Can someone reverse this gif?

He'll be back injured by March.

I was right but to be honest he's managed to be worse than even I expected.

I thought he'd make 1 or 2 sub appearances at least, to break down before he can even make a cameo may be a new low.

There can be no doubt now, he's utterly finished. He'll be here until his contract runs out then he'll retire like Phil Jones. Another wonderful bit of business by Utd to give him a huge long term contract.

Martial has 39 more appearances than him.

Bruno, despite being at the club for less than half the amount of time (10.5 years vs 5 years), is only 10 appearances behind him.

Even when factoring in the leg break this is terrible.

He has a contract until 2027. No one’s gonna buy him.

Oh, I know. Ideally one would go for a mutual termination, but that's unlikely to happen. I wonder if the club put in a termination clause (at some reduced cost) when he extended his last contract given his injury record. Perhaps that's expecting too much of United.

Phil Jones
Antony Martial
Luke Shaw
Mason Mount
Lisandro Martinez

Our list of players who were/are constantly injured for multiple years is insane

And who exactly is to blame for his weight fluctuations ? Never looks like an athlete, a basic prerequisite for a fullback. Another overrated English footballer who has been given more buffet than he deserves.

Shaw is emblematic of Manchester United's failure. A symbol of rewarding under performance and poor standards. Same goes for Maguire
He was easily one of the top FBs in the league under Ole and for the most part in ETH's first season. If you actually do some research into it you'll find how much his leg break affected his fitness. He basically had to learn how to walk and run again.

He was never going to someone who was going to stay fit for long periods of time due to the numerous muscle issues that arose after the leg break and it was always going to get worse as he got older. That's on the club for giving him a new contract.

We forgot the first rule of squad building: get your money on the pitch.

Is there any reputable source for this new injury or are people being wanks?

Absolutely need to get rid of these injury-riddled players like Shaw and Mount. They are an even bigger personification of this piss-weak current version of this football club than the likes of Rashford, Casemiro etc...

This

Whoever renewed his contract last time was criminally optimistic or a complete moron. Probably both
It has to be criminal. The way some wages and fees were negociated the past 4 years can only mean someone benefitted financially from them, there is no other explanation.

Embarassing reactions to a fake rumour!

(Feel free to quote me when he gets injured for 2 months next week)

Yes he tried to play for his country at a major tournament. Massive crime that.

Can you please list some instances apart from this summer's Euros where he was unavailable to play for us but playing for England?

I wrote a few months ago that he made his England debut the year before Harry Kane. Shaw has 34 caps, Kane more than triple that at 103. He’s not prioritising England, he just wants to play football. For Utd or England.
The way some on here respond to their frustration at his absence is truly embarrassing.

Can only agree. I can understand the frustration, but some reactions are a disgrace

Why can't footballers be sacked.

Any other walk of life and he would've been sacked years ago.
The same reason they can't walk out during the contract and sign for another club? Surely, this concept can't be that difficult to understand?

I thought I'd pick you too ask as you are obviously clearly clued up on all things contract.

What's the reason managers can be sacked under contract but players can't then?

Completely agree. Like he's sitting at home delighted with himself at each new injury setback. I'm as frustrated as anybody that he's never available for us but he must be heartbroken.

The thing that confuses me the most is that right now Shaw is only doing the crap part of his job. Weights, gym work, physio. recovery etc. Probably a lot of individual work. What he’s missing is the exciting, adrenaline filled part with all the camaraderie. He’s probably more frustrated than any Utd fan.

The contract is the contract. It’s up to the parties to agree on the terms. A player isn’t going to agree to a contract if he can be sacked for getting injured.

Players can be sacked, but like managers the club will have to pay up their entire contract. Utd can sack Shaw by paying the remainder of his contract, just as they did with Ten Hag.

They can be but unless it’s for gross misconduct we still have to pay up the contract. Same goes with managers. The difference being that managers don’t attract a fee the same way a player can.

Of course he is, he can't do the thing he loves. People act as if Shaw owed them something and he's letting them down by daring to be injured, when it's just that. A guy being injured on the job

And there's also no point in keeping a disgruntled, wantaway manager

People can’t see past the wealth and fame sometimes. It’s an alien concept to some that he is a human being.

Shaw having the number of injuries he has can be attributed to the fact that he clearly carries far too much weight. Hard to feel too much sympathy for him when he can’t be offered with either an appropriate diet or exercise regime to keep his weight down.

The reactions on here aren't disgraceful or embarrassing - I would level both those at someone who earns £7.8 million per year for never ever doing what they're paid for. He broke his leg TEN years ago.

Regardless of whether he's back on Monday or in 4 weeks, it's time we cut ties. As good as he is when he's fit, he's never actually fit.

There's not point playing him at the detriment of other players because he's never going to have a full season and be a first team regular so you can't make plans for the team with him in it.

Sad times but he should be nowhere near the first team.
