"Fan from Uruguay here. I wanted to get my opinion on Ugarte.

Ugarte is a quality player without a doubt, very good defensively and while hes not a creative specialist, hes more than decent on ball. He even played more avanced positions early in his carreer, hes not a límited player at all.

Also hes a winner, determined and very smart player. I think United has been missing a player like him for a long time and hes going to improve the team.

For that price tag hes for sure a solid bet.

PSG is a mess and Luis Enrique is a fundamentalist coach who only looks at possesion based offense, it wasnt a good place for him. Hes a great fit in Ten Hag high pressing, more direct style, just like Bielsa in our national team."

This was my take when Ugarte was close to signing with United. I guess i wasn't wrong haha.

Very proud of him starting to make an impact in such a big Club. Hope you can bring some more quality players and turn things around in the next few years.

Good to know your terrible takes aren’t just confined to the Fernandes thread.

Haha. I see you’re having a good time since Bruno finally had a decent game. Guess what? i’m also feeling good because I’m happy when Utd do well unlike some who are cult followers of players and not the club.

I can’t say more because I’ll probably get banned like last time. The standards of moderation vary a lot

Btw I’m happy seeing some who have pointed out the same. Ugarte needs a little work on his clearances like Martinez. Obviously can’t expect anything from people who consume games through excel sheets or those who have been wrong so many times for so long e.g preferring Berbatov over Tevez.

If you want to sympathise less for ten Hag — he wanted to keep McTominay and sign Amrabat on a permanent deal over signing Ugarte. The club opted for the latter.

I love how we all pick and choose who to blame for players. At the end of the day it's always a group decision, some you win some you lose. But lets not drag this to where it inevitable goes as soon as EtH is mentioned.

Ugarte MVP at the moment, loving his progress

Can he get a retrospective ban for the penalty melee? I hope not, but definitely worried if it’s a possibility.

Not like the FA know how to consider context or anything.

I love this guy. Think he's one of my favourite players in this current squad. A proper warrior and fighter.

I fully expect it tbh. Looked very similar to Hoijlund on Walker though. Havertz was just chancing his arm knowing the ref was desperate to award them anything their hearts desired.

He was a fecking monster yet again though. Really like watching him destroy attacks.

I don’t see why he would? He didn’t do anything. Garnacho was the one that shoved the Arsenal player to the ground. So yeah he’ll probably get a 3 game ban for hurting an Arsenal players feelings.

Such a solid signing in midfield. Love it when he wins the ball back high up

Been very impressed with how calm he is on the ball tbh, looking at clips from his PSG time it was a worry but he's much better than advertised there.

I wouldn’t put it past the FA to throw the book at him, they love making examples of United m

He did nothing, it was Garnacho who kind of made a meal out of it.

Thought he was very good again. There are countless little nudges and challenges where he's just that extra bit more physical than he needs to be which is great to see - for too long we are easy to play against, and having a few players who leave marks on opponents is important - within the rules I mean. I saw Martinez run by sterling today when a kick out was being taken and he just left a little bit of shoulder on him. These all add up over a game or at least if youre playing a soft team like united have been for too long, it is easier to play against.

Excellent performance again, work rate top drawer again. Loved him getting stuck in when it got heated too, just what is needed in!

Such a workforce, he isn't exactly elegant per say or without his share of mistakes but a player you'd love to have in your team, his combative south American spirit is just the chery on top.

He's brilliant and absolutely vital for us. Desperately need an energetic battler to backup him up or join him when needed. Unlikely to be as good as Ugarte is on the ball, he's just an excellent all around player, but our level drops a ton without his energy.

Loved it when he squared up to Havertz. Something Roy Keane would of done.

Need more of that backing up team mates.

Another good performance , far more energy in the team when he is in there and becoming a really important player for us.

He’s only about 5ft 9 and when he gets out on that pitch he uses all 6ft 2 of it.

Yeah thought he was excellent again.

Did he get a yellow card after the penalty was given? Surprised he came off otherwise.

He has been a transformational signing. Finally, we have a mobile and composed DM. Add his mentality to that. He doesn’t back down and will fight for the club and his teammates. Exactly what we needed.

Looking a really good player. We’ve really missed someone who gets involved in all the skirmishes, like Keane did. He’s a great age too, not someone here to wind down his career. Proper signing, proper player.

Absolutely loved to see him putting it on Havertz after his shameful diving antics. You could imagine this guy fitting right in when Fergie was manager. He's a throwback to better times.

Might be slightly unfair on him but I feel it needs to be said, he’s the closest to a Keane type midfielder we’ve had since the legend himself, gives absolutely everything and maybe is bit too much at times, keeps things neat and tidy, destroys oppo attacks and is deceptively skilful on the ball.. I absolutely love him and no wonder the gaffer does too..just a great footballer

Ederson if reports are being believed.
