Looks like it’s finally falling into place for him now. Surely no going back?

He’s steadily improving and becoming more of a genuine attacking threat as the games go by.

What a change this season, he seems like another player! Hope he keeps it up, he is proving to be everthing we hoped 4 years ago.

All the questions about needing new fullbacks seem to be fading into the background now.
That's great and frees up resources for other areas of the team moving forward..

Very good game again today, continues his impressive start to the season. Won us a penalty and also could've had an assist or two, doesn't let much past him defensively either I've noticed.

I've always stated this when people were giving out about him. He's honestly 1 of the best defensive full backs around but doesn't get credited for it. His first touch is that you'd expect from a Brazilian full back too yet it's never mentioned.

His attacking is also very good but he can't cross the ball to save his life, unfortunately.

I thought Luke Shaw's defensive quality is well known since it is what got him noticed at Southampton? He's an absolute tank, fantastic at winning headers, great pace and strength.

The last time Luke Shaw got hammered defensively was last season when Brighton put 3 players on him and he was left on his own. He is a fantastic 1v1 defender.

Mourinho giving him some tough love and then chances to prove himself has been tremendous, can only picture it having a played some significant part in his turn-around. Was feeling a bit fed up as he really did look to be carrying a significant gut this summer, but he finally looks like the player he was before breaking his leg.

Long may it continue!

We'll still need to bring in another left back though as Young is 33 and not got long left.

Demetri Mitchell as Shaw's understudy at the end of the season?

With performances like this, I think we are able to phase out Young now. Although he potentially has more legs left than Valencia, so could transfer to RB.

His first touch is absolutely excellent, I know Pogba's a hell of a passer but every time he sends it to Shaw he brings it down with ease.

He's so good and confident on the ball his passes almost always go to feet etc been very impressed with him this season and am really chuffed for him. Deffo our No.1 left back now which with Young as backup isn't shabby! Funny how our fullback 'crisis' seems to have totally disappeared in the first few matches of the season !

Proud to say I was one of the few that believed in him to make a storming comeback this season, the most consistent outfield player in our squad at the moment.

I thought he looked poor in pre-season but now he's been probably our best player since the start of the season, amazing turnaround, his low cross tonight especially is really good, hope he stays fit

What a turnaround it has been. He's been a revelation at the back and there is nothing more refreshing than a fullback running up and down the channels. Saved us a good £50m. He was my MOTM.

If he can stay injury free, that left back spot would be his for the next 10 yrs. That Sandro didn't come, more and more become a blessing in disguise for United.

So what happens when he leverages how good he's actually been all season to get a great signing bonus at some other club and leave for a free next summer? That honestly seems like a very, very likely scenario at this point.

Then that club would get a player with questionable professional integrity.

Another good performance. Even when the team has been poor this season, he has kept his level up. We need to sign him up and soon.

Like Rooney needs a run of games to play into match fitness.

We'll have to see. Lets hope he see's that the club stood by him throughout his extended recovery from injury and that he's actually at a major club. Will be very difficult and expensive to replace if he decides he wants something else. Clubs will be lining up to take him on a freebie.

We are one of the best paying clubs in the world. It's very unlikely that he'll leave. He has also been quite upfront with his desire to stay. I'm expecting a new contract to be signed soon.

He was excellent throughout. Seems to have sorted out his concentration issues which to me was his biggest weakness. No more brain farts during the match.

I certainly hope that's the case, but also why would he say anything to the contrary knowing that'd likely just mean he won't be playing at all and therefore has no chance to impress any other clubs. We're very obviously at least in the running but it certainly isn't going to be as straightforward as taking what he says at face value.

We are probably looking at paying him a hefty sign on bonus and a decent size new contract. He'd totally deserve it too if he performs like he has been for the entire season. Don't believe that he'd leave for another club.

Chuffed for the guy. Seems like all his troubles were more mental after that serious injury. Looks a totally different player now that he has overcome that and got his confidence back. Needs to do it consistently now.

Just stay fit please. If he keeps it up, the left back is sorted. Still early days though.

Why? Jose has mostly shown no intention of using/developing him up until this season. Why wouldn't Shaw use this opportunity to get a good deal for himself for another club. He doesn't owe United anything.

Jose specifically mentioned him in an answer when the question was about Dalot's performance.

If Pogba hadn't scored 2 I'd have him as my MOTM. Could have had a few assists tonight, those low drilled crosses and our RW cutting across the box to them could be a handy tool for us.

Another very good display. So happy for Shaw and for us that he's finally delivering what we all knew he was capable of.

He had a great link with Pogba throughout the game, getting in behind to those long diagonals on the left wing. He also came up against a very dangerous player going the other way in Mbabu, who is a real athlete. Got caught out early on, perhaps surprised by how fast and powerful he was, but after that he dealt with him very well.

4 yrs with 47 appearances, mostly due to getting injured and fat. Yeh, I think he owes United a bit.

This will be the season of Luke Shaw. LVG already said it once but it never happened because of the injury. Never too late I suppose.

I couldn't believe how confident he looked last night. Popping off first time crosses from 30 yard passes (leading to the penalty). He's definitely on the right track to finally fulfilling the potential we all knew he had. The two wing-back positions will be key for us this year and it even though, we only made 1 signing for the wing-back spots, it feels like we made two as Shaw has been a revelation. Martial take note - that is what the right attitude and hard-work can do for you!!!

Based on the couple of inch perfect crosses he made last night? One of which for Mata I think...

Yup. He's either working on them or got lucky .

I'm completely pro Shaw but one good game of crosses doesn't hide every other cross he's played for United. He has a good daisy cutting cross on him but that become predictable and won't work well against a team packing their box. Also doesn't help bring out the beast in the air that is Lukaku.
