Marcus Rashford (Out) | Rashford: “For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

Do you think its not obvious what you are doing here? If you want specifics find them in these threads yourself it wont take you long... or maybe you are just here to argue that everything is all Rashfords fault hence your selective blindness?

You’re the one making the claims, not me. You obviously find it easier to throw out accusations rather than backing them up and referring to anything specific even though you are asked about it.

I can try once more, what specific leaks have originated from the club?

It's funny, I just saw your comment about people on here possibly being Rashford's paid PR people. So, you're so extremely aware of unofficial communications that you suspect agents might be posting undercover on Redcafe to get their message across, but at the same time you claim to refuse to believe anything comes from the club unless it has been notarised.

That's actually hilarious.

As hilarious as you trying to spin a narrative that a player who has repeatedly failed standards and comes out in an important week to say he wants to leave rather than step up isn't the one at wrong and the one initiating the issues.

Some of you have been endlessly defending his shit behaviour and now the club are backing a manager to drop him because of it you're throwing hysterical tantrums at it.

The fans call out his behaviour and he cries abuse to the media, the manager calls him out and he runs to the press to complain he wants to leave. Several managers have had issues with his attitude, effort and his PR team.

It's sad and a bit pathetic how fans side with player power especially with failing players.

I'm sorry, but he comes across as a total, utter bellend. Honestly, maybe Di Maria aside, he's easily the most dislikeable player & personality that I have ever seen at United in over 20 years watching the club.

Yes, he's way worse than Greenwood.

Get a grip, seriously.

I don't get why everyone is losing their shite over this.
The club wants to sell, most of the fans (even before these last two weeks) wants to see him leave, and the player wants to go. Sounds like everything is aligned. Yet there's so much anger around the the whole situation.
Rashford peaked for us more than 2 years ago. He needs to leave, everyone just need to calm down and let him go.
Agreed. I’m just amazed there is still a high level of support for him. He’s looked disinterested for years, to the point where I assumed that he’d fallen out of love with football and would retire early

You believed it was a club brief as recent as two days ago. What changed?

Makes perfect sense when you factor in it's already been agreed he'll leave. I think the club were just briefing so it's not a total surprise, then Rashford got in a huff because he wanted to announce it himself.

I think people backing him just look at the current attack - see it's utterly pony, and then see that we've got a guy who has had a couple of 25 goal seasons in recent memory.
English is not my first language so I'm going to ask for a clarification — I thought that to have a couple of something you have to have more than 1 of that thing?

‘Hysterical tantrums’ is an ironic phrase to use in this situation

Honestly, the wilful pretend ignorance on this thread is ridiculous. Yeah, there wasn’t an issue at all on Monday 16 December when there were loads of reports of the club looking to sell Rashford and how he was seen as a problem. All absolutely normal, nothing to see here. No way would Amorim have been asked about that. Completely on Rashford for then saying he wouldn’t want to make the situation worse and was open to a new challenge.

This isn’t making excuses for him. He’s clearly on his way out and we should be maximising the money we can get for him. It’s having some common sense and not trying to pretend that it’s Rashford engineering ituan exit.
Rashfords very own performances (& attitude) over the past 12-18 months have engineered this exit itself, in fairness.

Fascinating the lengths people will go to defend players who have blatantly not given a toss on or off the pitch for years. It’s like some weird kind of fan Stockholm syndrome.

I don't know how can anyone not side with Amorim on this. He separated Rashford from the squad, to protect/implement the group’s culture and discipline. Letting one player bend the rules, no matter how big their name is, can and will cause issues with team dynamics and set a bad example.

Amorim’s showing the squad that no one’s bigger than the team, keeping things fair and focused. It was intended to give Rashford time to refocus and come back stronger, but instead Rashford decided to do that interview which leaves Amorim no choice but to keep him sidelined.

Rashford is a player that believes he's better that he is. The thing to do was train hard, get your fire up and start showing some fight on the pitch, even if the performances don't came up good don't let anyone ever question your effort and desire.

Instead he choose the victim card, which he's used many times before. "Don't question my attitude because you don't know how many busses I took as a youngster to get to training" or some poor excuse like that. Really show just how mentally poor he is. The "we're part of the 0.01%" with Lingard as well. Showing "we've made it" when they were part of the poorest era in Manchester United modern times. He has a rotten mentality, acts as if he's got nothing to prove when he's achieved nothing worth mentioning.

I hope he never plays again for us. Set an example for everyone now and for the future, no one is above the team. You don't train hard no matter if you're an exciting academy product like Garnacho or the face of marketing like Rashford you won't even be selected. That's the way to raise standards.

I do feel sympathy for that to a certain degree. He is an academy product that had some very good seasons for us and went through thick and thin for the club under Ole. Off the pitch he seems a good guy too for the most part.

However he has shown a lack of professionalism and commitment the past couple of years so it's simply the best to part ways

Absolutely agree.

Guy played through injury for over a year for United to now be grouped up with Sancho. Crazy.

His form has been poor for a long while, and parting ways has been long overdue but some of the stuff in this thread doesn’t read as reasonable to me, but alas
Definitely.
There was a long period where he played through all sorts for our cause. And it was always noticeable that he was the anti-Martial in playing when he could have swerved it.

However, there's been too many of these little "disciplinary" issues and just standing there not trying to track back now, and the goal threat has totally worn off.

That's a bit harsh on Martial considering all his injury problems started immediately after he spent months playing through an injury where he was struggling to even run properly. We'll never know for sure, but there's a decent chance that continuing to play with that injury was a contributing factor to his body falling apart.

Gosh - this is all soo much easier when the player is not very good and hasn't been for a while now.

I hope the Rashford swap with Osimhen has some weight behind it. Delighted to see the back of him.

Honestly ridiculous that every press conference or interview is completely dominated by a player that was dropped from the national side and has been a rotation player for months.

English is not my first language so I'm going to ask for a clarification — I thought that to have a couple of something you have to have more than 1 of that thing?
Let me change it - 3 seasons averaging 24 goals.
You happy? :D

It's interesting that he has been able to spin this as him wanting to leave for his own reasons, but he has underperformed for so long, all the while taking home such a grossly inflated salary that I am really looking forward to seeing the back of him

True but I wasn't suggesting any of them are doing well outside of amad, who g+a for the games he's played is pretty good.
And we all know deep down that in any good team, Amad would just be a promising occasional appearances as sub, play the odd league cup game.

I think he would be a good player for any team. Not saying he would start ahead of certain players, his competition are the likes of Salah and saka.

I really don't get it. He had the chance to do what every United fan would give a kidney to be able to experience and live just for one day.

That just looks like a well rehearsed interview, if he really meant half of that he would be running through brick walls, like Beckham, Giggs and Rooney.

Not buying it, walking around the pitch with his shadow press.

Seconded

Someone should explain to mother rashy to let his football to do the talking

Absolutely this! If this club means so much to you as it should since you’ve been here since you were 7, you do your absolute most to help the club especially under the best and most practical manager we’ve had since Ferguson and you’ve decided to feck off within a month of him taking over.

It's no coincidence since a manager who comes in demanding running like mad dogs as the bare minimum, who has the Full Club Backing, he wants to leave.

this is all about his reputation and his PR team trying to make him appear like he's being exiled and pushed out.....mate, you've had more than enough chances to show on the pitch that Man Utd is home and how much it means to u

people would give their heart and soul to step onto that pitch wearing those colors and badge...would run until their legs fell off yet his effort is consistently poor

I wonder if that decent season he had, combined with his experience in taking on the government regarding school meals etc, heightened his awareness of PR and made him see himself as an anti-authoritarian, anti-establishment renegade. Add that to him seeing off a series of demanding coaches. He points to his head when he scores. It’s all in there, probably a very different world to that inhabited by … well, lesser, more conventional beings.

Exactly, however this time he has run out those 9 lives. He can't manoeuvre out of this one.

Listen, the interview started how he was feeding some poor children's or somethinglike that and the press came, mate, can we have a word? No way he still thinks people falls for that. He should have done the proper after football game interview, where he can say he's not happy but will do better. But no, let's go public, as big as possible.

Rashford was terrific in 22/23 but that's one season out of last 4. Not saying rest of the team was good in these seasons either but don't think many would be genuinely unhappy if he leaves as early as January. Whether if it's because he was playing with an injury for a long time or something else but he's not that good. At 27 should be at his best but that's not happening and with his new system under Amorim it probably wouldn't either.

It seems he'll leave and it's a shame in a way him being homegrown player etc but his wages are too big for someone with 1 good season out of last 4.

In his 10 seasons or so he is averaging 10 goals a season. Heck even a good attacking midfielder can bag that.

Agreed. I’m just amazed there is still a high level of support for him. He’s looked disinterested for years, to the point where I assumed that he’d fallen out of love with football and would retire early

He still could yet, his next move is likely to be a loan, which I expect to be a huge fail given his last two seasons. Then I suspect he will go to either Saudi or the MLS due to his salary demands. Inter Miami could come in for him if he goes over there.

After that it's anyone's guess but I'd be amazed if he made it beyond 31 at this rate.
