Television Lost: The Final Season

Enjoyed the finale and wasn't 'let down' by the plotholes because I spent days preparing for none of the 'reveals' to be meaningful.

Yes the past 6 years have been a waste, by hey, I gave it a wide berth during the middle seasons anyway.

In the 'church' I noticed the following

a picture of Krishna/Bhagwan hanging from the wall just as Jack enters
Two different models of Buddha (Zen and orthodox I presume) on bookshelves
A hanging cross, obviously
Window pane seperated in six parts showing the following religions (imo):
Islam
Judaism
Sikhism
Hinduism
Christianity
one other, can't remember now

So this was the exit point for whichever destination awaited the 'believer'. A bit Terry-Pratchett-Discworld like.

Because the Island story was pants, made no reasonable sense and a lot of stuff they built up as important was either unimportant or unanswered.

The whole of season 4 for example.

mmmm...£100+ for the box set I imagine. Is 14 minutes worth that?

DVD is about £135, Blu Ray will be about £175, its worth it for the six seasons of Lost ffs, if youd only buy it for the 15 minute clip then dont bloody bother.

Incidently, im pre ordering the blu ray one as soon as its available to pre order in the UK, I didnt buy any previous box sets for this very reason.

I'm sure you can buy season 6 on its own with the extra footage....or of course, download it (completely legally of course)

It'll be up on youtube in 6 months anyway

Come to think of it...what was the point of Desmonds time traveling flashes?...Like...at all?

How have the last six years been a waste?!

I appreciate everyone's willingness to not have every plot starter come to a conclusion. I have different expectation levels, which obviously can be tuned but only by a reasonable frequency.

If I sit down to watch a film, say Bladerunner, where the premise is gradually laid out as it was, I would be mightily p*ssed off if the film ended with the two main characters singing New York, New York and blowing kisses to onlookers.

If you viewed Lost as a novel...which is what the writers often claimed it was like...then it was a complete shambles of a novel.

It was just very well made, acted and entertaining.....It failed as a symphonic umbrella piece though.

Isn't the one you labelled as Claire's mum more likely to be Kate's mum?

@ Solius obviously.

Oh, and to the people saying that six years of their lives have been wasted, WTF? You spent an hour a week, on a Friday night in the UK, Wednesday night in the US, watching a show, which then in the end turned out unsatisfactory for you lot, and you're saying that a whopping six years of your life was wasted?

It was an hour a week plus an hour discussing the show perhaps, and that time, hadn't LOST been "wasting your time", would've made such a difference to you? LOST was so important to you that it made you delay you finding the cure for cancer, or more likely, watching another TV show while scratching your balls, so stop talking bullshit about how it wasted six years of your life. I'm not a fanboy by any means, and I'm bummed out about the lack of answers, but in the end I've been watching the show for this long because I liked the show as a whole, not just because of the mysteries surrounding the island, and certainly don't feel like the lack of answers has rendered the time watching it useless, as I would've spent my time watching another show, probably worse than LOST.

I thought Claire's mum was top right and Kate's mum was underneath her.

The one next to Widmore has to be Penny....The one dressed as a cop you think was Kate's sweetheart was actually the bloke from Firefly who was married to Kate pointessly in a flashback once and she drugged him...next to him is a bloke Locke took to a hippy commune and ended up being an undercover cop...Both were quite recognisable actors, both shit flashback stories.

Yeah had the cop guy, forgot about Penny for some reason.

Good shout, I remember an ep when Jack thought his dad was fecking her

The one between Seth Norris and Hurley's dad could well be Charlie's brother Liam...

Also Other Desmond Army Guy is probably Kate's Dad (or who she thought was her dad - He was in a Sayid Flashback in S2) and next to him could be Nadia

Seems to fit better then any other ones I can think of. Will put it in.

Just noticed Nadia next to those two army guys at the top too.

One of them has to be the woman Sawyer knocked up...feck knows which one though

Yeah, was thinking him too..

But when Richard recruited Juliet to come work with them (Not in Portland I think), did he come alone? I don't know why I seem to recall there being another guy, who could be the one next to Kelvin.

The other guy was Ethan

The one next to Kelvin is the Marshall surely?

I only assume that cos he's reaching into a holster (or wallet)...but it looks enough like him

The annoying thing is that the two next to Malkin I recognise, especially the woman, but I've got feck all clue where from!

The whole of season 4 for example.

season 4 was the shittiest.

the best was....
-season2
-season1
-season6
-season5
-season3
-season4

Greatest Hits and Through the Looking Glass (and even The Brig) from season 3 trump everything in S6, S4 and S5...thus making it better...despite most of it being poo

Season 4 had some deceptively good episodes. I also really liked the whole Dharma Season 5 thing.

nearly a dozen episodes in season 3 were below par compared to other seasons.

Also, Flashes before your eyes was S3, which was also a quality ep. The Constant was S4 too...I prefer season 4 to 5 personally...The Dharma thing was pointless, what actually happened?

Personally I'd prefer Joe cole over Milner.

Does anyone still think the sideways universe was full of shit ? wasted half the season on it....they could have instead focussed on the island stuff more.
