Television Lost: The Final Season

Absolutely loved Lost, but never ended up watching more than about 2 episodes of the final season. I wouldn't have a clue what was going on if I tried now. By the sounds of it no one did anyway so I'd be totally....lost.

This was amazing when it was on Channel 4. Then it moved to Sky and got shit.

"See you in another life, brother." (also my fav. character)

Same. I have a Desmond bobble head.

I think Lost 'lost' me as a fan when I realised they were making it up as they went along rather than having a huge plan for all the mysteries that went on through the show. They basically conned me that the show was genius rather than just them doing random things to make you think they were being clever.

Also did they ever explain if Walt was that special? I can't remember.

That's the point I gave up on it too.

"Oh, you're not actually going to explain any of this? You're just making shit up as you go along because you think it's cool? Righto."

I'm sure that was only for one season (season 2?). First season was pretty thought out I'm sure, but they had no plans for after that, and then I think it was the following one was where they started to not know what was actually happening themselves, and then after that that they actually had an idea of what was happning and going to happen.

or maybe I'm just deluding myself

I thought Walter was earmarked by the Others as a future leader? As in a leader of the Others.

4 8 15 16 23 42.

If you asked me in 40 years I'd still remember those numbers. I remember I downloaded a widget for my iMac that made me type in the numbers every 108 minutes just like Desmond. I loved it

I'm going to pick them as my next lottery numbers.

It was an app that was a small computer screen that looked exactly like the one on lost with the countdown above it. Every 108 minutes it would beep like in the show and I'd type the numbers in.

Dunno I just found the whole concept really cool. Plus I was about 16.

The numbers were great. I loved season two on the re-watch, it was much better than I remember it being- aside from Ana Lucia and Charlie's story lines, both of which were pretty shite.

Season one is still the best though. Watching the pilot for the first time was probably the most fun I've ever had watching a TV show.

lol. I did like the numbers link especially on flashbacks and them just randomly appearing here and there. It was a nice connection.

The journey of lost outweighs the sanctification of the ending though.

fecking brilliant

Ben is the only character I like and care about (I am at the end of the fourth season).

Don't mind Revan, he's a hipster when it comes to TV serials.
Really? The Wire, Breaking Bad and The Sopranos are the best shows I have seen (though my favorite is Galactica but I don't think that in quality is near them).

This is as un-hipster as it can get.

Anyway, I think that I don't like Lost. Complicated for the sake of being complicated and not planned well (or even planned at all). I preferred even Alias (JJ Abrams other show which uses the same formula of looking intelligent despite being quite crap in reality).

I'lI finish it eventually for the sake of closure (same thing I did with Dexter) but if I can go back in time, I wouldn't ever start it.

Finished it. Never been more happy for finishing a TV show.

Saying that, the finale was quite ok and enjoyable.

I've never seen this before and I must say I love it , although the last few seasons have jumped about a bit too much.
Evangeline Lilley is a lucky girl to be able to get to grips with not only Matthew Fox and Josh Holloway but Aiden Turner too ☺

Got a guy at work into this and watched a few episodes with him, now I'm hooked again. Absolutely love this show it's so outrageously good in almost all aspects. I can't believe the sheer number of people who gave up on it. Each to their own I guess but I think many people have missed out on a great show.

I thought the show was shit after the first 2 seasons?

It is and it isn't. It did some things incredible well. The plot was needlessly complicated and also made no sense quite a few times during its run, but boy did they know how to get an audience attached to characters.

But I would agree that seasons 1,2,3 were fecking excellent television.
