Luis Suárez

How morally corrupt can any football fan be? I know that modern day fans are required to accept certain aspects of a player's personality but suarez does not deserve whatever support he is already getting from fans.
I'm referring to the part where he doesn't play for Liverpool anymore. As far as I'm aware, he hasn't been transferred yet and it's all speculation, right?

Liverpool fans hate liars don't they?

Good riddance and I hope he does it again in Spain so Barcelona have to deal with his pathetic nonsense.

If Barca, Suarez & his acolytes truly believe LFC will accept less than valuation HE agreed in latest deal it is going to be a LONG summer.

The negotiations will probably start very far apart and Liverpool will probably have to accept a bit less then what they want. Suarez will push Liverpool and maybe hand in a transfer request, Barca will also take their time and wear you down.

It's not always pretty when Barca and Real comes for your top player, and you just can't stand in the way as it will happen. Trust me, we know.

I don't think we'll accept less than his release clause.

Suarez will make this ugly if you do not give him what you promised last year, so you will just have to. Welcome to having a fantastic player that want to play in Spain.

Does he have a release clause in his new contract unlike his old one? Remember Wenger bidding a pound more than the release clause last year but it being rejected as it not actually being a release clause.. :wenger:

I hope this gets as ugly as possible and becomes a long drawn saga with bridges burned and stuff like that. Liverpool must be wary of spending the summer haggling over a few million only to lose the player when there is little time to spend on reinforcements or get to keep an unhappy player who has torched his relationship with the club.

Seeing as he's banned for the first 4 months of the season, Suarez will hold very little sway in trying to force through a transfer this summer. Our manager & owners have shown they can play hardball when it comes to Luis Suarez. I certainly don't see anything different happening this time around. Barca will have to cough up the cash, or part with someone like Sanchez & a decent sum of money.

It will be the same shit as last year. "I never wanted to leave, I love Liverpool and the fans etc." after giving multiple interviews about how much he wants to leave.

Do you think he respects your lot so much that he'll act in a civil manner for this? Do you think he's mature enough to care?

No, but it really doesn't matter what he says/does. Barcelona can match the release clause or we'll keep him and squeeze another 30 goals out of him.

Ronaldo played his best football for us whilst wanting to go and play in Spain.

There are no certainties as to what the fee will be. The only certainty is that he is going to leave. It's already a foregone conclusion.

Would love to see Liverpool fans crumble at losing Suarez but really, I hope he stays. He is a vile human and he really suits them down to the ground. It's that sort of love to hate with Suarez.

The Echo are reporting that the club expect to receive an opening bid to be made soon. They've also said that the club had no knowledge about Suarez writing that apology.

Remember when I said that he doesn't give a shit about your club or the fans? How he's only out for himself?

that apology is a farce. It came too late and most likely due to pressure from anybody. It's not honest. The fact he appealed against that decision and the statements he has given after that incident clearly shows he didn't understand and his last apology was worth nothing. His ban should be extended iso of reduced!

Are you looking forward to Suarez presumably joining? Would you want your club to pay £70m+ for him?

Hard to really weigh in on figures like that, especially with the game constantly changing & more money being thrown around. When sideshow Bob goes for €50 million, not sure what a good number of players should/would go for

If he joins, I think he could be that Stoichkov sort of signing giving the squad a scoring #9 it hasn't had since Samu. I remember him being linked to Barcelona back when he was in Holland and I never watched enough of him with Ajax to think he would be a good addition. I watched a lot more this past season and it was the first time I really appreciated his game and his intensity on the pitch. It's one of those potential signings that could be genius or blowup. The one thing I do know apart from his links to the region and Pep's brother is that he has almost always spoken highly about Barcelona

You never know how these things can work out but I'm more for the move than against it, tbh. When Sanchez was coming in, I was nervous with excitement because of the possibilities but now we have seen he's more a hard working creator than goalscorer and someone has to take the pressure off of Leo up top and I think Suarez could be that player

As for the club and what they should do in general? I'd love the board to take a leap off the side of a tall building, gotta have new elections and rid us of these corporate whores who are killing the club

He's really hung pretty much everyone out to dry this Summer. Bites Chiellini, then denies it, then admits to doing it after his international manager, teammates and even the President of the country strongly back up his denial. He's made them all look right mugs. And he only apologised because he knows it'll help get him a move away from a club that backed him to the hilt throughout a racism scandal and another biting incident.

No doubt he's still a complete hero according to LFC fans though.

BTW, @BarneyLFC Did you see this dramatic change in Suarez that the article eluded to wrt Peters' involvement in therapy? Because he looked amazing to me but I didn't really watch Liverpool the year before

Nice read on the player

Just sounds like more excuses for his actions. It reads like "feel sorry for him, he's a human being" and seems to try make you think Suarez is the only footballer who comes from poverty. No, he's the only footballer who has bitten players three times, racially abused another player and had no remorse in any of those cases.

It used Zidane as an example. Well, if Zidane had headbutted three players then I'm also sure he'd have been given a severe ban. And it's weird how the writer also makes it seem like Suarez wouldn't be able to live if it wasn't for football. Um, no, he'd just be like all the rest of us guys who don't have the unique talent of a world class player.

Sorry but Suarez, Uruguay, Liverpool fans, now Barca fans, the ban was just. Don't make excuses for him, just deal with it.

He's going to be irreplaceable for the Scousers.

He was very well behaved on the pitch this season and this was coupled with his best season to date. He was involved with less diving, no major incidents, no nasty challenges and he was saying and doing all the right things. He still kept his will to win and his attitude/desire never changed, but the nastier incidents were cut out. I think Peters probably did have some effect on Suarez, but I also think he was helped by the fact that our season was a good one.

Liverpool need to be planning how to spend that money very, very wisely.

The worst thing that they could do is repeat the farce that happened when Torres was sold. I hope that they do panic and repeat it mind you. Benteke for 40m would do nicely indeed. :)

I would take buying another Carroll if it meant bringing in another Suarez.

What have you made of Alberto being loaned out to Malaga?

It's a good move for a player Rodgers clearly doesn't think is ready/doesn't rate. At the very least it'll hopefully increase his value so we can sell him.

So, what's new on this racist Cannibal today? How much are Barca paying to Liverpool for him and what will they be doing for FIFA to have the ban reduced?
