The real question is how do we get rid of him? He is a injury prone player with a big salary and a contract until summer 2027. Not sure if anyone wants to buy him considering those circumstances. Maybe a loan with a buy option?

Luke Shaw is just another proof of the mismanagement of the club or "let's just hope" strategy.
He got injured training to be ready for the season. You can’t pay players to do something with carries a significant chance of injury, and then end their contracts if they hurt themselves.
Most 'everyday workers' aren't playing contact sports where you can easily get one injury and be missing for months and months - even a year. Never really undertand the comparisons of the two.
But I agree it's as frustrating as hell that Shaw's body isn't even allowing him to get onto the pitch most of the time before he's already got his latest injury. And even when he does, it doesn't need to be a contact one - just pulls up with no one about and that's it for the next few months.
Seemingly, his body just can't handle even full training or running at full pace in games anymore - just quickly breaks down even without needing any nasty foul or anything.
You have to laugh. It’s never nice to see a long term injury but any sort of sympathy is lost with me when he went playing for England. Should be at the top of the list of players to get rid of he’s a complete waste of time

They offered and agreed a contract with the player. Good luck agreeing a contract with a player that gives the club permission to cut him loose in the event he suffers and injury.
Great player but he isn’t earning his keep in the medical room. You have to cut players like this loose sooner or later and I really like Shaw. I reckon he would do very well in this system as the LCB but you can’t trust him to stay fit, we could finally be playing well in the future and Shaw will have his bi-annual 4 month break and ruin it.
Imagine making the decision to give Shaw a long term contract knowing his injury history. Insanity

I really don't get the hate for Shaw on here. Yes he's finished now and we shouldn't have given him a new contract but why hate the player for that? People actually like he deliberately gets injured.
And having a go at him for going to play for his country in a major tournament is laughable. If he was fit then and selected, then why not go? Plus even there he played like 2 matches.

Should have offered him a pay as you play contract
Because he did everything possible to play for England. It's not just one instance where he is completely unavailable for United, but suddenly pops up all fit and ready for Euro or World cup, and gets injured immediately upon return.

After spending much of the last 18 months without any of Shaw, Martinez and Malacia being available - there was a moment when it looked like all three could be in the squad at the same time. Now they're all out of it again.

I think that 22/23 season with the WC wedged in between caused some serious long term damage to a lot of players.
And who exactly is to blame for his weight fluctuations ? Never looks like an athlete, a basic prerequisite for a fullback. Another overrated English footballer who has been given more buffet than he deserves.
