Liverpool : General discussion

How does Teixeira work? He, Firmino, Coutinho and Lallana are at their best in the same position. They need wingers and a striker.
Which Teixiera ? I like them both but if we talking about Alex .... let's get him first. If that happens, and for us dealing with Ukrainian clubs that's a big IF, then I'm offering blow-jobs all round :)

Lallana shouldn't even be a factor. In the bin you go.

£77 is ridiculous. Never like the walk out thing, just don't turn up.

Agreed on the price being ridiculous, but what else can they do? Does not turning up really have any more of an effect than leaving at a certain time when the owners/club get paid regardless? I'd say just don't buy tickets at all, but a club with a fanbase like ours can fill those seats multiple times over, so that wouldn't work.

Aye, just not going means other fans who are willing to pay that price buy the tickets and go instead.

I've seen a few suggestions about fans going but not buying anything in or around the ground. No food, drink, merchandise etc. That would probably send a more effective message to the owners due to a sizeable drop in matchday revenue.

The prices are ridiculous regardless of what happens Saturday. This is a club with one year of Champions League football since 2009.

You're not wrong, but most importantly, it's a club with more than the stadium capicity of fans willing to pay the asking price.

The no food/drink/merchandise idea is a really good one, though.

Really hope they go ahead and do the walk out thing, £77 is nuts. All football supporters should be supporting Liverpool fans in this one.

Though I am looking forward to the inevitable comments on Twitter... "Mignolet showing he's a true red, left after 77 minutes as well!"

There's a lot of comparisons between pool and us. This kind of thing (the ticket prices) is similar to why FCUoM was set up isn't it. You almost get pushed to the point where you can't be bothered because you're sick of being treated like a customer instead of the club directors realising the important role the supporters play. Instead they get treated like dogshit. Sad that the premier league is just another business now.

Called it.

Klopp's lucky the media fawn over him. He's been terrible for Liverpool so far

He ? Or the players ? Or the injuries ? Or a combination ?

Note he hasn't bought one player that's actually in the squad yet. If his previous work in Germany is any indication we can expect a massive turnover this summer ... with Mignolet first out the door SVP.

He's a dinosaur with his training methods aside from being a fraud. A decent manager would have at least improved on Rodgers not done worse with the same set of players.

Surely he was brought in to do a better job with the same set of players. It annoys me these excuses he needs his own team or transfer window. Moyes had those excuses too.

You don't replace a manager in October for the other manager to do worse.

He gave Mignolet a 5 year contract. He's not going anywhere.

Are there any thoughts that the walkout could have negatively impacted their team? Maybe gives an impression of being more comfortable than they were?

Nope (don't be so sensible). I've read plenty on RAWK stating they'll give him 3 years before they start judging him.

Didn't he give Mignolet a contract extension?

17 games and 23 points for Klopp.

I don't care how shit their squad is, that's fecking terrible.

No. They knew it was going to happen. I don't believe it had any impact at all. That was all the players' work.

Any club would give hims new contract so that he doesn't walk away for free. Means nothing.

Of course it does. Klopp himself said he likes Mignolet and sees him there long term.

Also he wasn't available on a free at the end of this season.

agree. whatever the situation, he should have stabilized the team. That has not happened. I'm still trying to find him excuses because a lot of our lads rated him so highly.

Isn't that hypocritical ? Or are you also a LvG detractor ?

Klopp has always been a slow starter. He does need to formulate his own team if he wants them to play to a certain (proven and successful) way. If these players (plus those injured) can't prove they can then I'm quite confident they will be replaced.

You are not going to slam your keeper mid-season (well you might it seems) and his value would have dropped considerably if, as expected, a new keeper is brought in and he only had a year left on his contract.

Absolutely. Not that we don't have a proven world class manager at the helm but he's the one constantly picking Lallana, Hendo, Can and Nilner (pun intended) and then expects dynamite football. Plus signing Mug (pun intended) for another 5 years.

The honeymoon is certainly over.

Why did you hire him in October? You don't sack a manager in October for the replacement to do worse. This squad excuses needs to stop. He is doing a worse job than Brenton with the same squad.

Yep, Liverpool definitely haven't had any problems trying to shift players on big contracts in the last few years, nosireebob.

Giving shite players big 5 year deals is definitely the best way to sell them.
Not quite the same thing at all. 5-8M and lowish wages.

Don't deflect and squirm away. Answer the question I posed.
