Television Lost: The Final Season

So 2 sets of candidates lists. For 2 different vacancies.

Ben - "I was terrified that I was about to loose the only thing that ever matterd to me, my power."

More evidence to support that it was about himself and not Smokey.

It related more to fecking widmore than it does to ben. Afterall widmore was exiled off the island and he had power on the island and now he wants it back.

I think thats why the writers worded it that way so we couldn't be sure either way.

Alright calm down lad, no need to get in a stress just because your initial thought was wrong.

But yes, It could easily be a refference to Widmore, especialy since he makes an appearence at the end.

So, is it safe to read the last few pages? I stopped reading this thread just before the season started when someone mentioned (and posted a link to) a character who was supposedly going to die. I didn't want to take any chances. Is this a spoiler-free environment again?

Once it has aired in the US we discuss the episode in spoiler tags then once it has aired in the UK we talk about it openly.

Just mulling over some thoughts and maybe this has been covered already.

When Sayid shot Ben, he was taken to the temple, and they were told he'd never be the same.

So if Sayid hadn't shot Ben, Ben would never have been the Ben that he turned into....

Paradox?

Yes, everything that has happened happened because Ben was shot by the time-travelling Sayid.

:drool::drool: i predict a proper headfeck moment in this episode :drool::drool:

Guess the episode should be a turning point where they explain most things and let the story progress and reach closure for the remaining episodes. They cant possibly save everything for the finale and have a reveal at the last minute. That would be silly. And the fact that most of the facts might be coming from Richard should be great.

I just had a random nose bleed, you know you are obsessed with Lost when the first thing you think of is Lost and time travelling

My theory is that the smokey is esau (biblical brother of jacob) who originally was intended to have all the power and was tricked by jacob and is bitter ever since.

Esau Esau - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Bible depicts Esau as a hunter who prefers the outdoor life, qualities that distinguished him from his brother, who was a shy or simple man."

We already know that the smokey likes to hunt and is generally an outdoor person whilst jacob seems to be a simple person (as shown in lost.)

Esau's father, Isaac, compels Esau to swear not to attack or kill Jacob after Isaac has died. However, after the death of Isaac, the sons of Esau convince their father to lead them, and hired mercenaries, against Jacob in order to kill Jacob and his family and seize their wealth (especially the portion of Isaac's wealth that Isaac had left to Jacob upon his death). In the ensuing battle, Jacob kills Esau with an arrow. The sons of Jacob then defeat the rest of the attackers despite overwhelming odds.

This could be the "rules"!?!

We've already seen the smokey gather a small army made of mercenaries!

I also think that ben is infact jacobs son! thats why he was able to kill him.

Benjamin was the last-born of Jacob's twleve sons

Interesting theory. This has been discussed since the opening to the S5 finale in some detail. I kinda agree but its tough to see how the Biblical story can co-exist with all the Egyptian mythology with the Tawaret statue, the ankhs, the hieroglyphs etc, unless their idea is that all mythologies merge into one or something like that.

You have conveniently not mentioned that that is only one version of the myth. There are several out there.

Regardless it is obvious the creators have borrowed heaving from ancient christian and egyptian mythologies but they are not going to play it out exactly like these stories.

Since the island is always "moving" its possible that the island is a mixture of many civilizations but the jacob and smokey story is definitely based on the biblical story because there are too many similarities for it to be a coincidence.

There's bound to be some changes but the general theme is quite similar.

Oh yeah they'll probably meet up again now won't they. Interesting to see what will happen though, can't just be an episode of them traveling to the Hydra, but if they get there halfway through the ep they'll probably meet up with Widmore who is probably going there to meet them. However I can't see Widmore being back in it til at least Episode 9.

I think the Dr.Linus has to be the best episode of the season so far.

The Constant with Desmond being the best episode of the whole six series so far.

The worst episode of the season is definately "What Kate Did"

The worst episode of the series was when they did that filler episode about those 2 people getting buried alive on the beach. ( can't remember their names)

Why hasn't Kate just got naked yet? I'm starting to worry that she won't get naked at all. Do the writers have plans for her to get naked? Is anyone else concerned by the lack of Kate-nakedness?

How do you know this ?
I dont "know" this but it is quite clear that it will happen seeing as Flockes group are heading over to Hydra Island and it is a Sawyer centric.

Evangeline Lilly stated a few years ago that she will never do a scene like that, the shower scenes where she is wrapped up in a towel is the furthest she will go unfortunately.

nikki and paulo, gone and as it would seem forgotten.

Funny you should say that, they were mentioned in the last episode by Miles.

How do you know this ?

Juliet shot someone in an outrigger, around a time on the island after Ajira Flight 316 crashed (the water bottles they found). Now Locke and his group are traveling to the Hydra island. I'm guessing Locke can do his funky smokey thing and reach the island but the rest will have to take, you guessed it, an outrigger.

She was actually meant to get naked (or topless, I can't remember) in the first episode but she had it changed to just underwear.

Would have been this scene I think.

INCREDIBLE episode

God I hope Desmond is in Season 6. Has there been any indication that he will be?
