Should have gone for Ferdi instead of Mazaraoui. We needed a LB more, Malacia and Shaw will be injured for most of the season.

This guy is of absolutely no use to us anymore. In 10 years time he’s probably going to come out with an interview talking about how sad he was about the criticism he took from United fans just for being injured, but he absolutely deserves it. He has made no effort to lose his perpetual pot belly despite being a professional footballer and continually chooses England over the club that pays his wages.

If only we had INEOS back in 2014. They’d have gutted him the moment the first accusation of a lack of professionalism was made towards him by LvG mere weeks after their first meeting.

Don’t be a big Jessy.

Shaw's contract runs until 2027. Not got a cat in hell's chance of shifting him. Not point in talking about what he can do when fit if he never is.

Hopefully that means we finally move to replace him this summer. Sick of this guy. Injury may not be his fault but he's had too easy a ride since joining us.

What does it matter if Shaw is the greatest player on earth? Best quality of a footballer is availability.

INEOS have up to a year to look for a specialist left back.

Elite clubs would not allow Shaw to go to the euros. Fergie would have never allowed him to go, the club is too nicey-nicey.

I’m not sure what “too easy a ride” means. He had a horrific near career ending double leg break whilst playing for us and has been plagued with injuries pretty much ever since. It’s a sad situation for such a talented player.

He's got three years left on his latest big contract. The only way he's leaving the club is if they pay him off.
Might as well just take the L, terminate his contract and move him on like Arsenal did with Auba, Lacazette and few other overpaid deadwoods. At least Casemiro has his uses as he can stay fit for more than 2 minutes unlike this guy, even if he is past it.

I agree no one will touch him now even with a barge pole. We have to move on from him. Even a half decent full back who can stay fit for the whole season will improve us ten fold than a world class full back who's available for like 15 games a season.

We extended his contract last year till 2027. He's pretty much the new Varane now.

We shouldn't be looking at a back up, we need to be looking a quality regular starter.

It's astonishing how he was allowed to go to the euros after missing almost all of last season, instead of getting proper recovery and preparation with the team.

People getting angry at him for being injured are being very silly.
No posts I’m seeing are mad at him. But the club do need to find long-term replacement for him. This is getting silly now. I couldn’t work 250 days in 3 years and expect to keep my job even if I’m incredible on the days I do show up

Quality control
What does a calf injury have to do with behaving like a toddler?
I think the dictionary definition for ‘Jessy’ sums Shaw the footballer up very well over the past 10 years, and I also think LvG and Mourinho would categorically agree. Personally, I did not and would never insult him as a man, I just stated things about him as a footballer that we already know.

We can't plan with Shaw being available because he's never got through a season uninjured. A decade is too long, he should have been got rid of a long time ago, Mourinho was dead right about him. He obviously doesn't want to be injured but it's time he pissed off and we got a non injury prone left back.

Injuries are not something you punish a player for. You know that, right?

Some posts are more than a bit daft.

It’s frustrating, and the club need to look into bringing in another first team left back, but there’s a rational response to this and then there’s acting like a numpty.

Not convinced you've been reading all that many then. From this page...

Again pushing a narrative , ETH has also said Zirkzee is not as fit as the rest . He is just been cautious with Shaw .

What narrative, I cant believe united fans still do not this player after 10 years..

Your posts have quite literally insulted him and his professionalism. You’re probably sat in your boxers.

Do people not get tired of deluding themselves about him counting as a footballer? He's cooked. He's not going to hit even 15 matches in a season ever again. But plenty of fans still think we're covered at left back. That he's part of our best eleven etc etc

Ten Hag and Ashworth you would think must be starting to realise we might need a new left back.
He'll be back to his best next world cup.

Definition: (as seen in dictionary)

re·li·a·ble
/rəˈlīəb(ə)l/ - consistently good in quality or performance; able to be trusted.
Antonym - Luke Shaw

He's a top class player but we should really try to move him on. Just completely unreliable.

Frustrating. When fit, he's great option at LB and maybe even as good at LCB, especially as he's getting older. But it's obvious we can't rely on him to stay fit. Next summer Shaw will be 30 and with 2 years left on his contract and if there are buyers, sell him. Do think it'll be difficult for us to sell him as clubs will know his injury record.

Anyone who thought Shaw would have a good fitness season is kidding themselves. He rushed back from a previous big injury to make it in time for the euros and missed pre season. At 30, for an injury prone player like him, that's a death sentence for your next season. He's going to be rushing to be fit all season rather than gradually building it after a proper rest.

We all knew this was going to happen...he'll play a maximum of 10 games this season.

He’s one the best LB’s in PL on merit. The impact on the team’s defence as well as the wingers is clearly visible if he’s not playing.

Him being injured can always be a result of us not managing him well, case in point when we brought him back in mid season early, only for him to be ruled out for another extensive period.

Your posts have quite literally insulted him and his professionalism. You’re probably sat in your boxers.
That’s an extremely odd and personal last sentence. You seem wound up and I don’t think my impersonal criticism of Shaw caused it. Hope your day gets better mate.

Seems more interested in playing for England than the club paying his stupid wages.

Need to find his long term replacement asap.

Bizarrely getting fit to play at the Euros after doing nothing all season and then mysteriously being injured again the second he's expected to put in a shift for his club is not a good look at all.

Maybe if it was anyone else but this sort of thing happening when you have a history of managers questioning your commitment is not a great look either

This tickled me because I actually am sat here in just my boxers. It’s also a random insult, which I like

This rushing back for England thing is also cobblers. He’s been on an individual training plan since February and continued that with England physios all the way up until mid July. The alternative would have been ending the season in May and going on holiday.

The suggestion that daily rehabilitation with England has had any impact on his current calf injury is baseless.

The top and bottom of it with Shaw is that his body isn’t up to it. It’s quite sad, but it’s a tale as old as time. In the last twenty years alone you can point to the likes of Phil Jones, Kieron Dyer, Dean Ashton, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Owen and many more. It is what it is. What matters in the short term is that the club look to solve the problem in the transfer market.

In 10 years time he’s probably going to come out with an interview talking about how sad he was about the criticism he took from United fans just for being injured, but he absolutely deserves it. He has made no effort to lose his perpetual pot belly, which undoubtedly has not helped with his injuries, and continually chooses England over the club that pays his wages.

The fat shaming starts again. Truth is he has a stocky build but the notion that he is in any way fat is a myth trotted out by his haters every time they want to bash him, there is plenty of visual evidence to refute this but I am not about to link pictures of a half naked Shaw and risk getting accused of NSFW posting.
