Man Utd 1:1 Wolves
Not great today. Not as switched on. Still one of the better players though and at least looked like he wanted it somewhat.

He was excellent today, could teach our captain how to play full back. Luke is a changed man, a bright spark of a very disappointing side.

One of the few highlights of this season is how he's proved so many of us wrong (including me).
Starting to think he could actually be a long termer for us after all.

Thought he was alright, didn't help that he was left exposed most times by the players ahead of him.

Got better as the game went on. Was still working hard up to the end to try to make something happen.

General play was fine but defensively exposed too often, failed to cut out crosses, including those for their goal and the big chance early on that De Gea saved with his feet. Didn't offer much going forwards until we were chasing the game, decent cross for Fellaini's header.

Been surprisingly good this season but not today.

Didn't see the game but saw the goal we conceded. Is Jose gonna blame him for letting the cross in and reinstate Young as our left-back :nervous:

Brilliant defensively after the first 20 minutes and had several good tackles and headers. Very exposed on the left as he had no support but still dealt with it well.

Have to hope he actually wants to sign a new contract, I'm sure plenty of good teams will be interested in taking a punt on him if they can get him on a free.

His wages are already pretty high apparently, so that might dissuade a few of them...

Couldn't get forward as much as he had a real battle with Helga Posta, but took care of Traore with ease and still provided a couple of good crosses, one Fellaini should have done better with.

he had bellow par first 20 minutes but in the second half he raised his game a level or two. Hope he keeps that up

While I still lean towards holding Pogba responsible for their goal given the casualness with which he gave up possession, he’s still a flair player who lost the ball on the halfway line. Wolves had a lot to do, and Shaw should have definitely stopped the cross. Maybe because he was on a booking, but I go back to that fateful game away at Watford 2 years ago where he was trying to stop every cross from 10 yards away, and there were similarities today.

His fitness has improved so much, which has meant his positioning has improved a lot too as he isn't getting gassed like before. He's back!

First 20-30 minutes had me remembering THAT Shaw. Just did not seem switched on at all and lacked any quickness or pace. He also was 100% to blame for the goal - he should have been ruthless in finishing that cross from coming in. However he seemed to dig deep and finish the game not too bad. It was a weird game for him as I don’t think he’s faced such direct dribbling attackers this season

He needs to get tighter to wingers going outside. The cross shouldn't have come in. Someone like Bailly wouldn't have allowed it because he is super aggressive and knows how to cover off the danger. Shaw is quite timid sometimes. Even in the first half he was passed too easy for their chance. I'm very happy with him this season he is one of our best players but this is something to improve.

Shaky first few mins, then grew and play awesome again. Apart from that cross leading to their goal, defensively he's good.

Wolves attacks his side a lot more in the recent game, keeping him checked at the back. Not much attacking today except at the later minutes.

Okay, I'm impress with his crossing technique. He can deliver good cross from deep. Haven't seen that before. Usually he'll do run to endline and cross.

How is it 'surprising' how good he has been?

Another solid display, yes at fault for the goal but Pogba lost the ball needless in Midfield. Overall a solid 7 out 10 performance.

He's been fine this season so far but hardly anything special (which isn't an insult). He's managed to pull himself back from the brink (I 100% thought he was getting booted out) and he's clearly at least a squad rotational option for future squads.

We still need a top left back to give him some competition (not fecking Ashley Young).

I agree - I would like Tierney having both him and Shaw would be great.

There were a couple of crosses that shouldn't have come in; he still needs to do a lot of work on that, but he was very good other than that.

He's looking really committed at the moment and I think he can only get better. It's great to see it happen for him again.

After a bright start this season he's been quite poor again. No driving runs forward, another goal conceded down his flank, just offered nothing really. Team confidence might be pulling him down but would have liked to have seen more fight.

Just like Valencia, he is awful at crossing. Poor for a supposed attacking full back.

Really think he is not near as good as a lot say he his. Maybe he will do better under a new manager, maybe he will improve his crossing and all 'round attacking displays but I just see a less imposing Valencia at the moment. I think he was partly at fault for Wolves goal last week and West Ham's first today too, it seems opposition managers see a weakness. When I compare him to our supposed rivals options he is near the bottom of the list at the moment.

Not great today but I put it down to the manager now. The whole team is performing way below their level.

Can’t take blame for the first goal - he positioned himself based on the fact that the runner behind him is or should be miles offside however little did he know we had a CB that didn’t have a clue what offside even is never mind how to position himself. A little sprinkle of linesman blindness and it looked a lot worse on Shaw. One of the fundamentals they teach you as a CB in playing the offside line is to take a step up if you see a winger trying to run in behind your line, mctominay obviously never had to have that coached in him.

Having said that, Shaw does generally do a poor job at shutting down crossing attempts down his channel

Think he's starting to look quite dodgy lately. His form has dropped a little bit and he looks less energetic. Hopefully nothing serious.

i am putting the whole thing on Mourinho. As people have previously mentioned, Majority of our squad would look much better under new management

For Shaw it doesn't make sense since he was good even when we were losing to Brighton and Spurs earlier.

We've conceded several goals via the left side this season. On top of my mind today and against spurs also the wolves one(albeit little harsh). worried about his defending abilities and his crossing is poor for a modern fullback.
