Marcus Rashford (Out) | Rashford: “For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

If Amorim brings Rashford back into the team straight away ,he has severely weakened his position at United.
Hopefully he has the backbone to follow up now by moving Rashford out of the club as soon as possible, he has been stinking the place up for years.
Taking that trip to New York during the international break just goes to show that it’s all about him, doesn’t give a fig what anyone thinks , two fingers to the new manager.

I sincerely hope Amorim doesn't bring Rashford back into the fold.

Being named in the starting line-up now would be a joke and shows Rashford will get away with it again.

He would only do so after significantly improved effort and application in training.

Rashford is already into the fold. He is training with the rest of the first team and if he does well then he'll play. That's the only way else his price will turn mush.

That doesn't mean that everything is forgiven and forgotten. The club will actively seek suitors at this point and it would be in Rashford's interest to do his part.

Here's a thing I've noticed though, we're all rightly happy about the potential return of a merit based team hierarchy........... but mention the possibility of Rashford and Garnacho rising to the challenge and turning it around and its a problem for some? ......huh?

His ridiculous wages means nobody is going to touch this guy with a barge pole till his contract is done so the best we can hope for is for him to wake the feck up and give a damn about football again or face permanent relegation to the bench.

I think the problem is more along the lines of Rashford getting a million second chances. We've seen multiple times how this ends. At some point, patience runs out and we're better off cutting our losses.

This will finally show him that no other big clubs are coming to get him and he either knuckles down or is marginalised. It’ll be Saudi this and that for the next few windows, that’s the level his current form and demeanour have him at. I think he’ll cop on and start working a bit more but I still don’t think it'll be enough.I like the way Amorim is handling this behind closed doors and not calling anyone out. It’s up to the players to respond. I’d rather Mount in Rashfords place anyway as things stand but he seemingly can’t stay fit.

Sky had an article for what are his options - came down to two, either knuckle down and find a way back here or hope some Saudi club comes for him. Just don't see a Saudi club coming, so do hope this last weekend was his final wake up call, otherwise see him missing a lot of match day squads soon.

I reckon teams like Villa and Newcastle will be all over him if he becomes available. I’ve heard the usual rumours via friends of friends who know him, that he’s going in January and there are 6 clubs after him. Obviously a bullshit source, but no worse than half the shit that gets regurgitated on here from “itk’s”.

I'll let Ruben call that shot

Because you cant see past your agenda?

Why even take the slightest risk that we might end up strengthening a team we hope to be a direct rival in the near future? I'd much rather he went to another league....
You trust the people we have looking at Rashford and their judgement that he isn't good enough to operate at the level we require sell him to arsenal (or the highest bidder, regardless if they are rivals) if they were interested. If it doesn't work out and he comes good, so be it.

Chelsea have made a fortune over the years from recognising when they've got the best years out of a player and knowing when to move them in confidence that they've had their best years out of them. Cech, David luiz, Mata, matic, mount all spring to mind, where any of them a real success at the clubs they ended up?

If any of our rivals were willing to pay good money and we deem Rashford untenable at the club we should be snapping the hands off the club willing to pay the most, direct rival or not.

I think this sums up the situation.

Or maybe a loan with a view to buy, like Sancho.

Don't think anyone is buying him. He's supposedly on £325k a week, and likely won't take a wage cut. You want someone to give him a raise AND pay us a transfer fee?

We owe Marcus another £60M in wages over the next 3.5 seasons. He's only worth maybe half that. Likely the only way this gets done is if we "sell" him for £30M for optics but then give him the £30M as a parting bonus to accept lower wages. New club pays him £150k a week, but Marcus gets his £60M total he's slated for the next 3.5 years.

It'd save us £30M total in wages, but it's not some massive PSR boon. I think it's very unlikely we get off all of the wages, let alone get a transfer fee on top of it.

Really depends on how a potential buying club views him and his future contribution. The pool is not big, but given how much money has been thrown around in club football nowadays, nothing is impossible.

People always worry about his wages and being difficult to sell, but conveniently forget we have moved on players such as Sancho, Greenwood and Sanchez.

I can actually see that Saudi clubs would be interested about him. He's easily good enough to be a star player in there. It's a different story would Marcus be interested about playing in Saudi league at the age 27. But that would be the best choice for us. I would like to see him going abroad and we could get a decent transfer fee.

greenwood wasn’t on massive wages. We heavily subsidised the wages of the other two. There’s no other way for 99% of the players we sell to go but down to lower paying clubs. That’s why we really need to be careful about who we throw the crazy money at.

“For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

Wow okay... not sure how it ends any other way now considering this

He awoke this morning to headlines detailing United’s desire to sell him. I ask Rashford if he’s staying or going? “For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.” All of his words were prefaced with respect for the club which has been his home for almost 20 years. “When I leave it's going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.

He's gone surely . probably in January.

Well that's very...unexpected. Seems likes he will definitely be going in January and Amorim has planned for this.

The way he’s talking is something has already been lined up with quotes like that

bye bye Marcus. Hope you find a nice easy time of it in PSG where they won't expect you to work for the team.

Time to create a new thread on his replacement and hopefully that is also lined up!

If only he actually did what he has said numerous times as in this article " Or do my best the next time I’m available" but you never do Marcus, you walk around the pitch like you'd sooner be anywhere else!
