technically limited and slow, and in the first half I remember he had a great opportunity to play Rashford through but you just knew he wasn't going to be able to produce such a pass. You can sit behind such statements as the bolded for any United player, by the sheer fact that they are actually playing for Utd.
You see what you want to see though. The hate he's getting here is beyond pathetic. So much disgraceful stuff.

I was more annoyed with him before the red card anyway. There were so many half-breaks we had, when he had to either hold on to the ball through one challenge, or pass quickly to Martial or Rashford, and he failed to do that almost every time. Mostly 1st half. Pogba hasn't been setting the world alight but his technique is good enough that he would have done those things properly. Martial in the 1st half, with a little more service, could probably have opened them up - other than Kompany they were terrified of him.

The red was meh, not a direct red but should have been a second yellow, so same outcome.

No he was nothing like the worst player on the pitch prior to the red. Unless you have an agenda against him. Sadly it seems a lot of united fans seem to. Listen he's there to win the ball back and play it to a more talented player. The problem is our attacking players gifted the ball right back every time.

Seriously ? He was doing nothing , couldn't get a single pass forward and he was losing the ball so easily on pressure. Even his tacles were a joke. He was a passenger in the midfield most of the game.

Well Pogba had better be willing to play through the pain barrier like Jose demands, because he, Carrick and Herrera are literally our only midfielders.

Utter moron. Just don't do anything and let the little hobbit be the one to catch the flak for trying to instigate something. Now we are without another midfielder for our crowded run in. Shame because he has played well and was doing a job for us today with very little fuss.

It's exceptionally soft to get a 3 match ban for, when you think leg breakers get the same

But It was more contact than a lot you've seen before for certain. He did connect, however lightly

Yes the connection of the heads certainly looked worse than the usual square up and pushing head together nonsense but still a long way off being a headbutt.

Just another bipolar display. In a longer run you can't trust him that much and having that kind of player in the squad will never guarantee stability.

He will always play few decent matches and then do something truly dumb and cause trouble in result.

Played alright well he worked hard all game, idiot 3 times in a minute getting him self sent off to undo all that.

But he's done that pushing his head into players about 10 times this season, he's had that red coming. Aguero obviously went down easy but brainless from Fellaini.

That goes both ways. I don't condone vitriol being thrown at him, but he was really stupid tonight and deserves criticism.

Sky just showed it many times. It's certainly a headbutt.

It doesn't have to be a Zidane full force job to count as one!

I don't know how anyone can defend that. Sure, Aguero made a meal of it, but if Fellaini doesn't stick his head in there, nothing happens. That's just moments after he received a yellow and clumsily made another foul straight away as well. How difficult is it to show even a tiny bit of restraint immediately after getting a card? Or to, you know, not stick your head in against a player you just fouled?

Was quite decent but ended up being too stupid to bear . We're getting thinner & thinner physically.

Fellaini had a good game but was stupid at the end but which one of us wouldn't have, gone the opportunity!?

I'd like to think I'd take the yellow for a clever foul to stop a counter, get back in position and concentrate on the job at hand. It's football, not MMA. He's not there to twat Aguero or anything.

At that point, City were pushing men up, and we could've had chances to counter. That red card gave the initiative to them. Thank god for that lino. That was some spot on the offside.

Fellaini puts his head down, Aguero butts Fellaini and Fellaini holds his head in. You see it with a double movement.

Definitely didn't head butt Aguero.

Should've just thrown himself to the ground at the same time that Aguero did.

The fact people think he was playing well is more annoying than the red card.

The amount of times Rashford ran in behind and Fellaini was literally too scared to play the pass.

A Man Utd player who is too scared to pass the ball, and he gets praised for it...and then the same people moan that we're in 5th place.

It was just fecking stupid and inexcusable. He starts looking like a decent option for us and then goes and does something fecking idiotic like that. Get rid at the end of the end of the season.

No he wasn't. He's a technically deficient, clumsy lump who has the composure of Happy Gilmore. He's a complete liability.

Putting his foul aside, he wasn't at all technically deficient, clumsy lump and lacking composure. He was doing just fine up until the first yellow and the 10 seconds that followed.

I think Jose will be most disappointed, especially after publicly sticking his neck out for Fellaini. I don't think he's going to last the summer, wel replace him and bring new legs for Carrick.

Don't be silly, we haven't done shit the whole match and it wouldn't have changed till the very end.

Blaming Fellaini for being utterly thick is fine for me, trying to push down this narrative that he's cost us anything today is downright silly. Had we lost, he would.

Well, keep hating then. It's very poor from you lot.
Are you the sort of person that just accepts mediocrity and happy to drudge along? Let's aim high shall we, we're Manchester fecking United - not like we're writing players off after 2 games, he's been here for nearly 4 years!!

I'm still not sure where the idea he was playing that well tonight has come from, unless expectations are being lowered massively. He was alright and decent defensively, putting in a few good tackles, but in an attacking sense he did fairly little, and didn't display overly great movement, or provide a consistent attacking danger. It was somewhere around a standard 6/10 performance at best before the headbutt. He wasn't notably worse than a number of other players out there on the field, but he didn't offer much either.

Martial and Mkhitaryan have been utter dogshit tonight, proving why Mou froze them both off.
Wait wasn't the narrative that Mourinho changed them, especially Mkhitaryan, into real super champions who could now finally deal with the technical details of the premier league that kept overwhelmig them before Mou's touch of enlightment?

Oh wait, that's only when they've played well.

Mourinho, what a horrendous manager who has now shown he doesn't know where to out his faih in after the hilarious defending and talking up of his darling Fellaini. How many times.

Best thing about the game is that we won't be seeing his stupid face for at least three games. Hope he'll never pull on a United shirt again.

He's just nowhere near skilled nor intelligent enough to play for us.

Before he got sent off he was fecking awful, it's no good having a player that is so techncially and athletically crap, he was the one closest to the 3 forwards and couldn't run the ball out or find a pass for love nor money, he's never been good enough to be here and I don't care about his little clique on here that think he offers something, he doesn't offer nearly enough for what he detracts.

As for the red, it was a red, yes Aguero is a diving cnut but you can't do what Fellaini did and he made an already hard task even harder with his lack of discipline.
