Both players went for the headbutt and Aguero flopped. I would have given both players a yellow card. In the end Fellaini was going to be off either way, but not very smart thing to do after getting a yellow cards seconds earlier.

Ageruo fecked him over. I'm backing Fellaini's case this time.

In what sense did Aguero feck him over? He squared up to Fellaini, who then headbutted him. Aguero exaggerated the incident, but quite frankly it's still Fellaini's fault for being goaded into it so easily.

He's been decent off late but I won't miss him while he's out. Atkinson maybe did us a favor giving him the direct red (as long as Pogba is back soon)

Rush? He should have been gone at least two season ago
That's not the way I see it, and I'm not trying defend his actions tonight (absolute stupidity in the end). I just want to wait to the end of the season. That's all.

Deserved red card. He's been doing it for years. I'd have done the same if I were Aguero.

He was decent before the red, to be fair. Then again, I think the game plan suits Fellaini's talents and limitations.

You'd have fallen to the ground as if you'd been shot?

Anyone but Fellaini doing that and our fans would be jumping to their defence. Seriously we see players squaring up head to head week after week without a red.

Fellaini did the same fecking thing towards the end of last season! Where is his head. He could have cost us dearly this game. Now he'll miss both Arsenal and Spurs games.

He's been decent in quite a few games for us this year, but he's prone to do shite like that on a fairly frequent basis. I'd really like to see us move him on in the summer and get somebody else in.

There must be some other tall midfielders out there that Jose can pick up to win us the odd header every now and then.

Forgetting about how annoying the red card is, we really need to upgrade on him. So bad and makes our midfield so unbalanced when he plays.

Is it just me that thought that was really soft?

Nope not just you. It wasn't a "headbutt". Fellaini was putting his head down to Agueros and as they were both moving toward each other it made it look a lot worse than it was.

One step forward, two steps back, that's the Fellaini way.

Yep, had a tidy decent game, and gives security in the air which we desperately needed tonight.

But that mental minute. My word. Absolute red mist mentalism.

I have defended Fellaini through the thick & thin but what he did tonight was unforgivable. He could have cost us 3 points with that moment of madness.

Ok, the first foul was nothing - he took one for the team. However, to chase after the same player he fouled like that and bring him down again is irresponsible.

To add insult to injury, he now nodded a diminutive Aguero to prove what exactly? I think he has to go. He's a liability at this stage. He will miss 4 games now considering his temper tantrums after the card was shown.

Marouane, you are a disgrace to the good people of Belgium.

He made contact though so that's a yellow at the very least. A direct red was a bit OTT probably.

He was the worst player on the pitch before the red. The sent-off just make it plenty obvious how horrible he's.

Hope we never see his hair again. Whatever good matches he can make he suddenly bring these shite games from time to time and it costs us a lot. He has no brain in his head.

Nope, far from it.

He fell for it. It was just stupid from him to think Aguero wouldnt go down. No surprise it was Fellaini who was the guy getting dicked again.

Immediately after a booking?

So many instances where he had a clear path to send an easy through ball to Martial and Rashford running behind the defence, yet every single time he either stops and turns around or losses the ball.

Tho gotta thank him for making 2nd half a bit interesting.

Lost his head and forced the ref to make the call.

Prior to that, I thought he played his role well enough, given that hardly anyone around him had any composure on the ball either. He essentially was asked to play in Pogba's position and clearly lacks the skillset to replace him.

Aguero played him there, the red was fair as you can't throw your head in like that but the reality is Aguero could have stood up and fronted him out.

Fellaini out for 3 games? Atkinson didn't feel it was harsh to give him a red and Aguero nothing?

Nope not just you. It wasn't a "headbutt". Fellaini was putting his head down to Agueros and as they were both moving toward each other it made it look a lot worse than it was.

It's exceptionally soft to get a 3 match ban for, when you think leg breakers get the same

But It was more contact than a lot you've seen before for certain. He did connect, however lightly

How he is still at the club baffles me IMO.
Slow and clumsy sums him up to me.

Brainless. He's just had the backing of his manager and fought his way into the team with some solid performances despite being booed by his own fans earlier in the season, and he goes and ruins it all by throwing a headbutt. He's a shambles of a player and I won't be sorry to see him finally booted out.

Just sums Fellaini up in a nutshell that.

He deserves to be sold off the back of that, it was pure mutiny.

Nearly threw away any chance we had, thank god the others can hold their bottle. Absolute prat.

:lol::lol:

His problem is he is one of the stupidest players you'll see. He has a skillset that if you put alongside a decent amount of intelligence and you have a really useful player.

Unfortunately how can you rely on a player that let's players ghost past him because he has a lapse of concentration, sticks a leg out and gives away a penalty or loses his head and puts extra pressure on his teammates.

The answer is you can't. He needs replacing with someone who can do a similar thing but with reliability. Hell I'd give Fosu-Mensah a chance.

No he was nothing like the worst player on the pitch prior to the red. Unless you have an agenda against him. Sadly it seems a lot of united fans seem to. Listen he's there to win the ball back and play it to a more talented player. The problem is our attacking players gifted the ball right back every time.

Looks like a straight red and not a second yellow to me. So the idiot misses our next three game. Wish they had longer bans.

I defended Fellaini a lot, but I blame him for that red card. You just can't do that and expect to get away with it. He now left us with even fewer options in the midfield.

I'm sorry to say, but Fellaini is a United player and did fine here. I'm sure you all love to hate him and can't see the stuff he brings to the team.

What he adds to our team, is outweighed by his weaknesses. Very technically limited and slow, and in the first half I remember he had a great opportunity to play Rashford through but you just knew he wasn't going to be able to produce such a pass. You can sit behind such statements as the bolded for any United player, by the sheer fact that they are actually playing for Utd.

Fellaini was one of our better players IMO. Idiotic for getting suckered in by Aguero but other than that he did well defensively and had an ok game. No one played well today.

Ageruo fecked him over. I'm backing Fellaini's case this time.
Of course he did. Anyone would, when they're up against someone like Fellaini. I can't see how anyone could back him for reacting like that just seconds after the first booking. He should have stayed clear of any City players and let his teammates defend him.
