It was the same, the refs just ignored it. Same amount of scummy dive play acting and same amount of cnutish behaviour.

It was better, really, but not because of how well he behaved this year but because of how unbelievably bad-behaved he was a few years before that.
He rarely does something bad when everything is going his way and everything was going his way until the new year, I think - then he lost his form a bit and started diving again, especially in the big games.

Nah. I really dislike his antics and his apparent inability to take any responsibility for his actions but I must say he was markedly improved last season. There was far less ankle/achilles raking and diving in general than the previous season.

55m or so should be more than enough for a player who will anyway miss 10 games minimum each season after biting or racially abusing someone.

Improved as in he went from a gigacunt to just an uber cnut. None the less the scummery was still the same. He tried it on all season and mainly got it after seemingly being crucified at every turn the season prior.

Sterling I think went easier to ground last season than Suarez. But our season as a whole was not one of much diving. Probably due to how well we were playing.

Still, there are some who see any remotely questionable foul, see it is Suarez and immediately conclude he dived and cheated again. If you only apply that metric to a select few players of course they will come out looking like the worst players in the league.

Ah but you'd got to remember racially abusing someone in Spain is only worthy of a fine of about £35.

To be fair, I don't think you lot have gotten to see him enough. I think he has real quality

He looks expertly tidy and that's it. Like some sort of blandly generic tiki-taka player.

Zubizarreta (Barca's sporting director): "Suarez had the honour to come out an apologise for his actions and now it's time for him to begin the recovery process"

Most scripted transfer ever, this. ffs.

They even wheeled out a player quote:

Rakitic on Suarez: "To have the character and strength to apologise in front of the world shows what a noble person he is."

This is subtle stuff. Almost like a spy saga.

It is like something straight out of Russia.

Serious question. Why Barca need Suarez when they have Messi, Neymar, Sanchez and Pedro?

I mean they splashed some heavy cash for a player in Suarez position.

None of those players are an out and out striker to be fair. Suarez is probably the best striker in the world. It will be interesting to see how they line up though if they do sign him.

I wanted to highlight the most insane part of Rakitic's comment, but I couldn't really pick one out. The whole quote is incredible. He didn't even hold a press conference or give an interview where he apologised, he posted a fecking apology letter (which was pretty much a carbon copy of the one he posted after biting Ivanovic) on twitter.

But yeah, clearly Barca-bound. His whole "change of mind" and now the Barca quotes - it's only a matter of time.

Can Barca please quickly seal this fecking transfer!!! I never understand why a straight forward transfer with a known release fee has to be dragged with silly bids that are nowhere near the asking price. Do Barca insert a clause in players' contracts requiring them to tap up potential signings?!

Those Zubizaretta/Rakitic quotes could just as easily be Dalglish/Gerrard. It's amazing this mans ability to get people to act like fecking idiots for him.

It's a Marquee signing for Barca to keep their supporters happy after winning feck all last season. PLUS they don't own a striker and Suarez will guarantee goals (and trouble!)

It's what has been missing in terms of the attack which will relieve pressure on Messi

Get Sanchez and a good deal of cash and it'll work out nicely for you. Despite his obvious talent, he has tarnished your clubs reputation and some of your legends (Dalglish, Gerrard) have tarnished their own in defending him. You might struggle to replace him and be worse off next season, but in the long run Liverpool FC are better of rid of him.

Give him time. He'll f*ck them over too, like he does everyone else.

To Barcelona, forcing Sanchez to go to Liverpool matters only if it results in Liverpool bringing down their asking price for Suarez by good amount. Otherwise how does it matter? They get the 30-35m from Arsenal or Juventus and pay Liverpool in cash for Suarez.

Can you imagine if he bites a Real Madrid player.

I will be bitterly disappointed if he doesn't to be honest. The reaction would be too good.

Ramos I think will be the most likely candidate, if he bites Pepe, all hell will break lose...

So the BBC are reporting that talks have started today between a move to Barcelona for Suarez. Apparently Barcelona are still going to pay £80million sterling! Can anyone tell me if this fee would eclipse Bales or Ronaldo's? Depending on inflation, I think.

It's insane how barca and madrid regularly spend these crazy fees for players, without it affecting their future spending. And it's defence where barca need to really spend.

BBC stated we want £80m or a deal involving Sanchez, but Barcelona only value him at £60m. Hopefully it stays that way and we keep him (can't see that happening though).
