Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs: Gomes; Hutton, Bassong, Dawson, Bale; Bentley, Palacios, Jenas, Lennon; Keane, Defoe.

Subs to follow ...

Bloody strong Spurs lineup. Could be in trouble here.

We are the same as Besiktas except Pig, De Laet and Berbatov come in for Foster, Rafael and Macheda.

That a decent enough team. Bit worried about Palacios bossing the midfield, Anderson will have to have a good game.

PIG

Neville
Vidic
Brown
De Laet

Obertan
Anderson
Gibson
Park

Wellbeck [I didn't write this]
Berbatov

Not a bad line-up. And PIG and Berba start :D

Not sure about Anderson and Gibson though. It really didn't work against CSKA, i hope they click against the spuds.

edit: Just occured to me that theres no Nani in there. A January departure perhaps ?

Looking forward to seeing the front 2. Looked pretty good together against Southampton last season.

Bloody strong Spurs lineup. ...
Well, up to a point.

But the team has none of the Spurs first-choice back 4, plus no Modric or Kranjcar ... some of it due to injuries (Modric, King, Woodgate), one due being to cup-tied (Kranjcar), some due to resting players (Corluka and Ekotto).

will be surprised if we get through ..
a lot more experience in that spurs team

So basically you are resting two players, others couldn't have played in any case?

Few teams can match Spurs in terms of the depth of their squad - luckily they are 3-4 players short of a really good first-team to match the best

Spurs subs: Walker, Corluka, Naughton, Huddlestone, Rose, Crouch, Pavlyuchenko

It's good to see a team as good as we have - and know that we have 14-15 players who are as good or better that could have started that match.

If we defend like we have been lately it could be a long night.

glad to see De Laet get the start lad puts in a hard tackle.

Dimitar Berbatov returns to face his old club Spurs as Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson shuffles his pack again after the win at Portsmouth. Ferguson was stung by criticism of his young brigade after the Champions League defeat against Besiktas at Old Trafford, but he has shown faith again as Gabriel Obertan, Danny Welbeck and Darron Gibson start. A rest on the bench for Ryan Giggs tonight. Spurs captain Robbie Keane is back after being restricted to the bench against Aston Villa and starts up front with Jermain Defoe.
