Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Again, we've not been able to play with these three yet. But come on, apart from Henderson, your midfield is very, very average. In our first three games we've played with Fletcher and Cleverley, and Fletcher and Di Maria in a two-man midfield. Getting an idea as to why we're not playing so well?

What the frick? These are two league winners you're talking about here! Show some fricking respect and credit. Your lot regularly throw paper titles at us as some form of guaranteed success (LvG has won such and such, Di Maria is such and such, Herrera has done that and this) then in the same unashamed breath you discredit real premier league winners.

You can't have it both ways!

United have better players on paper, this is obvious, and is reflected by their respective salaries, bigger wage budget, better players, on paper.

At the moment Liverpool have a better team, now obviously Liverpool have been as a team for longer, with 8 new players essentially replacing the main star of last season. United are a new team, with 6 new signings, under a new manager. United need time to gel and get players back to fitness before they can prove as a team that they are better than Liverpool, as well as Spurs and Arsenal. Liverpool have to prove they can cope with European football.

Absolutely no point in arguing who has better individuals from a Liverpool point of view firstly because you're probably wrong but more importantly because it doesn't fecking matter.

A lot of people are embarrassing themselves in this thread (fans of both clubs) but I think you just hit the nail on the head.

Still stand by what I said a few weeks ago, we're in a fight for 4th place (and beyond) with you, Arsenal and possibly Spurs. Anyone saying it's an easy choice right now are getting ahead of themselves, no matter who they predict.

They were decent at one point. Well, Fletcher was. They're both shit now, for different reasons.

clever argument....but you know as well as me that neither of those players are anywhere near our first picks for CM.

Answer the question so either you can bump that post or we can.

I think it's already been made clear on here what most United fans think about LVG and his plans. It doesn't take a genius to see he's building a fantastic team. One that I believe will easily leave Liverpool's current starting eleven in the dust when it clicks.

Just my two cents though, we'll wait and see what happens. I don't have a crystal ball.

Behave yourself, Cleverley never fulfilled his promise and as for Fletcher out of the game with a chronic illness and he's never recovered.
The rest of your post is blatant nonsense LvG, Herrera and Di Maria :wenger: What have they done to backup your point ?

Wage budget is no indication on quality even on paper.

The thing with that logic is that it implies that the two sides will be going against each other each week. When Liverpool go away to Spurs and win 3-0 it is irrelevant how good United are.

Roque Santa Cruz likes this post...

Seriously though, you want the very best players then you pay for them, otherwise they feck off to Barcelona or somewhere.

I didn't dispute that. But if you look at us a few seasons ago (Hodgson, King Kenny) when we had a bigger wage bill than Spurs, they still finished above us every year and no one would argue that our players were better even on paper.

Ok, whatever mate.

I'm very happy with our business anyway, we'll see what happens in time.

Or you could just buy Real Madrid and Monaco's cast-offs instead and pay them a fortune ? Di Maria tried his damnedest to stay at Real but wasn't wanted and Falcao was fawning all over RM too. Don't kid yourself they came for any other reason than a lack of options.

The difference is in the management, countless arguments I've had with scousers on Ferguson being the difference and countless similar arguments trying to explain that Benitez was/is a bit shit, Kenny mk ii and Hodgson for you, Moyes last year  Christ if I don't laugh I'll cry. You've a decent manager now and are reaping rewards even with some of Kennys players but the very best players demand massive transfers and wages, Wenger has excelled on a tight budget but even he now is loosening the purse strings but you have to fear it's to little too late, I have a feeling their top four status might come to an end come May.

It's a combination, yes you can compete as SAF showed but if your not actively signing the best players the chickens will come home to roost.
Your clubs best hope is in Rodgers but I've yet to see evidence he can setup a defence and heading to CL that's a huge concern. In other words if your to maintain competitive then you've to have a top manager, spend big on your players and their wages and one without the other only papers over cracks for so long.

Not entirely true, Falcao had CL football at Liverpool but said no

Falcao's a Monaco cast-off now? What a fall from grace from a week or two ago when Liverpool were linked.

Give me Real Madrid's cast-offs any day over signing the likes of Ashley Young/Michael Owen/Rickie Lambert/Adam Lallana/insert random dross here.

If we'd sorted our financial position out sooner and reinvested the Ronaldo money in Real Madrid cast-offs Sneijder and Robben, we'd probably not even have skipped a beat.

It's amazing really, as it stands Liverpool have spent 30 million pounds less than Manchester United this transfer window.

Liverpool signings

Rickie Lambert
Adam Lallana
Emre Can
Dejan Lovren
Divock Origi
Lazar Markovic
Javier Manquillo
Alberto Moreno
Mario Balotelli

Manchester United signings

Ander Herrera
Luke Shaw
Marcus Rojo
Angel Di Maria
Daley Blind
Radamel Falcao ?

30 million pounds less, just look at those listed players and let that sink in.

You make it sound as if we've had an absolute shocker.

I'm pretty pleased with our business.

There's literally not one player you've signed has any pedigree, baring a rather unstable Balotelli, yet you've managed to spend close on £115m pounds. That's not a shocker it's fecking criminal.

It is staggering that we haven't got any European football, and Liverpool have, yet our signings are all of another gravy.

Just shows the pulling power of Manchester United Football club, and in my opinion, Louis van Gaal.

Two are of "another gravy" and Falcao is a player you didn't actually need.

Not interested in 'pedigree'. Alexis Sanchez/Di Maria etc would have been nice, but we've signed some good players anyway.

The Moyes effect :(

@BarneyLFC yea who the feck needs one of the Worlds best no9's on their books as backup when you can get Rickie Lambert for 20 pound and a couple of saucy dvd's.

Not us (I wanted someone who could play wide a la Benzema or Remy. Obviously Samchez was ideal).

You've signed some right shite too, I mean yea it might work out but if your taking a punt on players £115m is a vast sum for a punt, no ?

Except for Suarez leaving, no negatives in this transfer window for me.

Jeez.. Calm the feck down... Both the lot...You are embarrassing yourselves...
