Absolute gem.
Mainoo was good in this game too. I think that midfield combo worked pretty well against a high level opponentHe’s so fecking good. We need a partner for him in midfield.
Everyone went on about him being slow, but he’s really quick!Brilliant.
That burst of speed in midfield has been missing since Keane.
I just feel Mainoo’s defensive game is lacking. Too many times today McAllister was running off him and getting into dangerous positionsMainoo was good in this game too. I think that midfield combo worked pretty well against a high level opponent
That’s good point.I just feel Mainoo’s defensive game is lacking. Too many times today McAllister was running off him and getting into dangerous positions

Not forget Ando and Hargreaves as quick midfielders though.
Yea but Mainoo offers good dribbling and more going forward. Against weaker teams I think Ugarte can sit deeper and Mainoo can be a bit more offensive and it can work quite well.I just feel Mainoo’s defensive game is lacking. I wasn’t sure what kind of midfielder we got with Ugarte, but he’s becoming a favourite of mine. Amorim talked about leaders. Ugarte is showing leadership by doing what he does.Yeah you kind of forget about those two I suppose.
Yeah Ugarte is plenty quick enough. Really helps win those 50/50 balls.
And just very decent on the ball.
Mainoo was much better today than previously, and he battled much more. Still a little lacking in those duels, but then again, he’s still young and learning, and even Carrick and Scholes weren’t too fond of those duels.I just feel Mainoo’s defensive game is lacking. Exactly. Thing is who do you get to pair with him?Get another top midfielder next to him and the whole team will perform even better. He makes all the difference
